In the closing moments of 2008's The Incredible Hulk, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) pays General Ross (William Hurt) a visit to have a little chat about the Avengers Initiative. Fast forward 7 years and that scene will finally pay off, as ol' Thunderbolt is returning for Captain America: Civil War.

IGN caught up with Hurt to talk about his new AMC series Humans, but also asked him about stepping back into General Ross' military brogues for the highly anticipated Marvel flick. "Well first of all it was delightful to get that call," said the actor. "And second of all... how am I going to catch this train? Or how am I going to catch this 747? Because it can't land for you. It's got to keep going."

Well, the Marvel movie machine may not have landed for Hurt but it clearly slowed down because it has a very specific plan for his character. The rumor mill suggests that Ross will actually become the Red Hulk as he does in the comics, but if that is the case, Hurt isn't giving anything away. However, he does admit that the character will be "much diffrent" this time around.

"I loved playing Ross the first time because I was able to try and create an ego as big as the monster he was chasing. And one that was as warped too. [Ross in Civil War] is different because it's a different style. It's a more modernized style. And what they've done is they've taken a character who was the Ross from the older film and made a new version. This is a much newer Ross. A much different Ross. And I liked that a lot. I haven't had a lot of time to understand it, but I'm doing the best I can. And they haven't fired me yet."

Hmmm. What do you guys make of that? Will Ross "Hulk out"? Sound off below.
