SPOILERS: Sebastian Stan & Hayley Atwell Discuss The Future Of Their Captain America Characters!

Speaking to 411mania, Sebastian Stan and Hayley Atwell have revealed some new details about the ultimate fate of both Bucky and Peggy Carter. Would you rather see Bucky return as the Winter Soldier or be an old man married to Peggy as in Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch's The Ultimates? Well, it seems either of those scenarios may be a possibility judging from the following comments. Be sure to share your thoughts on all this in the usual place.

Have you had discussions about that and have you ever thought, "Maybe one day I will play Bucky becoming Captain America?"

Yeah, I . . . you know the interest of course is there. I just think there is so much in terms of story that needs to be told until you get to that point. In terms of just tying in The Avengers and going into the future now, into present day with him [Steve Rogers] and sort of like as you know all their villains, it just -- I think that on a timeline basis that's how it's been set up and so on in the comic books. And whether or not that is going to be the way the films go remains to be seen, but obviously it's an exciting possibility.

Now Bucky isn't dead. We didn't actually see a body. Is Bucky still alive?

Did you all see the movie?

Yeah. He never died back then in the comics. We never saw a body. So you're still alive right?

Ask me this question on July 25, sorry.

We heard from director Joe Johnston in the press conference that Peggy Carter is still alive and in her 80's. So are we going to see you doing an elderly Peggy Carter in Avengers?

Oh god, I hope so. It'd probably be cheaper to get someone who was in their 80's wouldn't it as opposed to putting me in prosthetics for six hours everyday...I'd love to. I haven't been approached yet officially, but if I was, I would absolutely run at the chance.

Did you know that Peggy was still alive?

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

There aren't enough steroids i the world to make Sebastian Stan an acceptable Captain America.

We already know Stan is signed on for a 5-6 film deal, so it is pretty ridiculous to keep asking him if he is really dead or not.

IMHO Bucky/Winter Soldier should become Captain America in the movies when they have made about 25 Cap movies. In 70 years of Captain America being a character, Bucky being Captain America is just a blip on the radar screen and does not deserve a full movie. If you have to do it in a movie, Steve should be Cap at the beginning and end of the movie to keep it in perspective that he is Captain America.

It would be like doing an entire Batman movie with Dick as Batman and Damian as Robin. I am sure true CB fans might want to see these as movies, but you have to think about the entire movie going public as well.

Bucky Cap should follow Avengers 3. Optimistically, Marvel might have the X-men rights back by then and they could do a propper Civil War as Avengers 3, with Bucky Cap following as Captain America 4 (start of the second trilogy). With Steve returning at the end of Captain America 4, possibly for an after credits scene (good time to change actors if you need to). Both Buck Cap and Captain Rogers in Cap 5, with Bucky Cap dieing at the end, and Cap 6 with Steve back as Cap and the story that hasn't been written yet.

That way Avengers 4 could be fear-itself somewhere between Cap 5 and 6, with both caps, and Bucky getting killed. Also, Bucky should stay dead until the after credit scenes of Cap 2, with Cap 3 being Cap v Winter Soldier.
