Despite some filming reportedly being moved indoors today because of rain, shooting is now underway on the set of The Avengers in Cleveland, and we have not only the first footage from the set, but also a selection of Tweets describing the action, and a few more photos. The first two videos depict extras running away in fear as the NYPD arrive on scene, while the third features some street scenes being shot.

Chris Evans looked draper as he hit The Avengers set on Monday morning. Despite the rainy weather, the actor looked calm as he shot the very first scene in Cleveland, Ohio. Wearing his famous leather bomber jacket, Chris was solo on set before taking a few pointers from the director. Cleveland will be standing in as New York City as the production of the ambitious Marvel team-up action flick continues.
Squint your eyes, and you can just about see someone (Chris Evans?) with Cap's shield in the first photo.
