Lucasfilm Register Mysterious New Domain Names, "Star Wars: Identities"! Lucasfilm Register Mysterious New Domain Names, "Star Wars: Identities"!

There's been no further information as of yet, but Fusible have spotted the registration of some mysterious new domain names by Lucasfilm earlier this month. According to the site, "Three domain names were registered on November 7th through Corporation Service Company, a brand protection service: StarWarsIdentities.com, StarWarsIdentites.com (typo) and sw-id.com." So, now the question is what exactly these are for? A video game? An animated series? A new live action movie? The long rumored live action TV series? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

Doubtful on the movie. Hopeful on the live action TV series. Ruling out animated series since there is already one currently airing that is doing fairly well in ratings and viewership. Most likely would be a video game.

REALLY would like for it to be the live action TV series.

Last I heard about the live-action show was that they were having trouble with the budget and the technology. It was going to be too expensive to produce, so it was essentially put on hold until the technology is more in line with the budgets

@SuspenseSmith

Same here.

All the animated coverage on the Clone Wars ruined it for me.

If anything, I want this ':Identities' to be a live action film, not directed by Lucas.

But ':Identities' sounds like a Soap Opera to me...

It's probably a website related to KOTOR, like a Gamertag-ish thing a la Call of Duty Elite

Video Game.

@3D agreed...more live action movies but minus Lucas. Maybe then we'd get some better quality and realistic saber battles.

@deathmetalbrain I could care less to read the article, I read Josh's summation and looked at the poll both offer video game as an option. I have better things to do than read an entire article on a domain name registration.

Your opinion poll is wrong. The website is registered by "LucasFilm" which means it is cartoon, television, or movie related.

If it was video game related it would have been registered by "LucasArts"

Maybe it is for the live-action show. It's called Identites because it'll showcase different characters (identities) each episode. Like an episode about Plo Koon cracking some skulls. Or a random stormtrooper doing his thing. Or a young Grand Moff Tarkin dealing with some insurgence in his sector or so something of that sort.

Actually, I talked to one of the people working on this project by Lucas. He is an actor (or so he says). I met him while test driving cars at the O.C Auto Show, he was working the event. He says it's supposed to be a YouTube series to start, then based off the number of views will adapt into a TV series. This is all supposedly taking place during the Knights of the Old Republic era. This man claims that the project is "top secret"....some secret.

Whatever it is, I'm sure it's limited to the Clone War era.

That would be a perfect name for the live-action series, given the descriptions George and Rick have given about it. It would be a title that would distance itself from the kiddie stuff and it would denote a stronger emphasis on character. All this fits in with what Lucasfilm has been saying about the series. I am cautious, however, to raise any hopes about the series being given a green-light.

@ecksmanfan
Something tells me you're still a child.

@SuspenseSmith
Hardcore fan, my ass. You're a troll. *I'm* a hardcore "Star Wars" fan and, while I can't say that I have any particular love for "The Clone Wars"-series, I do believe any *real* fan would like to have a mature, live-action series based in the "Star Wars" universe pan out. No one is paying you (?) to comment on this article. You've made your point, don't turn into a whining attention-whore over this.

@SigmaCenturion
"Who cares?" Me. GTFO

@SuspenseSmith and @3D- I concur. As far as Star Wars goes, the only way it can be salvaged ("saved" would be jumping to conclusions) is to let it completely die off for a while: no more animated stuff, video games, "special editions," and/or movies that are made solely to reference Star Wars...for a VERY, VERY long time. This is all IMHO.

George Lucas really knows how to milk something doesn't he. I can't deny stars wars is brilliant but ever heard the phrase, " too much of a good thing" ? Try working on an original idea.

He said he wouldn't do it until a cheaper way of producing each episode was found i.e effects sets etc he won't go the Star Trek route or BSG?

It reminds me of an X-Men Origins type thing. For example, Star Wars Identities: Yoda.

Reality show. The cast of all movies locked inside Lucas ranch and George sneaking around at night, changing everything, bit by bit, until they all break down in an identitycrisis..

Maybe it's a series where George Lucas destroys the original Star Wars movies and starts [frick]ing the prequels. The fans would love it :)
