Expendables sequel is under way in Bulgaria. Sadly, a stuntman was killed and another was seriously injured while filming an explosive scene. The injured man has undergone a 5-hour surgery and was listed as "stable" by local authorities.
Police said Friday the two men, whose names and nationalities were not disclosed, were performing a stunt involving an explosion on an inflatable boat on the Ognyanovo dam, just outside the capital, Sofia. The incident occurred late Thursday.
Expendables 2 sees the re-teaming of popular action stars including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren. The film also added the likes of Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme and new-comer Liam Hemsworth. Mickey Rourke recently announced that he would not be returning to the franchise. The film is being directed by Simon West.
