Reese Witherspoon Has No Interest In Doing A Superhero Movie!

The bad news for any of CBM's great fan casters who've had Reese Witherspoon in mind for a role in a superhero movie is that the actress has ZERO interest in doing one...

A lot of the news I usually post here on CBM is actors and actresses expressing their interest in some sort of superhero role. I'm sure you all remember the numerous unknowns who put their names forward for Captain America and Spider-Man, while bigger named stars are associated with roles like that on an almost daily basis.



That's what makes the following bit of news a little strange. Reese Witherspoon (who I've often seen cast as one character or another over in "Fan Fic") told Entertainment Weekly that she is not interested in appearing in any future superhero movies, as there are no roles which suit her age!

"The movies that are being made feel different. There are a lot of really, really, really big movies about robots and things - and there's not a part for a 34-year-old woman in a robot movie. I've never done the superhero movie. That doesn't interest me too much."


What do you guys thinks? Is there a certain age that an actor/actress reaches that makes then unsuitable to play a superhero or star in an action movie? Robert Downey Jr is surely a perfect example of this rule not applying, but what about for a woman? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

good...Ive never been a fan of hers...she has pretty much sucked since the beginning...super hero movies are too good for her anyways...besides...aren't they looking for actresses with talent to be in these movies?

how the hell does this make what's new, but the longer Thor trailer i posted somehow not make it? who hell cares if she doesn't want to do a superhero movie. leave them to people who care...aka NOT FOX!!!!!!!! lol.

besides she is just being stupid, she may get a part in a comic movie and not even know it's a comic book movie.

I can't imagine which role she would play. She's limited, has too much chin, and a mild lisp. This is good news.

She has no interest in that type of film, until some studio offers her the right amount of money to be in one. Like almost every other actor or actress, her interests are directly related to her checking account.

She's still a good actress I say. There's a reason she's an Oscar winner and multiple Golden Globe/Oscar nominee.

Although I know that she's been suggested for a handful of roles in the past (can't for the life of me recall exeactly who they were though) I have to agree with the majority that her not wanting to do a superhero movie is no great loss! As HAWKS points out though, offer her enough cash and she'd soon be talking about how much of a comic book movie fan she is! :P

There is a God. I wouldn't want her in any CBM anyways unless she's in a supporting capacity only and NOT the lead character. Don't get me wrong, she's a great actress for the genre she plays.

haha, how did I know we would get the "Screw you, you suck anyway!" shit. She isn't interested in CBMs..lets stone the bitch! Anyway, she does not suck. She was great in Walk The Line and Election for 2, although she generally doesn't make a lot of stuff I would be interested in.
