KRQE’s pilot-reporter Bob Martin just recently conducted a flyover of a movie set being built in Puerco Valley just west of Rio Rancho. The New Mexico State Film Office would not confirm nor deny that the set is for Disney's
The Lone Ranger. But industry sources have contacted KRQE, and have informed them that the sets are for
The Lone Ranger.

What about this title change you speak of? Well, the
Sande Alessi Casting agency has put out a call for extras and have made a major change to the title. This is what they posted on their official Facebook page, "Hi Everyone!! We are casting extras for the new Johnny Depp film
"The Lone Ranger & Tonto" in Creede, Colorado and Moab, Utah and surrounding areas."
Could it be a mistake? Yes. Could it be real? Yes. One of the things we all are well aware of is that Johnny Depp is going to make Tonto a much more important part of
The Lone Ranger tale and try to tear down as many stereotypes as possible. So, it would be no surprise to see Tonto's name getting top billing as well.
In another piece of casting news
NMFilm.com is looking for, "Hispanic/Mexican women ages 18-45 to play an 1800’s Mexican maid for The Lone Ranger. Women must be able to improvise sheer terror."
The Lone Ranger will be released in theaters May 31, 2013. The film stars Armie Hammer as The Lone Ranger and Johnny Depp as Tonto. Also starring in the movie: Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, Dwight Yoakam, Barry Pepper and Timothy Hutton.
