[frick]ing awesome but I really wanna see more pics from the movie (something we haven't seen) or a 2nd trailer; one that "wows" me…I hope WB isn't insecure about the actual movie.

I really want this movie to do/be really good seeing how GL is in my top five favorite comic book characters.
BruceWayneNewton - 2/10/2011, 9:39 AM

Angelus - 2/10/2011, 9:55 AM
Awesome! Kilowog looks massive! He is a powerhouse without a doubt. And Sinestro looks gloating, superior. And that power battery and ring. Ooooh my!

Just a question, on the handle of the powerbattery- is that inscribement the sinestro corp logo only made more ancient? There's something there!
Drelyon - 2/10/2011, 9:56 AM

davidcub - 2/10/2011, 11:46 AM
People are STILL [female dog]ing about the CGI in the trailer? LMAO! I don't think these busts were made with the intention of winning over DC hating Marvel fans.
ComicBookGoth - 2/10/2011, 12:17 PM
is the Handle on the power battery made of Wood ???

if so alan scott is gonna be pissed.
GarthRanzz - 2/10/2011, 12:35 PM
Yeah Witness. Sure they are. It's not like the back of every GL issue isn't coming with pictures from the upcoming movie. It's not like there isn't announcements of new merchande like every day. It's not like GL isn't going to be a happy meal toy this summer at McDonalds. Can you tell me how WB is failing?
deathoncredit - 2/10/2011, 12:44 PM
I think that WB are marketing geniuses. They're not giving everyone what they want, they're just giving us a taste through merchandising, and bringing up demand for pictures from the actual movie. Once we get closer to the release date, and the CGI is touched up, they're going to blow us (and Cap and Thor) away.
thatiscrazy - 2/10/2011, 12:55 PM
WACK! and im not even a DC hater =P
CapFan79 - 2/10/2011, 1:02 PM
@GarthRanzz Putting movie adds on the back of GL comics isn't gonna help. If you're reading GL then you'll see it anyway. Just becuase there's toys in Happy meals doesn't mean a kid will want to see it. My kid get lots of crap from all kinds of movies he's never seen or gonna see from McD's. Marmaduke had Happy Meal toys!

Merch doesn't "sell" a movie. You buy merch because the movie sold you!

Like I said before my kid has no interest in this at the moment. These types of films rely on kids as much as they do CBM fans. He knows GL from JL, but compared to Cap, TF3 and Thor he isn't interested. Toys won't make you see a movie. A good trailer will do that. If the characters in the film look more like these busts then it'll look a lot better since the costumes looked all green in the trailer.
GarthRanzz - 2/10/2011, 1:16 PM
What would you like them to do?

Blow millions, 5 and half months before the movie comes out, drowning it out as everyone talks Transformers and Cowboys and Aliens?

We have four major CBM's coming out this year. Only two have a trailer. One had a commerical, and the fourth (Xmen First Class) hasn't done much, but probably will be one of the top 2 grossers of this summer in the manner of CBM's (I don't count Transformers), based on name recognition.
GarthRanzz - 2/10/2011, 1:20 PM
Xenix, can you send me links to the Xmen First Class trailer and Captain America trailer (not the tv commercial). I might be missing something since Marvel is promoting the hell out of their movies. By the way is there a new Thor ride going in at Disney World like there is a GL ride going in at Six Flags?
Highball - 2/10/2011, 1:22 PM
@ MrNoFear -- Hahahahahahahah! That last bit made me laugh, now I'm teary eyed...
mainstream05 - 2/10/2011, 1:33 PM
Seeing these busts really do make me wish the dark green on Ryan's costume were black instead of dark green. Maybe it's a recruit thing. The longer a GL possesses his ring sort of thing. I know that's just wishful thinking, but that is the only "problem" I have with the suit. I love the organic, alien, CGI look - I just wish it were green and black instead of green and dark green.
SWonder916 - 2/10/2011, 1:48 PM
Has it occurred to anybody that this is probably what the suits are gonna be looking like by the time post-production's finished up??I mean why else would they be advertising and gearing up to sell "replica" statues and merchandise from the film if this isn't what it's gonna look like??Key word being "replica" meaning - A copy that is relatively indistinguishable from the original...And since it seems like everyone's pretty happy with these designs it looks like DC's got their heads on straight thanks to us,salutes to DC/WB!!
Hiraga08 - 2/10/2011, 1:50 PM
Those look pretty damn good. I'll have to get one or two.
