Patrick Dempsey would be a good Doctor Strange

sorry Johnny Depp should not be Doctor Strange his too predictable for the role
luckylu - 6/23/2011, 12:12 PM
i think he could turn out great. depp would be cool but waaay too expensive and i would rather marvel spend that money on something necessary like visual effects and sets.
thalidomide - 6/23/2011, 12:14 PM
if there's going to be a Dr. Strange movie i think they will hire a lesser known actor.
Dedpool - 6/23/2011, 12:14 PM
I think Dempsey would be a good Doc Strange. Though his voice is just a little too light for me.
bernini - 6/23/2011, 12:15 PM
He would be a great Doc Strange but he may be too old depending on the angle they take...

Timothy Dalton
bernini - 6/23/2011, 12:16 PM
That is to say Dalton would be great but may be too old.
TheShakeBake - 6/23/2011, 12:17 PM
Its Sorcerer Supreme, not Supreme Sorcerer dipsh*t
jazzman - 6/23/2011, 12:18 PM
@thalidomide

he is still a lesser known actor his not A list Hollywood actor like Johnny Depp
StereoDroid - 6/23/2011, 12:18 PM
Dempsey would be a terrible Dr. Strange! it would be a joke. Might as well call it Strange Anatomy.
MrSuperheromoviefan - 6/23/2011, 12:21 PM
not sure
jazzman - 6/23/2011, 12:21 PM
some idiot put on Patrick Dempsey wikipedia page that he is cated as Doctor Strange and the film is released in 2013 LMAO

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Dempsey

@Intruder

F**K NO

No Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. Tim Burton is boring everything about his movie only goth style of filming.

Ghostfire - 6/23/2011, 12:23 PM
I'm not to keen on this kat playing Strange. I think they should go w/ someone else or a lesser know actor as thalidomide said. As for Depp, he's to predictable for the role (although it would be cool having Depp be in a Marvel Studios production), but he does have ties with Disney already, so you never know.
jazzman - 6/23/2011, 12:24 PM
@Intruder

wrong i remember people wanted Triple H to play Thor LMAO

that was one of the most predictable choice by fanboys.

look at the casting of Cap who thought Chris Evans going to be Cap no one.
zemus - 6/23/2011, 12:27 PM
I agree, Patrick shows the passion. And he wants it to be made so bad. And we know he can play a Doctor :P
marckos - 6/23/2011, 12:27 PM
i think he is a great actor, and a good chioce for dr. strange
zemus - 6/23/2011, 12:28 PM
PS

NO Depp
NO Burton

Those are AWFUL Ideas, SUPER YAWN
Bryanferryfan - 6/23/2011, 12:30 PM
DAMMIT< SKEET ULRICH FOR DR.STRANGE!
jazzman - 6/23/2011, 12:31 PM
@Intruder

Burton Goth style would be awful. Guillermo del Toro is better suited to do a Doctor Strange movie over Tim Burton.

@zemus

well said :P
PunkRockMachine - 6/23/2011, 12:34 PM
I wouldn't have thought that a Dr. Strange movie would even be interesting to make until I saw Thor. I definitely think Marvel could pull it off with the right actor. Not too sure this guy is it.
Hellsing - 6/23/2011, 12:35 PM
dude knows his shit but I've never seen him act so I can't really comment on wheather he's good or not I'm willing to give this guy a chance. and The ONLY way Deep would work is if they get a director who can restrain his quirky and weird side. and Hell no to Tim Burton. Alfonso Cuaron FTW! Cuaron and Deep teaming up for Dr Strange movie would be awesome(although I would prefer lesser known or even an unknown for the role).
marvel72 - 6/23/2011, 12:37 PM
i'd give him a chance at the role,there is worse choice's out there.

dempsey + del toro + marvel studio's = dr.strange movie perfection.
badnoct - 6/23/2011, 12:37 PM
I agree with those who say no to patrick dempsey.
DarrkEvil - 6/23/2011, 12:40 PM
Undoubtfully agreeed with marvel72..lol !
jazzman - 6/23/2011, 12:42 PM
@Intruder

actually Guillermo del Toro filming is different his style is dark, gritty but also vibrant.

Burton is just pure boring Goth style and gloomy

Cameron Avatar was fricking Pocahontas thats not been a hater its a fact lol
JackBauer - 6/23/2011, 12:43 PM
Dr. McDreamy, Sorceror Supreme? I don't think so. Everytime I see this dude I'm reminded of this:

Besides, his voice isn't deep enough to chant and recite spells.
Zarog - 6/23/2011, 12:44 PM
Definitely want Guillermo del Toro if they do a Dr. Strange movie. Actor, I'm not so sure about. I think Depp would do well in the role, but he might be too expensive for Marvel to afford and still turn a big profit on the movie.

Gmoney84 - 6/23/2011, 12:46 PM
I always thought the kid from Firefly/Serenity, River's brother, the doctor, I thought he'd be a good Strange. Maybe even a good Hank Pym.
badnoct - 6/23/2011, 12:46 PM
what about jeffery dean morgan for the role
BIGBMH - 6/23/2011, 12:48 PM
I don't know if this guy could pull off playing a doctor. :)

But seriously, I think he would be pretty good. I see him as Dr. Strange much more than Johnny Depp. Dempsey has a desire to play this kind of obscure character in a movie that hasn't even been announced, so I think it's genuine and he would really bring a good energy and enthusiasm to it.
Hellsing - 6/23/2011, 12:51 PM
Del Toro would be a awesome choice as a director but lets be realistic people the amount projects that dude has by the time he starts on Dr. Strange it will probably be 2020. But you never know I guess
manthingnitsuj - 6/23/2011, 12:58 PM
is dempsey tall enough?
PirateOpossum - 6/23/2011, 12:59 PM
not sure about a live action Doctor Strange. I loved the animated movie however.
badnoct - 6/23/2011, 1:01 PM
Dr strange seem to be a guy in his forties,If Marvel decide to do a Dr strange movie I think it would be going in the right direction.Dr strange has a lot of dealings with the Avengers.The old Dr strange T.v movie had a dark over tone I say yeah to Del toro also...Hopefully Marvel don't get someone much to young for role,when they do decide to do a film on character..more likely the person whoever they are in this future movie will probally be mid thirties to have sequels.
Gusto - 6/23/2011, 1:01 PM
@Intruder

Batman and Batman Returns was years ago. Tim Burton nowadays is Gloomy and boring.

Del Toro thats everyone influences doesxmean he will direct his movies like them. Uwe Boll might even says Tim Burton and Steven Spielberg is his main influences also lol.

you had to talk about money ok Cameron made2.7 Billion dollars worldwide for Avatar. but remember most of the profit was based been 3D.

"People weren't compaining about his talents when he made ALIENS and Terminator 2 were they?"

no they was not cause they was fresh new ideas. Avatar for a fact was Pocahontas in Space.

AGENTJAY1130 - 6/23/2011, 1:07 PM
GO FOR IT PATRICK!!!! DOCTOR STRANGE WILL BE A HIT AT THE BOX OFFICE BECAUSE IT SHOULD BE A EASY SCRIP TO WRITE!!! MARVEL DONT LET HOLLYWOOD F!@# THIS UP!!!!
jazzman - 6/23/2011, 1:15 PM
@Intruder

more like Burton needs GOD boring goth LOL
AlexDeLarge87 - 6/23/2011, 1:18 PM
Just some reason i dont dig about this dude at all. I rather see James Caviezel, Johnny Depp or Clive Owen as Strange.

Edward Norton wouldnt be a bad choice either. He played great Magician in The Illusionist.
jazzman - 6/23/2011, 1:23 PM
@AlexDeLarge87

i forgot about James Caviezel he would be good
Duhdaduh - 6/23/2011, 1:34 PM
i actually do not have a problem with him playing Strange, as long as he is able to do the character justice

still rooting for Nestor Carbonell for the role tho!! after seeing him in Lost, theres no doubt in my mind he'd do a good job
Rodimus9 - 6/23/2011, 1:35 PM
Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

What about Eric Balfor? With the right director....??
chris915 - 6/23/2011, 1:36 PM
