Last week, it was revealed that the movie had a director and now, we have the news that Bradley Cooper is in talks for the leading role in the upcoming reboot. Here is an excerpt from the report over at The Hollywood Reporter.

Bradley Cooper is in early negotiations to star in Relativity’s remake of The Crow, being directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

In the adaptation of the gritty black-and-white indie comic by artist James O'Barr, Cooper will play a rock musician who is murdered while trying to save his fiancée from thugs. He is resurrected by supernatural forces and seeks revenge. The role was originally played by Brandon Lee, who was killed by a freak accident during production in 1993.

What do you think? Is Bradley Cooper a good choice for the role, or do you have someone better in mind? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

AlexDeLarge87 - 4/12/2011, 3:34 PM

ummmmm idk how i feel about this, i wont even watch any of th eother crow movies, they all looked like shit shit and shit
DannyDreg - 4/12/2011, 3:42 PM
I think Cooper is too old and not 'Rock N' Roll' enough for the Eric Draven version of The Crow.
Forilaz - 4/12/2011, 3:44 PM
Hilarious.
marvel72 - 4/12/2011, 3:44 PM
they should write a new crow story don't reboot the original, its a fitting tribute to the late brandon lee.
comicbookjerk - 4/12/2011, 3:46 PM
I like Bradley Cooper but.....why the crow? Thats a terrible idea.......
AsianAvenger - 4/12/2011, 3:48 PM
Joseph Gordon Levitt!!!!
imnotwearinghockeypants - 4/12/2011, 3:48 PM
I agree with Grif. No need to redo Eric Draven's story. There are tons of different stories that could be told within the context of the Crow.
SuperSpiderMan5778 - 4/12/2011, 4:00 PM
fawk no he's a horrible choice and yes i agree JGL should be the Crow especially after he's going to play Joker in TDKR hahaha man that would be awesome.
phoe1 - 4/12/2011, 4:04 PM
PERFECT CAST FOR THE CROW REMAKE:
MARK DACASCOS
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001092/

he already played the crow in the tv series. its just logic.

thedarkknight666 - 4/12/2011, 4:08 PM
he just might suprise us pepole thought micheal keaton was not dark anuf for batman and boy where they wrong
DarthTesla - 4/12/2011, 4:08 PM
WRONG. I like Bradley Cooper a lot, but this seems like a bad choice. I'd rather see an unknown get the part, or maybe (if he got some acting classes in), Steven Strait, from 10,000 BC.
deanwilkins - 4/12/2011, 4:08 PM
I've seen the Crow so many times, I almost have the entire film memorized. Definitely one of my favorites, so I hope they do it justice. I think Cooper could be a good fit for the role, so long as they don't make it too similar to the one with Brandon Lee.
DarthTesla - 4/12/2011, 4:09 PM
@phoe1- I like the guy, but he's totally just The Chairman now, which is his best role yet lol.
PapaMidnight - 4/12/2011, 4:15 PM
grif is right.
Gbpackman - 4/12/2011, 4:18 PM
Better then Marky Mark
Vital - 4/12/2011, 4:26 PM
He has the same face shape and head, and body build. As soon as he has the makeup on, he will look pretty close. Just has to grow his hair out longer and walla.
Owlman88 - 4/12/2011, 4:26 PM
TNAs wrestler Sting :P
nuck82 - 4/12/2011, 4:32 PM
lol looks like a mime, [frick] the french!!!
thewanderer - 4/12/2011, 4:41 PM
I like Bradley Cooper, but this would be bad casting.
FlappyJax - 4/12/2011, 4:47 PM
JGL or Hunnam for sure. Preferably JGL, since the role would fit him like a glove. Check out the movies Brick and The Lookout. He's an amazing actor, is physically ideal and even sings!
WellDrawn - 4/12/2011, 4:48 PM
Please tell me this movie's being sponsored by Hot Topic...
reverendjonnynemo - 4/12/2011, 4:52 PM
I'm a Bradley Cooper fan myself, so I tried a quick and dirty photo manip... I dunno if I can buy it...

Um seriously going to slap anyone who throws johnny depp into any role in the future it's really annoying.
skullboy - 4/12/2011, 4:58 PM
Ehh..I dunno.
HellsHammer - 4/12/2011, 5:05 PM

Id rather have the guy who played the Jock in American Pie
Kurbbsyde - 4/12/2011, 5:05 PM
I really dont think the reboot should be done. But if they must just get Marc Dacascos. He worked it alrigth in the TV show based on what was given. Allow him to be the gritty dark one that it should have been if you have to have this reboot
Hood28 - 4/12/2011, 5:07 PM
johnny depp like 15 years ago maybe
Kurbbsyde - 4/12/2011, 5:09 PM
@thedarkknight666 - Your statement rings true in most circles. I think Heath Ledger would be a better example though honestly because some people including me never though Micheal Keaton was a good Batman.
Kurbbsyde - 4/12/2011, 5:13 PM
Oddly enough I agree with Grif for the first time very heartfully. That was kinda what was a good thing about the Crow, could have many story possibilities without using the same exact character. Eric Draven was a vehicle for The Crow not The Crow itself so well stated Grif
optimus69 - 4/12/2011, 5:22 PM
@ grif love the cival war idea
but i hate the bradley cooper idea his goofey grin and cheesy ass attitude isnt rite for the dreary somber vengeful tone of the crow
Deckline14 - 4/12/2011, 5:29 PM
Hey all. I have been a long time reader of the site but reading this news has made me sign up and say PLEASE NO! why cant Hollywood leave the Crow and think of a new idea instead of rehashing something that has been done before. Next they will want to re-do Scarface and The Godfather!
CrossOver - 4/12/2011, 5:42 PM
Id like to see him tackle this.
Not everyone liked Ledger when he was picked for the Joker.
themayer88 - 4/12/2011, 6:01 PM
I think agree with the general concensis here. i like Bradley Cooper. i think he could be cool in a Comic Book Movie (possibly Flash or Guy Gardner), but The Crow?...nahhh....
I think that The Crow is already kinda played out too. I meen arent theyre already about 3 other Crow movies that noone gives a shit about ALready...
Bryanferryfan - 4/12/2011, 6:07 PM
@Teabag....errr... DOUCHEBAG..you rotten, stained maxi pad. You don't know jack about casting or film-making. The only real skill you have is applying ultra-wide maxi pads to your mother's rotten hooch. STFU and stop bytchin'.
yankeemanf - 4/12/2011, 6:26 PM
nooooooooooooooooo i like cooper a lot but he isnt the crow....the crow can only be played by either Joseph Gordon Levitt or jared leto imo
JGreenbeastofOH - 4/12/2011, 6:41 PM
I don't care if he plays the crow just as long as it's not a reboot, that was Brandon Lee's last work (and he did a damn good job LEAVE IT ALONE)don't redo Eric Draven, do something original!!!
SciFiLuvr - 4/12/2011, 6:45 PM
I don't care about the impact on the Crow series, this is just a plain bad career move on Cooper's part. He's in that dodgy area where he's not quite taken seriously as a movie star and could end up as a future Vince Vaughn. He needs more Limitless type movies and less Hangover comedies and obscure comic book movies.
Roland - 4/12/2011, 6:57 PM
@GRIF- Nobody ever gives you props for your positive comments.
dcoctavarium - 4/12/2011, 7:17 PM
really bad choice for the crow. Heck even Robert Pattinson would play a better Crow.
whoa123 - 4/12/2011, 7:22 PM
Uhm, F*ck no! Jared Leto or JGL for The Crow!!
