There's a theory that Gordon's psychotic ex might become an incarnation of Harley Quinn in season 2 of Gotham, and these latest promos definitely add some weight to it. Her time spent in prison hanging out with "Jerome" has clearly brought out her inner supervillian! Take a look...

What in the hell is this show? How off the rails has it gone? Is it worth watching? I stopped somewhere in the middle of the first season (even though I really enjoyed some of it). I wasn't a fan when they were half-assing Batman, but if they are going just off the wall crazy and throwing the comics out the window, it might actually be more enjoyable.

Why in the world would Gordon name his daughter Barbara after his history with this Barbara???

Wouldn't that be a weird reminder? Unless Gordon goes nuts? I just don't see how this character can really be redeemed, ya know? Like I thought she'd be killed and Gordon would name his daughter as an homage to her, but why would he at this point?

I feel like I just asked more questions than they have in the writers room.

This show 15 years in it's future.

Batman: "Commissioner Gordon all your arch nemeses are teaming together to spring a huge crime wave on Gotham."

Gordon: "Dear God, the Joker, Penguin, Two Face, Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Black Mask, Ra's al Ghul, the Court of Owls, and Killer Croc are all teaming together. I must move fast or the city is doomed thanks for warning me Batman you can go back to your daily life I will save the day."

Batman: "Thank you Commissioner Gordon and God speed to you."

@Killuminatic

I really want to like this show, but something turns me away every time. I think if I never read Gotham Central I would like it better, I just don't like the premise of Gotham without Bats

It's not a bad show though, if you can get over the deviation from the source material

@ImKennyPowers

The way this show is going it will not surprise me at all if they put Gordon in some proto batman suit to fight crime and that is what inspires Bruce to become Batman. This show is just stupid enough to pull that crap.

How is this allowed to be on tv??? It's sooooo similar to Schumacher Batman....why?!?!?! How did DC okay this?!?!

Gotham had loads of intensity the 1st 7 episodes then it became more relaxed and eventually it became a showcase for which villain will they do next. The finale was idiotic.

I doubt I'll watch a single episode of it this year.

Just the right combination of stupid and crazy, unfortunately. haha

I liked how Bruce Timm handled Bruce Wayne's inspiration for Batman in Batman: TAS with the Adam West cameo.

Honestly though, if they did a time jump, to when Bruce is older or just added Batman, it would make this show a lot better

FOX must be paying WB/DC a ridiculous amount of money to look the other way.

To me, Gotham is like if Cinemax somehow got the rights to all of Batman's characters (but was forbidden to use Batman himself) and then made it into one of those "serious" softcore porn shows. And then someone came along later and edited it for broadcast television, leaving only the awkward overblown inuendo, but taking out the nudity.

That's how the last few episodes really felt, at least, and the next season looks to double down on it.

Lol. The comments never disappoint. Anyway, looking forward to season 2. Interested to see where they take Barbara's character. Didn't like her at first but after that arc with The Ogre I'm really keen on seeing her development.

@Spock0Clock

Haha, that was a perfect analogy

I really wanted to see Gotham focus on what it was like when Bruce's family was still alive, and focus on the rise of the mob families, Falcone and Maroni, etc, almost like Boardwalk Empire, and then the end of Season 1 would be his parents getting shot and season 2 would time jump

@DrKinsolving - "Honestly though, if they did a time jump, to when Bruce is older or just added Batman, it would make this show a lot better"

Initially I wanted that to happen, but given what they've done so far they'd figure out a way to screw things up.

And if WB won't allow the CW to use Batman, a network they co-own CBS, why would they let Fox use him? Personally, I think if Batman is going to appear in a live-action series, it should be on HBO! Time Warner owns both HBO & WB, so they'd have more creative control than they might with FOX. Plus, I have to believe a Batman series on HBO would have a significantly larger budget than it would on FOX. And it be superior in quality as well.

I still don't understand why it's taken so long for WB/DC & Time Warner to have comic book series on HBO.

Remember during the writers strike when CBS considered airing edited episodes of Dexter & Weeds??

And doesn't the CW air edited episodes of The Walking Dead??

@pesmerga44 Would Gordon becoming Batman be stupid? Yeah it would be pretty dumb, but I want to see it. This show needs to give up on young bruce and try to become an alternate universe Batman show. It would be a lot easier to withstand the butchering of comic stories and characters if it just went insane and had Gordon be like a Thomas-Wayne Batman and have Barbara be his Joker. I think of universes like Thrillkiller or Flashpoint, and I could see how it would work.
