This week, Warner Bros. Pictures have released the second theatrical trailer for the Zack Snyder-directed Superman reboot, Man of Steel. The footage showed a lot of great scenes, so here are fifty high resolution screengrabs from the preview...

Next summer, "Man of Steel" is coming to the big screen. The film is from director Zack Snyder and producers Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer from a story by Goyer & Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Starring Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner and Ayelet Zorer, Man of Steel is set to hit theatres on June 14, 2013.

Awesome! In the pic where Superman is spitting blood you see a pair of boots other then Zod's.

1) cavill looks perfect as superman
2) zod looks awesome
3) cavill's got massive feet (or maybe they're just much closer to the camera i cap1)
4) i'm curious to see how they pull off clark kent (both look and personality)

Personally, these still have me more excited than the trailer. The pacing, particularly in the later half, felt rushed, and so many scenes were flying by I really didn't have time to let them sink in even on multiple viewings.

But these stills... I think a lot can be read between the lines.

I wasn't thrilled to see Goyer was in charge of the story/screenplay, but I was still planning on seeing this. Now, after seeing the stills, I am pumped. I think this is Zack's chance to deliver a film that isn't too huge, too silly, or too stylish for mainstream audiences.

It's about freakin' time! Didn't think that it was that hard to make a Superman movie. Excluding the first two Reeves films, Returns gave us a bitchy Superman that stalked lois and got his ass whooped... again. Thumbs up for Man of Steel.

max@That is a sick still....Man I'm sooooo excited for this. I feel like they are keeping so much under wraps that when we watch it , it will still have a shit ton of surprises. I can't wait to have that shit grinning experience again watching a flick. Braniac part 2 Darksied for JL then lex for the third...

When he is standing in front of the soldiers he looks awfully short for Superman... In comparison to say Hemsworth's Thor for a contemporary... or to the Late Chris Reeves...

Reeves was perfect for the part, with both looks and height and acting. We will have to judge for ourselves when MOS releases next year, I am sure Cavill will be perfect too :).... definitely got the looks :)

The visual effects are incredible! BRA-[frick]ING-VO on the Alien ships, they're amazing. Only thing I didn't like was the fire on Clark.... Looked a little too... Unfinished, but give it time.
