UPDATE: Carrie Fisher Reportedly Confirms Her Involvement In STAR WARS EPISODE VII

The actress who portrayed 'Princess Leia' in the original Star Wars trilogy, apparently confirmed that she will return for Episode VII at a recent book signing. More after the jump...

Now, we are not really sure how reliable this report is, so take it with a grain of salt. Acccording to TheForce.net, Carrie Fisher confirmed her reprisal as 'Princess Leia' for Star Wars Episode VII, at the recent booksigning in Cherry Hill. Fisher was a big part of the original Star Wars trilogy, and she was asked in a couple of interviews whether or no she would like to return, and her answer was very optimistic and positive. Here is what she apparently said at this book signing event:

"One of our rebel readers, Curt, wrote in with the following: "I was at Carrie Fishers booksigning in Cherry Hill, NJ on November 15, and the interview she did started with the question 'Are you really going to be in a new star wars movie?' and Carrie answered quietly 'Yes....I thought it was already common knowledge.' She did not elaborate, as she probably doesn't want to crow too loudly at this point in the project development."

Again, it's probably best to wait for an official confirmation.

UPDATE: Well, that was fast. Thanks to E! Online, it seems this is not true after all:

"She hasn't confirmed anything," a rep told me this morning. "Everything you've seen has been tongue-in-cheek."

Walt Disney bought LucasFilm last month, and with that, they plan to release Episode VII in 2015, followed by a new Star Wars film every two to three years.

Batz, thsi isn't "rumor". It's quote from Fisher that turned out to be just her taking the mick. The general rule is never to delete anything that can be updated because then people just wonder where the story went without an explanation.

That Wasp article on the other hand was literally just some dude on Twitter saying "hey, wonder is Sosak will be Wasp in Iron Man 3!"..and that turned into one site running with it as a "rumor" and hey presto. The thumbs up are clicked when people like a story.. doesn't always matter if it has any business being on main or not sometimes ya know?

Somebody find the pic like above, where luke, Leia, and Han have the actors' old faces photoshopped in? I think it was an ad in Wizard or Toyfare...

Yet you post Rumor articles on Main based on an IMDB update (which are many times some user dude updating IMDB) and you don't see the double standard and irony in what you just said? Sure...lol

I'm sorry, but Carrie Fisher is the one part of this new Star Wars series that I could ABSOLUTELY live WITHOUT!!!

I loved, loved, loved her in the originals, as we all do, but seeing her in the public eye since then, how she is in real life, what she has become now, my view of her has turned a complete 180.

She has tarnished beyond repair, the legacy that was Princess Leia.

If anything, I say have her already be dead, or get killed at the very beginning of the Ep. VII as the motivator for the old crew to get back together and rally some young blood.

She has to be in it. All the original cast has to be vague and coy at this point till the ink dries on the Disney contracts.
