The veteran actor told The Belfast Telegraph that he was "very impressed" by his British co-star, Andrew Garfield, in a recent interview.
"It's a different phenomenon, these young stars that are coming up," he added. "I was very impressed with him because of his commitment and his discipline, and he's a very sweet young man too."
As for how his work on the movie as Spider-Man's Uncle Ben Parker has been going so far, he said: "I've filmed all the scenes in California and I have to go to New York in April and May and film the final parts that I have to do. It's great fun."
