RUMOR: James Marsden And Halle Berry Wanted For X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Well, it was inevitable after everything we know so far that we will see a report about this. It seems that 20th Century Fox is hoping to bring back James Marsden (Cyclops) and Halle Berry (Storm) for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past...

With filming starting in April 2013, we will see a lot more reports about possible cast members for the Bryan Singer-directed sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Director already confirmed that James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult will return for the upcoming follow-up, and that both Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will reprise their roles from the original trilogy (even though Stewart apparently knows nothing about that). It has also been revealed that Hugh Jackman is in talks to play Wolverine once again, so this report from MovieWeb is pretty much expected. But, according to them, studios wants James Marsden and Halle Berry back as 'Cyclops' and 'Storm'. Of course, nothing is confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt for now.

As far as making new deals with the cast from the original trilogy, here is another bit of info thanks to THR:

"By contrast, new deals must be struck with the original trilogy stars, though insiders say negotiations haven't been overly complex. For one, Jackman and the others will appear mostly in scenes depicting an alternate dystopic future. Second, there is a great deal of goodwill on the part of the actors to return, thanks mostly to the involvement of Bryan Singer."

X-Men: Days of Future Past is based on a classic comic book storyline, which deals "with a dystopian alternative future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps." The arc also features the Sentinels, who rule the United States.

i thought halle berry had a falling out with singer & said something along the lines of that she wouldn't return for x-men 3 if singer was directing.

hence why ratner directed the third movie,i do hope both of them return though.

@marvel72 singer left X3 because he was offered superman returns, then Matthew vaughn came in to direct that's why vinnie jones was cast, then vaughn left with like 2 weeks before they where scheduled to start shooting then ratner came in.

Does that mean they are gonna recast Wolverine and original trilogy co. after this one?

Singer pulling strings to smooth things out hopefully. But moving forward with McAvoy and Fassbender bodes well I think.

The scale of this movie is getting bigger and bigger ...let's hope they get too carried away and bring back the cast of Origins: Wolverine...that would definetely suck.

Marsden was decent. I think he still hasn't gotten the chance to really bring Scott Summers to glory, with the Jackman/Wolverine character getting most of the spotlight. I wouldn't bitch about his return.

As far as Berry, I'm with the majority on this in saying, HELL NOOO!!!

I guess this would conflict with James Marsden getting the Star-Lord role for GOTG.I would love to see Cyclops come back but he has to have a big role.Marsden only had a lot of screen time as Cyclops in X-Men.I was so pissed he got killed in X3 I wanted to leave the theater.I would like to know more about the time travel plot.

They are just reporting the HollywoodReporter article, and they dont say Halle and James are in talks, they just posted their names as examples of original actors with no confirmation yet.

Also,I have to say that All New X-Men is my favorite book out of all the Marvel Now books so far.Bendis and Immonen are doing a great job.After reading issue #3 I can see why Scott is going to get that new X-visor in Uncanny X-Men.

Based on what they say here it sounds like the alternate future they avoid means that the one from X1-3 does happen. I would like this to be a sort of reboot like Star Trek...Or maybe just reboot the whole thing. First Class should have been a pure reboot.

@Gambit89 Sorry but I don't think that's going to happen because The Wolverine takes place after X3.

You know, part of me wants them to reboot X-Men(First Class is NOT a reboot)....is that wrong? :)

I agree,Halle Berry was terrible as Storm.I think Gabrielle Union looks a lot like how Storm should look but she isn't a very good actress and I don't think she would be able do a good African accent.

*SPOILERS*
Scott's powers have become unstable because of the Phoenix Force.Also,when Scott had the Phoenix Force he screwed with Magneto's mutant powers and Erik's pissed at him.But whenever Scott tries to use his optic blasts the blasts just go all over the place instead of going in just one direction like normal.I think that's why he will get the new X-visor to be able to handle his now unstable optic blasts.

James Marsden has always bored the crap outta me with his portrayal of Cyclops - but Berry shouldn't return if possible - get a proper dark-skinned African actress to portray the comic book Storm / Ororo Munroe.

@Marvel87 The cover is how he shoots off his optic blasts now.I smiled when I saw the last panel of issue #3.This book has been a great read so far.I haven't been this excited about a X-Men comic since the 90s.

The original X-Men show up in the final panel alone when Scott and Magneto are trying to recruit another new mutant for their Revolution.

@MARVELPSYCHO79 I've only read #1 and that was a GREAT issue. I had to read that again. So just to be clear, Eva & Christopher(I believe that's him on the cover of Uncanny X-Men #1 Marvel Now cover) is part of Cyclops new "crew"??

@Marvel87 So far they just have Eva.The mutant Cyke and Mags are trying to recruit at the end of issue #3 is named Benjamin and he's a shapeshifter.*Spoiler* That's when the original X-Men show up and young Scott tells older Cyke what the hell he thinks he's doing.I can't wait for issue #4.

Good im happy im glad about this. I hope everyone comes back and he calls it x-men mutant apocalypse, and have apocalypse in it. And Halle is the perfect storm i loved her as storm. This is sounding alot better then x-men first ass.

And who wants a black storm? You people seem to be ok with a black electro, so lets make storm white. What a white girl caint play storm?
