The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won't leave the planet without Riddick's head as their trophy.



Starring Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine and Dave Bautista, Riddick is set to be released in 2013.

Doesn't the sypnosis for this movie sound awfully like "Pitch BlacK" and "Chronicles" sandwiched together?

Hope it's good, liked both of them.

u cant compare this to the Dredd situation. Riddick has a built in audience already. Dredd marketing was not handle well by Liongate thats why it was not a success in the US.

@jazzman, well that and it's generally not that popular in USA general public. Only thing that the majority of people in the US know about Dredd is that awful Sylvester version.

The last film was so bad I wish they'd burn the negatives and forget it happened. The 'Dark Fury' animated short was ten times better!

@Nomis Yes there was. He went by the alias "Drax The Destroyer" and was a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Liked Pitch Black but was not a fan of Chronicles. They were way different from each other. I hope this lies somewhere in the middle.

Please make it better than Chronicles -- Everything sucked ass in Chronicles even the bounty hunter. Really how do you put a funny bounty hunter in a Riddick movie? We need a Pitch Black movie again!!!!

We don't REALLY need a pitch black movie again. I thought Chronicles was fine, but as Ron Burgundy would say "That escalated quickly" So I hope the new one is somewhere in between Pitch and Chronicles

I'm really looking forward to this movie. I loved the first two and the animated movie that connected the two. Riddick is one of my favorite characters.

the synopsis sounds like pitch black, the last movie, he became the leader, how the hell is he now left for dead on an alien planet, continuity is not there

love this series but that plot is weak, needless to say i will still see it lol but im not stoked for that storyline
