According to a Brazilian journalist in her tweet Ben Affleck is NOT Batman any more.

The Brazilian journalist Ana Maria Bahiana, foreign correspondent of entertainment for three decades in Los Angeles (and also a member of the Foreign Press Association of Hollywood), warned on Twitter hours ago that she heard, from reliable sources, that Ben Affleck will not be the Batman.

Translation:

"I just know from a good source - Ben Affleck will not be Batman. Fan reaction was too strong. Official announcement in a few months."

One reason would be the "negative" response from fans of the hero, who was too strong.

Warner is studying for months a way to resolve this, the studio knows perfectly well for those who are making the movie (us) and knows exactly the risk that if not please the crowd.

The announcement of the new release date of the project - 2016 - was part of this strategy, a way of gaining time to choose the new Batman and make the anti-Affleck cool down.

The question is how to make the switch so that it does not look that they are bowing to the likes and dislikes of fans.

In a few months, Snyder and Affleck will have a "creative divergence" and / or Affleck will have a "scheduling conflict" with the new production schedule.

And who assumes the mask now? According to her some names have heard so far: as Josh Brolin and again...Michael Keaton.

.

UPDATE 1:

As you know the the Brazilian journalist Ana Maria Bahiana, which covers years ago Hollywood and is one of the "foreign" journalists who vote at the Golden Globes reported that Ben Affleck will not be the new Batman.

It was enough to provoke a heated discussion on Twitter with El Mayimbe, from the site Latino Review, who usually do these things and do not like to see another journalist do the same as he always does.

According to El Mayimbe, the story is a lie. None of his sources confirm the rumor. But Bahiana ensures that in a few months Warner will confirm the news.

UPDATE 2:

And for last a NEW tweet about the OLD Playboy interview:

Translation:
"this decision was made some time ago. I doubt that they change their minds. what is studying now is how to manage this change."

I love the smell of BS in the morning.
JordanKing - 1/26/2014, 11:28 AM
Why build people's hope up like that?
P862010 - 1/26/2014, 11:28 AM
lol yeah sure you think Hollywood would change casting because of fan negativity lol
TheRationalNerd - 1/26/2014, 11:29 AM
BS!!!!! lol

But if so I wouldn't mind Joe Manganiello getting the part. He's the second person I imagined being the next Batman next to Affleck and that other guy who's good with stunts and etc. I really can't remember his name but he had a good feel as batman as well.

But again, this has to be false! lol The rumors surrounding this movie are insane!

BOO Shiiit!
npamusic - 1/26/2014, 11:30 AM

What a load of rubbish!!

For starters, despite the movie being pushed back, filming hasn't actually been delayed, and all cast and crew were expected on the orginial dates, so there is no way they would wait 'Months' before announcing a new Batman.

Also, if anything fan reaction has died down a lot, and I think people have come around to the idea...they certainly wouldn't wait until now.

If every actor quit due to fan reaction, no film would ever get made.
Knightrider - 1/26/2014, 11:32 AM
@BlackNerd I think Joe would look too much like Cavill. If it was true, which it isn't, then I think I would like to see Jim Cavelli (Person of Interest guy) Don the cape and cowl
Enphlieuwince - 1/26/2014, 11:32 AM
This better be a lie or even the eye of the shitstorm will be chaotic. I don't believe this...
ReeferInferno - 1/26/2014, 11:35 AM
They have to get rid of Gal Gadot, Affleck is fine but Gadot has to go.
charlie2094 - 1/26/2014, 11:36 AM
Absolutely untrue...no way this is happening, besides, Affleck is brilliant for the role, be silly not to use him, can't think of any better choices...fan reaction won't change a thing, that's what "fans" do about everything...always have and always will...

Be a great loss if they do lose Affleck, definitely calling BS on this

Bekss - 1/26/2014, 11:37 AM
This seems like BS but the scheduling conflict could be real.
First Live by Night and now the pilot he was going to direct.
It wouldn't be a surprise if this is true. And would kill the hopes of the back to back filming.
DarkGrifter - 1/26/2014, 11:37 AM
If her reason was that "the fan's reaction was too strong" then I don't buy it.
ReeferInferno - 1/26/2014, 11:37 AM
But yeah, this is a load of rubbish.
Enphlieuwince - 1/26/2014, 11:40 AM
@Knightrider

Caviezel could work but I'd rather Anson Mount if I had to endure another actor. He's very convincing in Hell on Wheels

Bekss - 1/26/2014, 11:45 AM
This is not from Elmayimbe. It's just someone with 3 decades in her job. BULLSHIT

Just kidding.
Dmon - 1/26/2014, 11:47 AM
They should keep Affleck I was not a fan of it originally but have come around. But if they do recast they should go with someone around Cavill's age. I honestly have never liked the idea of going with a Batman that is way older then Superman.
MisterMoustache - 1/26/2014, 11:51 AM
Look, Ana is a serious journalist and she's a geat film critic. If she ran with the story, she believed the source. And I believe she was naive, because that story is pure nonsense.

Michael Keaton is being considered to take the role? You lost me here. NO WAY IN HELL!
kevberg - 1/26/2014, 11:53 AM
bullllllshhhhh@tttttttttttt!

They've got him in costume, fitted and ready to go. They wouldn't have gotten this far if it weren't ready to go.

The only thing that concerned me was the "injury" he had, that would be the duck and run time, and it seems clear that has passed.
NYCGEEK - 1/26/2014, 11:53 AM
So the TC took this info from a "wordsmith; professional observer; dancer with a broken knee; amateur singer."? Funny.
ManCalledSting - 1/26/2014, 11:55 AM
OMG NO BATFLECK IS BATMAN ANYMORE???!?!!!!??........*sniffs air* Oh it's just hoarse shit.
MsDarkPhoenix - 1/26/2014, 11:56 AM
Great! They should cast Clooney instead, best Batman ever!

Jk, Phoenix says BULLSHIT!!
ManCalledSting - 1/26/2014, 11:57 AM
They wouldn't have waited this long, and gone this far, if fan reaction caused them to back out.
kevberg - 1/26/2014, 11:58 AM
BTW.. Josh brolin is Sh@t and would be ass.
DoctorAlgernopKrieger - 1/26/2014, 12:01 PM
Warner's has already paid too much damn money on Pre-Production and fittings alone to dump Affleck, let alone the fact that the role is too big too step out. Affleck wouldn't quit, Warner's spent too much money to fire him. Not to mention it's a big name star who's actually got talent as opposed to any other muscle head they might hire.
LEEE777 - 1/26/2014, 12:03 PM
Yo Rob :p

Anyways fingers crossed, he'd make a good Batman I suppose but a horrible Bruce Wayne, still time will tell. :p
quasi95 - 1/26/2014, 12:06 PM
wow idk if this turns out to be true (which im 99% sure it isnt) I am not going to put up with this movie anymore [frick] this shit. Then again thats if this even true which i doubt.
kevberg - 1/26/2014, 12:08 PM
I would think Gal Gadot, at this point, would be the one thats gotten too much heat.

The ONLY, scenario I could see is if Zack and Ben had butted heads over Direction, but they havent even started actual filming.

Seems like it would be too much bad publicity. Injury, Delay, Ben dropping/forced out.
ALegendaryPanda - 1/26/2014, 12:09 PM
BULL

ALegendaryPanda - 1/26/2014, 12:09 PM
SHIT!!!!
Nenured - 1/26/2014, 12:15 PM
@ReeferInferno

Go and feed your wife, if you have one
Insomnia - 1/26/2014, 12:15 PM
The more things that i hear about this movie, since the delay, the more it feels like it is not worth to hope soon. If Ben (hypotechnacly) have dropped out, then it probably a sign that this production is extremly [frick]ed up, and we have to wait to God knows how long before we se the Trinity of DC Comics on the screen together. Warner seems to have a curse about they trying to do team up movies.

1. Justice Leauge Mortal - Cancelled
2. Will Beals Justice Leauge script - Cancelled
3. Batman vs Superman delayed to 2016 for reason we don't jet.
batman1216 - 1/26/2014, 12:20 PM
This is obviously bullshit. At this point Ben Affleck is obviously way too connected and invested in the role. Everyone from Kevin Smith to his wife has commented on his new suit and its obvious he isn't going anywhere. After such initial shock and disappointment I calmed down and thought about the possibilities and am very excited and invested in Ben Affleck playing the character. I think he is going to do a fantastic job and shut a lot of people up. I would be more disappointed if Ben doesn't play the part now.
