Bradley Cooper Confirms That The A-Team 2 Is Unlikely To Happen!

Despite Liam Neeson's recent revelation that he'd like to return for a second installment of the franchise, his co-star has now let it slip that the chances of that happenning are very slim indeed...

Speaking to Empire Online earlier today for a webchat with fans, the Limitless star was quizzed on the chances of a sequel to 2010's, The A-Team.

"I loved it too. But unfortunately, outside of you, a few of your friends and myself, there just wasn't enough revenue to supply a second instalment of that franchise."

"Well, there's nothing planned at the minute, but the studios certainly aren't saying no."

"I personally would love to get on the horse again, you know? With Bradley and Sharlto and Rampage - we all would. But with the studios and the studio system it's a question of dollars and cents."

In total, the movie took $77 million at the US box office and $100 million worldwide. The budget was $67 million, and when you take away the cost of marketing, the movie really was not that successful. Liam Neeson recently said that he thought the lack of money may have had something to do with it being released during the World Cup opening weekend.

Eh, too bad.
MaddMonkk - 3/10/2011, 1:10 PM
Bradley Cooper needs to concentrate on his Guy Gardner role anyways!!!! (wouldn't that be sweet)
LOL - 3/10/2011, 1:11 PM
Too bad. I thought it was a pretty good update to the original TV series in spite of its detractors.
Jagfan28 - 3/10/2011, 1:19 PM
Does Bradley Cooper refer to himself in the last quote?
TorturedXGenius - 3/10/2011, 1:31 PM
the budget was 110million after tax rebate it was 100 million. either way...studios make more percentage wise on domestic revenue but money is money. i argue The Losers >> A-Team movie but A-Team movie was a fun movie..i wouldnt mind a sequel.
write33 - 3/10/2011, 1:35 PM
i loved that show and hated the movie. loathed it.

the movie was a bizarre deconstruction of the show..it blows up the van (let's be honest, the van was the team's 5th member) in the first 10 minutes and NEVER brings it back, it removes Hannibal as the 'man with the plan' at the end by having Face mastermind the finale.

this is a sad example of a movie made by people with zero care or respect for source material. I am glad no sequel is coming.

note: i will say this. it was well cast. take those same 4 actors in a story that follows the ground rules of the show and I'm happy.
RoadDogXXIV - 3/10/2011, 1:36 PM
Well, how about Greg Kinnear as Face? He has the everyday man charm that Dirk Benedict portrayed in the 80's TV show.
BruceWayneNewton - 3/10/2011, 1:37 PM
i actually really enjoyed this movie. Not oscar worthy but definitely a fun movie.
StrangerX - 3/10/2011, 1:38 PM
I'm sorry didn't Liam Neeson already say that this was not gonna happen
LEEE777 - 3/10/2011, 1:40 PM
Good, because they totally took what made THE A-TEAM great and sh1T all over it!

An didn't need a new modern setting either... BA was the worst, horrible!!!

Needed TERRY CREWS (like I've always said) for that role!

BRADLEY COOPER FOR GUY GARDNER!

MaddMonkk @ You know it buddy, hellz yeah!!!
RorMachine - 3/10/2011, 1:44 PM
can someone please tell me what was good about that movie? Aside from any sense of nostalgia that it may have brought about?
write33 - 3/10/2011, 1:50 PM
@RorMachine

after 117 minutes, it ends. ;-)
Deadshot - 3/10/2011, 1:53 PM
The A team has always been primarily camp based, when you take away the camp (and the coolest theme song ever) and make it serious it just doesn't feel right.
WhiteDragon66 - 3/10/2011, 1:59 PM
OK IM PROBABLY GONNA GET SKINNED BUT THAT MOVIE ROCKED THE A-TEAM FLICK CAPTURED THE SPIRIT OF THE SERIES IMO. NEESON AS WAS GREAT AS WAS THE REST OF THE CAST IDGAS WHAT ANY 1 THINKS
selinakyle - 3/10/2011, 2:06 PM
Thank God. That movie was atrocious.
skullboy - 3/10/2011, 2:07 PM
That sucks! Moviegoers just HAD to see that Karate Kid remake, didn't they? Screw those of you who hated it.
marvel72 - 3/10/2011, 2:12 PM
excellent, the first one was a pile of shit.
EditNinja - 3/10/2011, 2:13 PM
Good. Now he can do The Flash

Deadshot - 3/10/2011, 2:17 PM
Ya the budget was actually 110 million not 67...kind of a big difference there. So it's profit after you take away the films cost was 60 million or something. Which when you compare Expendables profit (200 million) you can see why there's plenty of talk of an expendables sequel and not an "A Team 2"

gorgeousgeeks - 3/10/2011, 4:19 PM
My dad really loved it. He saw it, then called us up to come to the theater and paid for me and more of my sisters to see it, then he went to see it with my uncle the next day. It was just alright for me.
AvengersAssemble - 3/10/2011, 5:12 PM
Too bad the first one was horrible and failed on every single conceivable level you can examine a movie.
LEEE777 - 3/10/2011, 6:02 PM

I Loved The A Team.. ALot Better Than Most CBM's... or Movies In General... Since When Does Everyone Enjoy The Same Thing outside of Kick Ass and Watchmen and Anything Nolan Makes... I thought it was a pretty good update to the original TV series in spite of its detractors... You Will Never See Bradley Cooper Wearing tight's for sum fanboy dreams.. What MAde It horrible ?? Alot Didn't like it after the first trailer... really cant pay those people no attention at this point...
NeoBaggins - 3/10/2011, 6:27 PM
That's what his bichass get for being a baby about Flash. So now it's all down hill from here.
JaySin420 - 3/10/2011, 7:02 PM
A-Team was nowhere near as bad as most people say. For a dumb action movie, it was pretty good. I can understand die hard A-Team fans not liking it, but I'm really shocked it didn't do much better.
NeoBaggins - 3/10/2011, 7:20 PM
JaySin420 I would have bet money (and lost) that the Expendables would kill the A-Team. I rented A-Team to watch sarcastically and found that I liked it more than the Expendables. I vowed to see what I thought was an inevetable sequel in theatres this time. Guess not.
Hyblade - 3/10/2011, 7:27 PM
I loved the A-Team, people only didn't bother to see it becoz they wanted to see Expendables.. Not me though, I had fun (watching both XD)
SuperSomething616 - 3/11/2011, 1:07 AM
The A-team film was good...fook off everyone that didnt think so you obviously clearly didnt understand...the casting was top notch...Liam Neeson was excellent as Hannibal...it was a modern take on the original concept...it had all the ridiculousness of the original series but without the cheesyness...I really hope they make a sequel as it will show the A-team as soldiers of fortune, equaling more Van...Face's car and definately a bigger box office film...Nuff Said!!
Grimm - 3/11/2011, 4:03 AM
