If you're like me this movie was probably totally off your radar and the title alone made you roll your eyes,sink your shoulders, and sigh in exasperation, all in one glorious motion. It's not enough that we had "Cowboys vs Aliens", "Monsters vs Aliens", and for those you who find yourself awake at 4:00 am scraping the bottom of the barrel on Netflix know, "Aliens vs Ninjas", no now we have "Dinosaurs vs Aliens".

The project, which started as a graphic novel but was always intended to be a movie, has been a collaborative effort between Barry Sonnenfield (director of MIB3) and Grant Morrison. For those wondering how a photo realistic CG movie without any humans could work, well Mr. Sonnenfield does his best to allay concerns such as those.

First, we have to sell the project. We’re going out to LA in about 6 weeks with a pre-vis and our script, to see who wants to buy into it. We’ve already had lots of ideas. The aliens speak in a way [that] you can understand them. And the dinosaurs — they actually have a certain amount of culture, through grunts and doing stuff with their bodies and sticks. We believe that the Dinosaurs had culture. They didn’t speak, but they did have other ways of communicating. It won’t be a problem, and it will be pretty fantastic.

[The dinosaurs] learn from the aliens. They’re very smart — that’s one of the things about the dinosaurs. That makes them possibly the way they really were. They have rudimentary [weapons], but they learn as they go along from the aliens.

@RFBD: I sort of envy stoners but value my cognitive functions, weed does do more than 3D to make any movie awesome...

@BJD

Agreed, from a medical standpoint it's no worse from consuming too much alcohol. Actually in some aspects it's better for you. But you are right, it can damage short term memory centers in the brain (yet oddly enough it stimulates increased activity in the long term portions in Alzheimer's patients). However early in college (before I became a really serious student), there were many a movies I went see that marijuana helped improved the quality of. Alas, those days are gone, and in my profession I can't be caught with any trace of it in my system for various ethical (and legal) ramifications.

However when I am retired (hopefully around 65 or depending on when I want to stop doing what I love), I'm moving back to California, getting a medicinal marijuana card, and living out my golden years in pure bliss.

@TeleVizion: you're right, we're dumber than animals...that's why we rule them.
