The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won't leave the planet without Riddick's head as their trophy.

Riddick is starring Vin Diesel, Katee Sachoff, Jordi Molla, and Karl Urban. The film will be directed by David Twohy, and also stars: Matt Nable, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk, Keri Hilson, Bokeem Woodbine and David Bautista.

Little excited about this.

I thought Chronicles had similarities with the original Conan films and I hoped that we'd get a third to see how Riddick's story turns out. We never got a third Conan, so Conan The Conqueror in space, please.

Damn I thought that first pic was from the movie. Would be cool to see Riddick in command of the Necromongers.

I hate Vin Diesel. I think he is the worst actor since Tara Reed. I am so not looking forward to this movie.

I loved Pitch Black. Chronicles of Riddick, not so much. I was way disappointed with the story and acting of Riddick. It's almost like when someone takes a short story, and tries to stretch it out into a full-length movie but adding in a bunch of nonsense.

Pitch Black was damn near a perfect movie though. And this movie doesn't sound as unwieldy as Chronicles of Riddick. I may see it.

But then again, I liked Avatar and John Carter of Mars, so what the heck do I know?
