Ah man. I don't think this movie needs a sequel. The first one was GREAT though.
HeisenbergSaysRelax - 2/21/2014, 12:25 PM
WE'RE GONNA NEED MORE BLUE PIECES!
RichardBoldly - 2/21/2014, 12:28 PM
WHAT ABOUT DC MOVIES, WARNER????

[frick].

i don't even like Marvel that much(therefore, MARVEL STUDIOS is overrated as [frick]) but I Just can't deny Warner lack of struggle to put DC on the [frick]ing map of CBMs.

The Dark Knight trilogy and MoS still beat the crap out of Marvel movies though.
Pasto - 2/21/2014, 12:30 PM
2017? Damn, I might be dead by then.
anthonyEstark - 2/21/2014, 12:31 PM
The first was great, can't wait for the sequel. That is a long time though.
TheBeard - 2/21/2014, 12:32 PM

don't bring that sh*t up in a LEGO thread...also MoS blows chunks :P
ThePowerCosmic - 2/21/2014, 12:44 PM
RichardBoldly

No they don't. Marvel films are better.
Spidey91 - 2/21/2014, 12:45 PM
why 2017 though? I'm surprised they aren't rushing it to 2015.
Dinotron - 2/21/2014, 12:46 PM
@richardboldly
Seriously dude...
I love TDK series and MOS was good but don't be one of those guys
I'm not even going to feed into it
Theace69 - 2/21/2014, 12:46 PM
^ Do you know how long it takes to animate a movie?

Also this movie won't be that good. No Phil Lord & Chris Miller and the movie will suffer. Just look at Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.
Hellboy6666 - 2/21/2014, 12:47 PM
The ending and it's correlation with the real world really took me out of it and made me depressed and sad for both Emmet and that little kid....haven't felt an emotional impact from a film like that since Furngully. 2017 is too far off.
thewonderer - 2/21/2014, 12:48 PM
They better bring back Phil Lord and Chris Miller for this.

If they don't, WB can go burn in [frick]ing hell. You don't start off a franchise with talent, take that way, and aim for the same success.

Seriously, Lord and Miller or [frick] off.
ThePowerCosmic - 2/21/2014, 12:49 PM
Avengers, Iron Man and Captain America TFA are all classics.
Spidey91 - 2/21/2014, 12:49 PM
yeah, they better get the directors back, or it just won't be the same.
ThePowerCosmic - 2/21/2014, 12:50 PM
DrManhood

Yes to me they are much better films and more entertaining. Sorry:(
Hellboy6666 - 2/21/2014, 12:51 PM
Also Fu$& MOS because if you can't beat em join em...also Fu$& xbox1, pepsi, samurai (over ninjas), bud light, Daniel Bryan, low fat milk, west side, capulets, DC, Luigi....
smgmayhem - 2/21/2014, 12:52 PM
@Richard although I enjoy both comic parties what Marvel has done in the past six years alone has been phenomenal. I agree they've had some misses but most if not all have been major hits with a strong majority of people. Their risks have spawn other companies to follow suit with their properties as well. I would say that their rating has great merit.
Dinotron - 2/21/2014, 12:53 PM
All of Marvels films will be classics since try were the first to do a Cinematic universe like they have.

Dinotron - 2/21/2014, 12:56 PM
DC purists will continue to hate on Marvel films till 2016 to be honest

Marvel is better when it comes to bringing their characters to the big screen, thats fact

DC has the best animation and currently TV series

That's how it is
Pedrito - 2/21/2014, 1:07 PM
Essentially... "Marvel films have humor, therefore they are comedies and not comic book movies, therefore WB has better comic book movies."

What a stupid cop out. Some people are insane enough to convince themselves of dumb bullshit like that.

@DrManhattan

jimoakley666 - 2/21/2014, 1:14 PM
This film was ace. Really honoured what Lego is all about. You wouldn't really need the same cast or characters for it to work, either.
Dinotron - 2/21/2014, 1:16 PM
If that's your opinion than that's cool!

You just have to wait 2 more years till you like another CBM, because the next few will have comedy in in them, this you won't like them
Graz - 2/21/2014, 1:20 PM
Can't wait. The Lego Movie is awesome. Can't wait to watch it again on my 3DTV.
Jimbobatpool93 - 2/21/2014, 1:24 PM
I like the Marvel movies because they are "Fun" something that DC Movies aren't where is the fun or the light moments because the DC Movies are too serious .
smgmayhem - 2/21/2014, 1:26 PM
I'm just happy DC is finally moving forward with their properties in a massive way. but they should seriously consider splitting from Warner and forming their own studio to handle the movies themselves.
DrunkenNukem - 2/21/2014, 1:28 PM
2017?? damn seems so far away...the movie was so cool
smgmayhem - 2/21/2014, 1:33 PM
Watchmen has got to be the greatest one they've done that had the same grit and visual of the comic. But DC and Marvel have always had different styles when it came to their stories respectively.
ThePowerCosmic - 2/21/2014, 1:41 PM
DrManhatten

You have a very limited scope of comic books and movies. Time to branch out and grow beyond a few dark titles. I'm gonna guess you are around 14 to 17 years old. Am I right?
Gamera623 - 2/21/2014, 1:51 PM
The movie was excellent....but not every sucessful movie needs a sequel.

Lego Movie gets a 5/5 from me. Two Thumbs Up.

The idea of a sequel gets a big thumbs down though.
Ranger14 - 2/21/2014, 1:56 PM
The comic books I grew up reading all had great one-liners and comedy contained within the writing.

It looks like we may have the new reincarnation of Mantinium...hmmm
ThePowerCosmic - 2/21/2014, 2:48 PM
Ranger14

Absolutely! The word comic is in comic book for a reason. In no way shape or form does adding some comic relief disrespect a comic book film. The idea of that is crazy talk.

When I was 16 all I wanted was dark stuff...then I grew up and realized that is the most limiting kind of story telling.
JohnTom88 - 2/21/2014, 3:04 PM
If you're not a Child (which you're more likely a Grandpa because some DC partisans are more likely over dramatized, sentimental Geriatrics who thinks today is the 80's anyway), you would get over whether a CBM has too many humor or not.

It's the presentation and plot that are more important over the fact a CBM has more comedies or gloom & doom.
maninfinesuit - 2/21/2014, 3:11 PM
Saw the first today. Was really surprised by the quality and the wit. They've got my ticket for this.

Also, Marvel movies beat DC's simply because they know what the [frick] they want to be on a regular basis. That being said, I'm no blind fanboy and I do love me some Arrow.
Ramiel - 2/21/2014, 5:24 PM
Funny movie, but hated the ending.

Also, I think it's funny that @DrManhattan is bashing the MCU because they have humor in their movies, yet he's excited for the Lego Movie, which, last I remembered, has a LOT of humor.
Holmes - 2/21/2014, 5:55 PM
@Drmanhattan

I have to agree with you. MCU gets weaker with every movie bc they do the same format of balance with Story and Jokes. It gets old after everything we've seen. The DCCU movies have put out classic after classic. TDK trilogy is some of the best CBM ever made and Watchman was more true to a comic than most movies do. And even if you didnt like Man of Steel people, its still a classic bc Superman is the biggest Superhero in History, everyone knows who is his and his story and this movie brought it to another generation.

What about The MCU?
I'd say Ironman and Avengers are all they got as classic. Thor 1 &2 and Captain America used the same tactic of making it with the Jokes and Story as each other. Hopefully GOTG, Cap 2, Antman and Avengers 2 will break that trend. and Ironman 2 sucked and Ironman 3 was either The worst CBM or Average depending on who you ask. And the Hulk was horrible as dog shit and The Incredible Hulk was Alright then they changed the Actor of Bruce banner again which changes the tone of the hulk and throughs it off for me, even though i liked Mark, i think i enjoyed Edward norton a little more.

Now give it the DCCU had Green Lantern and that sucked but think of it as DCCU's Ironman 2.

Even though i enjoy The Marvel Movies, the last couple have been slacking for me, not doing anything different and depending jokes to make up for the lack of story. The different companies are going to do their films different ways and I understand the MCU has the same tone bc their all set in the same universe, but that doesnt mean i have to sit there and watch the Title superhero tell the same jokes over and over again. Humor isnt bad, but theres a difference between Jokes and beating a dead horse.

But guys, its okay to like both DC and Marvel, its not that hard to like Batman and Ironman.
mgeoff88 - 2/21/2014, 5:56 PM
I still haven't seen the first movie. 2017? Shit... I'll almost be 30 by then.
