UPDATE 2: James Bond 23 Title Will Be "Skyfall"; New Details, Logo And Cast Members Confirmed!

The "James Bond 23" press conference is currently taking place in London, and thanks to Empire we have all the details including the title, confirmation of several cast members, details on the locations, story, sequels and more...

As I type this, the "James Bond 23" press conference is currently going on in London, with director Sam Mendes, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and cast members Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Bérénice Marlohe and Naomie Harris all in attendance. There are several live blogs currently taking place (Digital Spy and HeyUGuys being two of the best) and below we have a selection of Tweets from Empire. The title of Bond 23 is, officially, Skyfall.

"Bond's journey takes him to Shanghai, Istanbul and to Scotland. Purvis and Wade and John Logan have written a fantastic script." - Mendes

"It has a lot of action, and many other things too." He's confirmed Ben Whishaw, who'll be playing a non-disclosed role.

Albert Finney and Ralph Fiennes are also confirmed. He can't say anything about 'em "I am genuinely thrilled to have the most amazing cast."

Berenice Marlohe, first of the Bond girls, has walked on stage. And here comes Naomie Harris. And now Dame Judi Dench...

Here comes the villain of the piece - Mr. Javier Bardem.

Mendes: "I got very excited when I saw my friend Daniel play Bond in Casino Royale. I thought the story of Skyfall was fantastic."

Craig: "Tremendously excited by the people we've got in the movie. We've assembled an incredible crew. We start shooting today. THIS IS IT."

Marlohe: "I play a glamorous, enigmatic character called Severin."

Harris says she's playing a field agent called Eve. Not Moneypenny? Or is Moneypenny's first name Eve? WE GOTSTA KNOW!

Skyfall doesn't relate to any previous Bond title, or movie, apparently. And they don't have anyone in mind for the theme song just yet.

Bardem: "Who told you a villain is a bad person? For me, it's an honour to be at this table for many reasons. It will be fun to do."

Harris: "I've bene stunt driving and doing yoga three times a week to get into shape, and firing machine guns, which I've got a taste for."

Mendes has been put on the spot about directing another Bond movie. "If in six months I'm as excited as I am now, then yes."

What does Skyfall mean?, asks one intrepid journalist. Broccoli: "It has emotional context which will be revealed in the film."

Mendes: "It's its own story. It doesn't connect with the last two films." So QUANTUM has been put on ice temporarily?

Mendes says that the names of Fiennes, Finney and Whishaw's characters are withheld because Bond fans might know them. Or they might not.

Craig says that if he can do this for a few more years, he'll be happy. Ooh...

In SKYFALL, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Naomie Harris is lying. Shes Moneypenny alright, bet in the movie, its a running joke that we dont get her surname (Like Gemma Areton with "Strawberry" Fields) and then just as the movie ends shes says her name:

"Moneypenny. Eve Moneypenny." Well I hope so anyway.

Oh and Berenice Marlohe better be good, cause if shes just Bond's slam piece, then its boring. She will never compare to Vesper though, God, Vesper was fantastic.

Don't need chicks unnecessarily shooting machine guns. That is very easy to mess up and ruin movies.

This is certainly an amazing cast. I'm sure we will get some characters from bond's history we know by the sound of it.

I mean look at how many Roger moore did for christs sake. And he was terrible and his movies were so campy.

So this is what it boils down to? Action? I am a little concerned by this comment, but then again, he may be trying to contain a cloud of secrecy with statements like these.

It does sound like even if it is not connected to the previous films it is connected at least to the rest of the Bond universe's characters. With Skyfall it sure sounds like something to do with atmospheric conditions being affected, where as with Quantum of Solace it was like what the heck does that mean?

I'm just loving Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes as villains, both brilliant actors who I would never have expected to star in a Bond Film. This movie will be full of great surpises.

God, I hope Finney is playing Sir Miles (M). I recon Ben Whishaw may be playing Boothroyd a.k.a Q.

I hope they don't wheel in Blofeld. He was only ever in three of the books before Bond strangles the bastard to death. The films gave him far to much importance

lets just hope this is better then the last one, i was bored with the last one, but i do love Craig as bond and the 1st one was one of the best bond movies i think

The brief synopsis sounds fantastic!

Just wish Daniel "constantly chewing a wasp" Craig wasn't playing the lead.

as long as it is better than the last one and they wrap up this whole mystery organization - I have high hopes with that cast.

@ tea & bman- They could weave them into the L's somehow too. I don't think they are being lazy, not all bond films used that effect. I suppose they could have used a weird sounding title like Overhead Down and blended the 0's into that.

Wait, Ralph Fiennes AND Javier Bardem? They're going all out this time...

I really hope they'd wrap up this mystery organization, but I get the feeling this'll just be a side story to that (just going by the synopsis at least).

@ plasticman: True, not all the Bond films do that but the other Daniel Craig ones do. I was just wondering why they decided not to do it this time. It's just another sign that Hollywood is getting less and less creative as time goes on.

It will be great if they revisit the Blofeld trilogy. So skyfall would be Thunderball, then On her majesty secret survice, and you only live twice.

Thou i dont really dig the name but i guess it will do.

Craig should be Bond as long as possible after all he made the character fresh and interesting again.

Bardem is gonna play one hell of a villain! Hopefully Fiennes has a villain role too!

can't wait! i think I'm one of the few people that loved quantum better than casino royal . i will say casino had more thrilling aspects to it and more edge of your seat story telling but I'm sure Sam mendes will definitely make up for that especially with how his past great films have done. but i hope we keep the james bond aspect here, with the action and secse of adventure and not some bryan singer superman returns mushiness story... CANT WAIT!!!
