First Look At Footage From Upcoming Green Lantern Animated Series!

Produced by Bruce Timm, Green Lantern: The Animated Series will be a part of Cartoon Network's original programming. The CGI based show will feature Josh Keaton as Hal Jordan, with characters Kilowog, the Guardians of the Universe, Carol Ferris, Salaak, Sayd, Saint Walker, and Zilius Zox confirmed to appear. The main antagonists of the show will be the Red Lantern Corps, led by the villain Atrocitus, and the Manhunters.



Green Lantern: The Animated Series is expected to premiere at the end of 2011, after the film's release. The movie which stars Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, Blake Lively as Carol Ferris and Mark Strong as Sinestro, director Martin Campbell's Green Lantern is set to be released in 3D on June 17, later this year!

JOSH KEATON as Hal Jordan??? Wow. I actually thought they would've gotten someone like Adam Baldwin (who briefly played Hal in Justice League Unlimited) to play Hal.

Looks cool. I mean, shit; they can't make every cartoon for adults. Damn. DC is pretty good with their animated stuff. It's just the live-action they can't get out the gate with.

It is NOT the music of the Green Lantern cartoon, how do people still not realize this.

Who posted this article should really add a blurb about how they just took one clip edited out of a whole block of Cartoon Network shows.
If you’re going to edit a clip out of context, at least put the context In the description and say where it came from.

Hmmm, not sure about the animation style. Might have to grow on me. Took awhile to get use to Samurai Jack when it first was out, but I loved it after awhile.

Honestly, amazed to even see a GL animated series. I find that awesome in itself. I'll wait to see how the first few episodes go before judging it. Since that was only literally a 7 second clip.

If Bruce Timm is involved, that's all I really need to know.

It's hard to judge based on such short footage, but it does look a bit iffy. We'll see though. Let's wait to judge until we see more substantial footage.

I thought that ridiculous looking Batman Bold and Brave was going to be shit too. The crazy stories are actually written quite well and I found myself watching it if it's on. Young Justice is great qualty though. But obviously they were going for different style.

Why does everyone not have enough insight to realize that this is a version of GL specifically geared toward the very younger audience. Just like Batman Bold and the Brave which is also terrible. They're doing a more mature animated series as well, but this one will run during prime little kid hours.

well I have good faith in bruce timm and so far anything related to animation WB has done really well,whether it's dvd movies or tv series.So I think this will be good.

batmanbruce I agree. WB have the animation thing on lock down. The DVD movies are awesome. I rented Wonder Woman sarcastically and was blown away. They've been representing the DC characters in animation nicely for a long time.

I'm not into the DC VS MARVEL bullshit, but I notice how people never mention SUPERHERO SQUAD when they rant about awful, dumb down, baby shit. The HULK was dressed as a Dutch hooker in one episode. If you're not mad at that, you should LOVE this new show.

@neo - don't you love how any time you try to say something intelligent, you're ignored?

you're right, the superhero squad thing is the most godawful series i've ever seen on tv. my 8 year old thinks it's boring and my 11 year old thinks it's retarded. but as you said, a good little fanboy will just pretend that show doesn't exist.

with Bruce Timm and co. making it, I expected good animation like the animated DC movies, Batman TAS, Superman, and Justice league. I'll still watch it but the animation is under expectation.

@AlternateNo4- Agreed, Superhero Squad was good for some nice action figures for my kids to take on roadtrips, but the TV show made my kids stop playing with those toys.

It seems like Bruce Timm is testing the waters on the animation direction with this series. I hope it works but the style used for Batman: TAS, the Superman series and Justice League to me was great. Don't mess with perfection Bruce. These shows are why you are where you are today. I will be watching, at least until I have reason to turn the channel.

Incredible! I loved that short clip but I really want to see a much LONGER trailer. I'm really looking forward to when this Green Lantern show airs. Besides, I really admire Bruce Timm.

For a while I'd given up on Cartoon Network. But now I'm seriously impressed with the channel as they've gotten back to the roots of great programming with Star Wars The Clone Wars, Young Justice, Adventure Time, Ben10 and Regular Show.

ok how is BATB bad...all it does is bring back the old days of comics. Batman wasn't always super dark. The Animated series and BATB are 2 different versions of batman. GET OVER IT
