With all the buzz of the last few days it was bound to be done.
A fan based petition is being done and while i dont have much faith in this things its worth to check out.

I dont really trust these kind of things to work out, but for everyone that wants to sign the link is just down there.

Its going to be dificult due to "Supernatural" just been picked up for a 6th season...


Ackles, 31, is often on fanboy wishlists for the part - with some comic book readers believing he'd be perfect because an A-list movie star would be too famous and recognisable in the role of the patriotic supersoldier.

After all, Hugh Jackman wasn't a megastar before he played Wolverine, Christian Bale wasn't as much of a global celebrity before he was cast in the new Batman franchise, and Robert Downey Jr wasn't a major household name before Iron Man.

Ackles is the right age for Captain America and has the right look but is unproven on the big screen.

NO ONE on ANY list of actors, beats Jensen Ackles!!! Click on the pic to find out why. And if "schedualing" is the ONLY reason why Jensen can't be Cap because the Supernatural "heads" won't facilitate him, I'M [frick]ING BOYCOTTING SEASON 6 OF SUPERNATURAL!!!!!!!

is it just me, or does anyone else hate this picture of cap???

it gets used more than any other pic of cap. i hate it because its been modified. what is that an inflatable shield he's holding?? there is another pic, exactly like this with his actual shield, why not use that??? i don't know why, but it drives me crazy every time i see that inflat-a-shield thing, lol.

I have watched Super--ual. I watched the WHOLE
first season, and I almost died watching it (LOL)
cause that show just about sucked
the life out of me.
All the unoriginal stories, and horrendous,
stiff cardboard acting, an not funny one bit
one liners and facial expression. I had to
stop watching. Now if you're a fan, then I am
sorry for you, not beacuse you like the show,
but beacause you have to endure all that stuff
Dean and Sam call "acting". careful while
watching you might just die of BOREDOM.


ALSO Ohh I forgot to metion I had to deal with his acting even
BEFORE (that show)..He was in SMALLVILLE..which ALOT of
PEEPS on here KNOW I am a HUGE fan of, but even when HE
was on my FAVORITE show..I DIDN'T LIKE HIM..This started
ALL before SUPER****UAL, So it is not just because of
THAT show. I'm sorry I just am NOT a fan of..HIM.

If there is anyone with doubts about Ackles as Cap, just watch Supernatural season 5 episode 4 on TV-Dome.net. That one episode shows Ackles in two different lights, while he is cocky and headstrong his future self is a no nonsense leader of men with Captain America running through his veins.

wolverinept - No worries, I've seen that one. Think thats the last one I've seen I think, I'm in the UK so I rely on TV-Dome as season 5 has only just started on TV here! I know what you mean about that ending, I NEED to see more!

Surely season 6 can delay filming for Captain America and then work it in alongside Avengers. Yeah, he'll be a busy bunny but it could work out easy enough. It's nothing that hasn't been done before.

hell no to ackle just cast leonardo decaprio,and he can act and be takin just as seriouse as robert downey jr and not be shadowed by him in the avengers film. also hulk better be in the avengers film,and leader. if not then hulk needs a sequel.

I honestly think CW would allow Ackles time to make Captain America and Avengers. I mean they should, if only for the publicity it would draw to Supernatural and other CW shows. i mean people will want to know who this guy is, and they can see him on a weekly basis on Supernatural. Ratings for this abismal channel would go u, Supernatural DVD's and merchandise sales would rise. It makes good buisness sense for CW to make the move and allow him to take the role.

And It would give Kripke, or whoever they replace him with, time to write teh 6th season of the show. They are going to have to do some work to come up with fresh ideas since the series was written to end at season 5.

i'll definitely follow the link and vote, but let me just say that robert downey jr was already very, very, very big before iron man. he's been a respected actor for a long time.

I dont agree at all....sorry. But just a heads up Jackman was the only actor that BOOMED after his comic role. Robert and Bale have been around awhile. No disrespect. Just saying.

@RocknROll. Yeah its me. It seems teh rumors of my death were greatly exagerated.

Ackles is the only appropriate choice I like so far. I honestly do not believe that there is an appropriate actor alive to play this role.

ackles.....really! Its captain friggin america. And we want to place him in the hands of a CW actor. Will that many 13 year old girls be interested in this movie? But I have to admit he was brilliant on "Days of our Lives" LOL! ;)

Ackles fans are all on CRACK! I could see Jensen Ackles playing Hank Pym, but definitely not Captain America. Cap is not only the leader of the team, but he's also pretty deep. It's demanding physically and emotionally since time moved forward without him. If they plan on making this an adaptation/homage/kinda-loosely-sort-of based on Ultimates, I have no faith that Ackles can carry the Steve Rogers part. An abusive Hank Pym, yeah that's believable.

punkazzINC - have you seen Supernatural season 5 episode 4? i'm starting to sound like a broken record but that one episode shows Jensen playing his cocky self and his future self who is a no nonsense leader of men haunted by the tough choices he faces in order to keep his troops alive and win the battle.

My Jensen Ackles for Cap time line;

- Jensen 1st mentioned on CBM. I thought 'no way he can pull it off'

- Started Watching Supernatural seriously. I thought 'maybe, but there must be better choices'

- Into Supernatural season 3 and thinking 'actually, he would be really good'

- Onto season 4 and I am now convinced Ackles is a great choice for Cap.

- Saw the episode mentioned above and was instantly convinced Ackles IS Captain America!

no crack involved, just an open mind and the willingness to look beyond that initial response.

@Ron - I stopped watching supernatural after season 2. Neither the actors nor the storylines did anything for me. On your recommendation I'll check out the episode, that's as open-minded as one can possibly be. As for my choice with Cap only one man has the acting chops to give us the movie we want: Chris Klein!!!

Hell thats all any of us want for our comicbook to moivies. But at face value, and no I havent see Supernatural. I just feel there has to be someone better. I think he looks shrimpy. "Id rather see that Bradley guy from the Hangover"

Singed it. He was my pick ever since I heard the movie was coming out. You know all my friends laughed at me for it but I really hope he gets casted as Cap because 1) I think he'd be great and 2) so I can rub it in their faces.
