For dramatic purposes, it´s easy to disconnect from a masked character, besides actors loved the opportunity.

See the "Judge Dredd" movie? Stallone didn´t used the helmet for more than 15 seconds.
Even Iron Man was carelessly opening his helmet all the time, so the Iron Monger and Whiplash.

Spiderman was also tearing his mask apart all the time, risking his identity.

i don't know why people think its gonna be Chitauri for granted it maybe but this is the marvel cinematic universe a mixture of both universes if you compare what marvel have used from the look 616 universe & the ultimate universe.the 616 out weighs it.

The Chitauri don't make sense because in the UltimateU, they were established in the WW2 era, and in Cap's film they were nowhere in sight. Not to mention that they're your poor man's Skrull knockoffs.

Anything X-Men related AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. Period.

As for the rest of the choices, Marvel aren't going to put out an Avenger movie every year, especially if they all have to do with galactic races of beings when they don't even have a galactic hero already established to begin with. I think it's only logical that they opt for the most popular of them all which are the Skrulls vs. the Kree.

It was reported a while back that the only Skrull Fox owns is the SuperSkrull. So the Skrulls are fair game for Marvel. Even more so if the rumor is true and that they're getting the rights to F4 back soon. None the less, apparently the Skrulls are only HINTED at in this first film and AREN'T THE THREAT. So who's left?

Well there's only one other choice that not only could pose a threat but also establish galatic heroes for Marvel to use, and one of the most popular female heroes to ever be created next to Wonder Woman at that. And that's the Kree, establishing either Captain Marvel or more importantly Ms Marvel.

And if you think about it, you've got a director on board that has spent the better part of his life working with strong female protagonists. I'm not saying Ms Marvel will be in this film since no one in the reported cast fits the bill, but a sequel is only a script away and she could also get her own solo film which would make a hell of a lot more sense than a Black Widow spin-off.

EVERYTHING seems to point towards the Kree, even that alien weapon picture we saw. I think it's the most logical outcome.

i like the design of cap's suit, makes sense for it to be more streamlined to allow fluid fight movement. but they should make it look less like pajamas. i wouldve liked to see more protective padding, ala the suit in the dark knight. i mean, cap's still human, he aint bullet or injury proof

They are just practicing the scene in the pics where he has his mask off I think. Not shooting. Maybe not, but looks like it for me.

How about Atlanteans, these weapons look similar to those used by Atlantean sleeper agents in the Civil War Arc.
