When the costume was first revealed, the negative feedback from fans was overwhelming. While a slightly redesigned version was met a little more positively, it would appear that the Amazonian princesses outfit is the least of her worries, as NBC have passed on the pilot. Here is an excerpt from the report over at Entertainment Weekly. More details can be found by clicking on the link below to head on over to the site.

Well that was fun (to make fun of) while it lasted. EW has learned that NBC passed on the much buzzed-about Wonder Woman pilot from David E. Kelley and Warner Bros. TV.

Why did the ‘ol girl fail to pass muster?

NBC isn’t saying for now but scuttlebutt reveals the pilot earned mixed reviews at test screenings. And then there was all the online blow back about the costume – which seemed to de-emphasize the patriotism and play up the comic’s Greek mythology. Ultimately, the wardrobe department went back to the drawing board but that didn’t seem to save the project.

I'm no expert when it comes to what happens next, but as with that Aquaman pilot a few years back, it looks like we can say goodbye to the chances of seeing Wonder Woman on the small screen. Whether this will damage the characters chances of making it to the big screen is unclear. What do you guys think about this? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

gandalf550 - 5/12/2011, 7:27 PM
Hopefully this means that the next time they try to do WW they'll actually go with a full-fledged movie... and do it right of course...
MIIIK - 5/12/2011, 7:28 PM
That's what DC gets for making bullshit, following Nolan's dumb ass idea of separation, and not doing a shared universe.

I could care less.
vaver16 - 5/12/2011, 7:38 PM
Oh well, I didn't actually think it was going to happen, and if it did, it may of tanked.
MovieTheaterLad - 5/12/2011, 7:38 PM
And then there was all the online blow back about the costume – which seemed to de-emphasize the patriotism and play up the comic’s Greek mythology.

Uuuuuhhhhhh yeah? She isn't American. She's Greek. What patriotism? Wonder Woman is about as patriotic towards America as Thor is.

This is bullshit.
Spock - 5/12/2011, 7:39 PM
Well she still looked good in the costume! oh Well!
nuck82 - 5/12/2011, 7:39 PM
lol awwwwww. maybe wb will pick it up to fallow smallville, and then we can wait 10 years to never see her in her suit
subzero1077 - 5/12/2011, 7:42 PM
Hope the pilot makes its way online somewhere. I wanna see it!

cyclopstb - 5/12/2011, 7:49 PM
I suggest someone should make a petition for the new WW series to air.
blueorangeny - 5/12/2011, 7:51 PM
Thats good, as long as the movie doesn't fall through because of this shit.
AsianAvenger - 5/12/2011, 7:51 PM
Now it's time for a movie!!!!!
SamHell - 5/12/2011, 7:51 PM
Wouldnt there be alot more interest in Supergirl??
tazmaniak - 5/12/2011, 7:52 PM
If anything, WB is going to take this as proof that Wonder Woman doesn't work in live action, which is kinda what they already think.I doubt she'll have a solo project anytime in the near future.
patriautism - 5/12/2011, 7:52 PM
I heard the pilot was going to be aired as a TV movie.
I'd like to at least see it, to criticize what might have been.
AVEN - 5/12/2011, 7:52 PM
For the love of god, this Wonder Woman Pilot is bullshit and DC fail again.
JULEZ13 - 5/12/2011, 7:53 PM
YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!!!! Good riddance to this bu||sh!t!!!! YAY! I'm f[ri]cking ecstatic now!

Now we can look forward to a Wonder Woman live action movie. It should be out in about 5 years until someone at WB will have enough balls to rise to the challenge and make it happen.
valeriesghost - 5/12/2011, 7:55 PM
yeah, the only reason i clicked on this article is because it said it was toast. David E. Kelly should leave comics the [frick] alone and go write something about wealthy, good looking doctors, cause we can all relate to that shit...
ClarkFarley2012 - 5/12/2011, 7:57 PM
Where's grif with Man vs. Sh**?? Lol.

"And then there was all the online blow back about the costume – which seemed to de-emphasize the patriotism and play up the comic’s Greek mythology."

Since when did the Greeks dress in cheesy vinyl and cheap plastic?! OBVIOUSLY the suits killed this (and good riddance), but they don't have a #$@!-ing clue as to WHY it was a GOOD DECISION! The costume SHOULD have been something like this:

She's an AMAZON PRINCESS! Screw 'patriotism', they should have played upon the Greek angle and kept the costume more true to form:

...but what the !@#$ do I know - I'm just a FAN!
Hickspy - 5/12/2011, 8:00 PM
And yet they picked up the Cape...
StuckInPanels - 5/12/2011, 8:02 PM
uhhhhh hello SYFY...they know how to make bad stuff watchable
MovieTheaterLad - 5/12/2011, 8:03 PM
@patriautism

"I heard the pilot was going to be aired as a TV movie.

Yeah! At least air it as a TV movie and then see if people like it.
superwolverine - 5/12/2011, 8:04 PM
i think wonder woman is one of those movies thats just not going to happen.
Rexgabe - 5/12/2011, 8:05 PM
Like the proverbial train wreck, I kind of still want to see the failed pilot.
dahamma - 5/12/2011, 8:06 PM
Wooowww didn't see this coming. But guys, do your really think this means a live action movie for WW? I dont think so. I could be wrong though. She certainly deserves it but if they cant pull it off as a TV show....
Godzillafart - 5/12/2011, 8:07 PM
Yeah. Because it was a shitty idea. I have an idea. Ask any fanboy idiot on this site and they could help you make a good show. It really isn't rocket science, morons. [frick]ing producers have all the money and none of the sense. [frick]! How much money did they waste on something that was so obviously a terrible take on a very popular character?

And something so easy to make a breadbasket.

And..[frick] you.
ckal - 5/12/2011, 8:07 PM
Lol!! No shit!!
SonOfStarKiller - 5/12/2011, 8:08 PM
Grand opening. Grand closing.
EditNinja - 5/12/2011, 8:08 PM
I hope it leaks, so we can judge for ourselves.
Godzillafart - 5/12/2011, 8:10 PM
And I mean it...[frick] you.
RockNRollCC - 5/12/2011, 8:13 PM

@loganoneil that looks [frick]ing awesome!
ClarkFarley2012 - 5/12/2011, 8:16 PM
Lmao @ theGoddamnBatman!
deanwilkins - 5/12/2011, 8:18 PM
I was still hoping to see it, even though it looked terrible...
ager - 5/12/2011, 8:20 PM
thank u thank u thank u thank u thank u thank u

and yes loganoneil is right that is what the costume should look like or close to it
loganoneil - 5/12/2011, 8:22 PM
Hollywood does this ALL THE TIME! There are COUNTLESS pilots that have been filmed that will probably never see the light of day! It would have been great to see this POS just to give it the CBM-MST3K treatment, but unless it's leaked on-line somehow, I doubt we'll ever get to see it.
Mileena16 - 5/12/2011, 8:22 PM
@loganoneil-
in the (somewhat) newer comics, they had a different take on why she wore what she did. the amazons had no idea that they had based her outfit on the american flag
Starlight - 5/12/2011, 8:27 PM
Thanks GOD this isn't seeing the light of day !
loganoneil - 5/12/2011, 8:33 PM
Mileena16 - I realize that, but still... you've got to agree, going with cheesy vinyl and cheap plastic only makes a regal and noble character like Wonder Woman look like a over-glorified stripper, not the Amazon warrior she REALLY is!
MovieTheaterLad - 5/12/2011, 8:40 PM
@godzillafart

"Ask any fanboy idiot on this site and they could help you make a good show."

Oh God no. Please, if half of the fanboys actually got their way, everyone on screen would be running around in ridiculous outfits saying cheesy one-liners.
Mileena16 - 5/12/2011, 8:45 PM
@loganoneil- well yeah if you go with cheesy vinyl and cheap plastic
