"We're really introducing Darkseid in a different way...as a dark force," he revealed in a recent interview with TV Guide. "He is kind of a parallel to evil that will start to overtake the world and sends hearts and souls towards a darker agenda."
The producer then went on to talk about how the iconic DC villain will for now be represented just by his minions, the Harbingers, in future episodes:
"We're personifying the Harbingers. Like Granny Goodness. Desaad makes a couple of quick appearances, as does Gordon Godfrey, so we're not going to actually see the embodiment of Darkseid himself for a while. We're saving that."
"That part I can't really promise because we have yet to completely break the end of the season," Peterson said when asked whether or not Darkseid will be portrayed by either an actor or via CGI.
"But what I can say is that I think his appearance will be a great payoff to what we've planted."
