MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE To Get A Rewrite From THOR: RAGNAROK Scribe

Marvel Studios mainstay Christopher Yost will be turning his attention to Eternia after he's finished penning Thor: Ragnarok with Craig Kyle, as according to Variety, Sony Pictures and Escape Artists have tapped the writer to work on the script for their Masters Of The Universe movie.

The '80s He-Man cartoon was incredibly popular, spawning rebooted animated shows, comic books, heaps of merchandise, and even a movie with Dolph Lundgren which has become something of a cult classic. This new take has lingered in development hell for years, but it looks like some serious steps are finally being made to bring it to the screen.

Variety includes a synopsis, which may or may not turn out to be official:

"Set on the planet of Eternia, the story follows a warrior named Prince Adam who has the power to transform into the heroic He-Man. His nemesis is a villain named Skeletor who seeks to conquer a fortress known as Castle Grayskull in order to learn the secrets held within."

Previous drafts came from the pens of Terry Rossio and Jeff Wadlow, who was also tipped to direct at one point but we've had no updates on that for a while. Are you guys excited for a new Masters Of the Universe movie? Sound off below.
