The veteran actor told The Belfast Telegraph that he was "very impressed" by his British co-star, Andrew Garfield, in a recent interview.

"It's a different phenomenon, these young stars that are coming up," he added. "I was very impressed with him because of his commitment and his discipline, and he's a very sweet young man too."

As for how his work on the movie as Spider-Man's Uncle Ben Parker has been going so far, he said: "I've filmed all the scenes in California and I have to go to New York in April and May and film the final parts that I have to do. It's great fun."

With an all star cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

i love martin... but this movie... im just very leery for some reason....

i guess im just once bitten, twice shy when it comes to the spider-man movies (pun intended)

I think the suit looks fine. Martin Sheen is [frick]ing awesome!
Dynamo - 5/6/2011, 4:10 PM
Those first two pics look pretty cool.
Spyder3355 - 5/6/2011, 4:11 PM
i like alot about the suit, but i also hate alot too. i dont like the back too much, especially the random break in the back at the top for the spider emblem. the way the red connects to the gloves from the shoulders isnt too appealing either. i would have rather the glove not connect at all, sort of have the red on the torso look more like a tunic on the shoulders. i really like the material though, and the tone of the colors. oh well, to each his own

The Tobey version was more traditional, direct transition from comics to screen. But the silver web-lining made me think of the silver Bat-suit from the Schumacher batman.

I like the new suit.
Frogman - 5/6/2011, 4:16 PM
I have no problem with the suit, I think this film is going in a great direction and people shouldn't let the suit (if they don't like it) take away from their enjoyment of the movie.
AlexDeLarge87 - 5/6/2011, 4:16 PM
Thats one tight ass!!;)

The suit is growing on me

CraptainAmerica - 5/6/2011, 4:19 PM
I can understand reservations but Webb did say (the story was on this site) that the costume was engineered specifically for 3D.

Your guess is as good as mine. I'm sure it'll work out just fine. When condeming it just remember the first time you saw the Green Lantern costume in the first released footage...it sucked...now...it looks the [frick]in business
nuck82 - 5/6/2011, 4:19 PM
someone should do a side by side of the set photos of the new and old spidy outfit, because we all know it will look very diff on screen, if i knew how i would do it
RadicalDuck - 5/6/2011, 4:24 PM
Awesome pics! Nice find Josh :-)I bet this suit will look awesome after they touch it up :-D
Amazo - 5/6/2011, 4:24 PM
Eeewwwwwwwwww nasty

Don't see why people hate the suit so much. I dig it.

Should be a good movie. Can't wait til we get a teaser or something. :D

marvel72 - 5/6/2011, 5:36 PM
this movie has got a quality cast, the costume has taken its time to grow on me.

but it should look fantastic when he's doing battle with the lizard.
homer4858 - 5/6/2011, 5:38 PM
@ ThreeBigTacos

looks more like garfield's stunt double.
sexfoodcomics - 5/6/2011, 5:40 PM
Suit looks awesome. Looks more like a spidey suit then that halloween costume in raimis movies.
Chewtoy - 5/6/2011, 5:49 PM
The suit looks kind of filthy... I mean literally, not pornographic... in these shots. Like Hobo Spider-man's seen some hard years on the streets.

I know it's just some dynamic shading to give the suit better shape on film, but it's amusing in these behind the scenes pics.
Ghostt - 5/6/2011, 6:11 PM
umm,
1)Sheen did not give a good performance in Spawn..he was hammy and hasn't done anything since then. His only good movie was 'Apocalypse Now'
2)Not digging the reboot. not digging the suit.
3)crap, I'm turnin into Grif..is that what happens when you troll here for too long?
4)I'm goin out tonight...
Sithsidious66 - 5/6/2011, 6:11 PM

Man...I hate the [frick]ing suit! : (
tehdude - 5/6/2011, 6:39 PM
@sexfoodcomics- it really doesn't. This is the first time i've ever said this, but your opinion is wrong. Raimi's suit looked like it jumped right out of the comics.
D117 - 5/6/2011, 7:02 PM
Suit still looks terrible, IMO don't really care for this movie. After seeing Spider-Man so many times it's really played out.
LP4 - 5/6/2011, 7:03 PM
@LEEE- Man the suit is a fine re-imagining.
gurugeorge - 5/6/2011, 7:04 PM
This is simply awful.
tehdude - 5/6/2011, 7:11 PM
@prettynuclear- and the times it wasn't it still looked pretty good so... yeah.
NeoBaggins - 5/6/2011, 8:07 PM
They will force feed people the ugly suit until familiarity turns into acceptance. I already hear people saying "Uh der, It's growing on me". People also get used to jail and amputation. Doesn't mean it's awesome.

"Thank god for low budget, high return productions."-Martin Sheen (unofficial)
Tkiller - 5/6/2011, 8:33 PM
That suit looks dirty :( (Not sexual way at all!)
AldoRaine - 5/6/2011, 8:41 PM
Lovin the look and feel of all these pix, hoping for the best.
zachman2013 - 5/6/2011, 10:38 PM
is it just me or does that guy in the first pic look alot like James Franco?to the left of spidey....
sideBURNz28 - 5/6/2011, 11:19 PM
The suit.. the suit.. the suit, who cares! I personally think it looks great, but that should take a back seat to the story. The 3rd Spiderman ranks down there with "Batman & Robin" as the campiest piece of rushed commercial crap that was ever created. It's a movie people, approach it with an open mind about things as trivial as a costume, focus on what matters; story. My hope is that the Rami brothers kick themselves after seeing this movie because it is so awesome.
razor - 5/7/2011, 3:53 AM
Martin is fantastic. The apple fell very far from the tree with Charlie.
Sephiroth - 5/7/2011, 7:43 AM
the suit looks better as time goes on....
forthesakeofnow - 5/7/2011, 8:08 AM
@razor Charlie said something about being the Messiah at one point. The only Jesus parallel I see is a bloke who is popular because of his important and creative dad. =]
forthesakeofnow - 5/7/2011, 8:17 AM
The 3rd Spiderman movie, like the 3rd attempts from X-Men and Pirates, all rank above the earlier films in the series for me. But just because I never took the previous as seriously as everyone else did. Same as me prefering Batman and Robin to the two Tim Burton Batman movies.

And yes I know my story is cool cheers bro. =]
forthesakeofnow - 5/7/2011, 8:27 AM
@N It seems so far from the pics that it might be, though theres no proof 'till we see a single shot video where he swings thru the streets and then takes off the mask when cut is called. I still much prefer the way they are approaching this film to the last 3.
