ASSASSIN666 - 9/28/2009, 2:43 AM
Lol, Hulk I tried to post this myself but you beat me to the punch buddy.
nerosday - 9/28/2009, 2:44 AM
I think they got the feel of the old Nightmare on Elm Street; we'll have to see on April 30, 2010 if they hit the nail on the head.

I wasn't expecting such a radical change in Freddy's appearance. He seems to have been given a more realistic burn victim look, with smoother features, no lips, a nearly wiped away nose, and less pits in his face.

This look could be good or bad, it might take away some of the expressiveness of the old Englund style face or make him harder to read and thus more eerie, in his sardonic delivery. Either way Haley looks like he's going to give us another great performance.

I also see my man Clancy Brown getting in on the outraged father bit there.

nerosday - 9/28/2009, 3:00 AM
Yeah trailer looks the way it should....lets see if in April weather we get enough deviations to warrent the re-make....but so far im happy :)
teabag - 9/28/2009, 3:22 AM

LEEE777 - 9/28/2009, 8:42 AM
HULK2099 @ Don't worry as soon as my article comes up in news i'll delete it! ; )

Man, this does look good though, though it'll get some getting used to having FREDDY as a short ass lol.

Dunno about his voice, not quite right but its cool, only thing not happy about is having the kid that plays IMPULSE in it (From Smallville), sorta lessens it a bit!

Sttill gotta (Hopefully) be much better that that friggin' FRIDAY the 13th remake arghh lol.

Still want FREDDY VS JASON VS ASH dammit NEW LINE!!! ; D
LEEE777 - 9/28/2009, 8:59 AM
Too bad Bay is a producer. I MIGHT have gone to see it, but NOT now!
necrosage2005 - 9/28/2009, 9:07 AM
I'm H@RD!!!
ElBicho - 9/28/2009, 9:18 AM
jesus christ - that looks Fing amazing people. Haley nailed it - he isn't rehashing old Freddy - love the new voice, it's creepy without being a ripoff but still effective.

this looks fantastic - I might have to see me a horror movie next year and I usually avoid all this remake trash. But Haley looks like he could help make this one of the best horror remakes out there - that intro was incredible man. Clancy Brown in there? F - this looks wicked.
Keven - 9/28/2009, 9:26 AM
damm this is the movie that got me scared when i was 5 i couldn't sleep cuz of this movie
flames809 - 9/28/2009, 9:36 AM
but im still gonna watch it
flames809 - 9/28/2009, 10:07 AM
This could be awesome. I love the franchise, I own all the movies and I used to watch the TV show. One thing that really sucks about it is that I have to wait till next year to see it! But like everyone else I'm a little skeptical about the voice and the look. I need to hear more of his voice to get sold on that and I just really liked the old look even though it wasn't totally realistic. But what is realistic about a burned guy hunting you in your dreams anyways...
Gweedo - 9/28/2009, 10:52 AM
Good to see they kept some of the classic scenes like the glove in the bathtub and the hot blonde getting dragged across the ceiling. Looks rad. I just picked up all 8 cinematic appearances of Freddy on two volumes for 10 bucks apiece and it looks like I'll be adding one more when this comes out on dvd.
MatchesMalone - 9/28/2009, 10:57 AM
Freddy face looks like that bad guy from harry potter that killed harry parents
flames809 - 9/28/2009, 11:11 AM
It looks exactly like the original with a bit more back story on the monster, as is the trend with these remakes. Completely pointless.
RorMachine - 9/28/2009, 11:15 AM
I bet a lot of old school Freddy fans will reject this take on things, but not me! I think it looks cool.

To me it kind of looks like they took out all the silly camp, which is novel in and of itself.
But here's something else: I can see from the little segment about Krueger's origin that maybe this time around he was falsely accused? Maybe he didn't actually do it? That's ... different if that's the case
DarthMulder - 9/28/2009, 11:20 AM
oh noes... it's the attack of Freddy Kovacs!!

lol even if this turns out to suck I am still watching it just because of Haley
DarthMulder - 9/28/2009, 11:24 AM
@ror you are pointless. I'm just joking.

One of the big things I like about these remakes is the deeper back story. These guys have been killin' for year so the only thing worth seeing is what made them start killin'. Also I like the darker feel. I thought Bay and Rob have done a great job with their re-makes. Like Darth said they are pulling out some of the silliness from them although that's pretty much what Freddy has been all about. His funny personality. Of the three he actually still has a brain and can communicate and see the traps. I sense there will still be a little bit of that in this new one.
Gweedo - 9/28/2009, 11:35 AM
OMG!!!! it's a joke! it's a F-ing joke!!! LOL how is that freddy kruger. it's the same sceans from the first movie. Like i said theres nothing more to tell with the story of freddy or nightmare on elm street. The tub scean is in it, my god! the party scean theres nothing new it looks so stupid. And the voice is horrible. And no @"DARTHMULDER" thats stupid Fred fruger was a child killer and rapest hes evil. He wasen't accusued they burned him then he bcame a more powerful monster. And the first one wasen't silly the rest of them were. but there still good movies.

this movie is a waste of time just like friday the 13th. This shit! has to stop >:0 they just pissed all over the Mona Lisa im so offended and out raged.

You want to know what im ganna do when this comes out?!?! im ganna stay home and watch the first one cause it's free and alot better. I suggest u all do the same!!!! >:0 hell i think im ganna watch it now just to get the bad taste of this shit traler out of my mouth.
Logan-X - 9/28/2009, 11:57 AM
ok you want freddys past his back story???? then go watch freaddy's dead it's all there. this SHIT! fest shoulden't be made. It's an obomanation im so out raged and it spits in the face of true horror fans and nightmare on elm street. they should just make freddy vs jason 2 or nothing at all. you all think i was bad with x-men origins:wolverine?!?!?! then buckle up BITCH! >:0 >:0 >:0
Logan-X - 9/28/2009, 12:11 PM
Wow Logan, why don't you tell us how you really feel.

I'm going to run out and see the midnight showing of this mutha. Totally stoked to get this franchise moving again. Maybe if it does good, since Bay has a hand in Jason and Freddy he will do a B.A. Freddy vs Jason 2! I'm crossin' my fingers.
Gweedo - 9/28/2009, 12:27 PM
1 2 freddys coming for you 3 4 lock the door
thedarkknight666 - 9/28/2009, 12:33 PM
wow - why all the hate? jesus.

lol - people bash a remake when it strays too far - and now we're bashing cause it uses some of the same scenes? Wha the F - you whining peens.

The original Nightmare movies sucked so bad - they were camp cheese - the 1st one was good I admit - but the rest? come on.

I'm jumping on the Haley War wagon - F the haters. WAR HALEY!
Keven - 9/28/2009, 12:33 PM
@ kev

i'm with you 100% man!!!!!! this looks AWESOME!!! i loved the original nightmare movie, but the ones after that were so stupid and cheesy, they could hardly be called "horror" movies. it LOOKS like this one did away with the cheesiness, which i'm all for!!

@ logan

i'm confused, he looked like freddy to me, lol, just different, more real looking makeup for the burns. also, you saw a 2 mintue trailer, yet you think there's nothing new about it?? you can tell that from 2 minutes?? and doing away with the cheesiness is new. in fact, thats all i DIDN'T like about the old ones. if they weren't so ridiculously whacky and comical, they might've actually been scary movies.
CorndogBurglar - 9/28/2009, 12:55 PM
Logan X I can understand how you feel man.

I have watched em trash comic book characters that I used to like enough times to know what that's like.

The truth of the matter is that no matter how outrageously stupid the "interpretation" is, there are still people that will come back fromt he theater and say it was JUST GREAT. And if as a fan you don't like it then they will blame you for that or worse blame the fact that it's a comic or in this case a dated '80's horror flick.

And also no matter what hardliner fans feel about what is being done, the film makers will keep right on doing it, right or wrong it doesn't matter. As long as they get paid it's immaterial to them. They will screw you over, and if it lines their pockets they will happily do it a hundred more times without pause.

Essentially, we are powerless to do anything about it except discuss it. So at the end of the day all we can really do is accept or reject a movie for whatever reason we don't like it, just like with anything else.

DarthMulder - 9/28/2009, 1:03 PM
Meh...Paranormal Activity is probably going to be scarier!

Besides it's disappointing that he doesn't have the voice?...
Minotauro - 9/28/2009, 1:31 PM
It just doesn't look like ol' claw fingers is enjoying himself.

You know how some people love their jobs and some people do it just to pay the rent?
hush - 9/28/2009, 2:12 PM
The look of the movie is fine, Haley looks and sounds good as Freddy.

But I'm awfully worried about that "is he innocent" possibility.
Part of what makes him a monster is that he was a killer/rapist of children before he's burned by the parents. It's also why he's so cruel and sadistic.
To make him a innocent, and wrongly accused, out for revenge changes the character completely.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did that, as hollywood is ruining all the characters from my childhood. Just part of the trend....
hescian - 9/28/2009, 2:51 PM
I'm not feeling this movie... The original was better
thegreek - 9/28/2009, 2:53 PM
Can't wait for this, I think Jackie Earle Haley is the perfect choice to succeed Robert Englund.
Bandrews1 - 9/28/2009, 3:52 PM
I am not a big horror fan but since I was a kid ive always kept an eye on Nightmare as a franchise, just because Freddy is such an interesting character. This looks good, ill give it a go without a doubt when it comes out
JaySchluffy - 9/28/2009, 3:53 PM
Damn I think that guy being short is more creepy than the original Kruger. F#@k yeah I'm gonna see it!
antz1104 - 9/28/2009, 4:18 PM
F#%k!! It's a shame we hava to wait until next year to see this movie! I'm giving Haley a chance to fill the shoes of one of the movies that really scare the s#!t out of me so many years ago. Besides, once I shake THE HAND that once wore that glove!! Having Robert Englund in front of you saying "hi!" , well, that was amazing!
thebigbadwolf - 9/28/2009, 5:17 PM
this has a good chance of being a good reboot. that's wat this is. hulk was the old hulk in it's reboot, and no one complained about that. i loved it, tho. anyways, jason and myers both sucked and this has a huge chance. haley was good as rorshach, and he'll definitely be good in this one.

this is a music video directors first film, so give this guy a chance...
kyle dalton - 9/28/2009, 5:49 PM
His death in the beginning of the trailer is very different from the one in freddy vs. jason

HULK2099 - 9/28/2009, 6:00 PM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ehh it looks like it will be an okay movie.
Yohon Kalic - 9/28/2009, 6:50 PM
I just hope it's not a suped up clone of the original like the 2007 Halloween was. I think they should take their own spin on Freddy possibly with the thing that he might be innocent OR even better maybe it's not his fault maybe there's something that took control of him like a split personality that kills all those childern, then when he dies his innocent personality get burried deep and his darker side takes control when he becomes the killer we all know and love.
I think Haley is an excellent choice because he was a scary Rorschach and that's a "good guy" imagine what he can do playing a psycho!
Superman4 - 9/28/2009, 8:23 PM
i told you guys, Ror hates everything! this looks perfect, the beginning made it awesome
lilej2 - 9/28/2009, 9:53 PM
Why? Bay is raping my childhood. first chainsaw massacre and now elm street! Make some original films please!
wards - 9/29/2009, 2:38 AM
looks the dog's bollucks
thedon786 - 9/29/2009, 3:02 AM
Change the record liltard, you sound like a complete yogurt.
Gweedo, by Rob i assume you mean that [frick]ing hack Zombie? Who completely missed the entire point of the character of Michael Myers by giving him a back story. Remakes have their place sometimes, but horror remakes are mostly pointless because we have seen everything they can possibly do with an evil monster murdering people in the original..which is about an evil monster murdering people! The only difference is, the originals tend to have some originality and style and the remakes for go that for gore and cheap jump scares. Im a huge horror movie fan, but look at the remakes we have had so far. Chainsaw. Balls. Best part of that movie was Jessica Biels ass. Friday, I'm not even going to comment on that shit stain. Halloween, as i said above, Zombie has no clue what he is doing. Now this. Whats next? Remakes for The Exorcist? The Shining? But now with more gore and tits..maybe we get to see just how much Reagen enjoys that crucifix eh? Arse.
RorMachine - 9/29/2009, 7:48 AM
Wish he was taller :P
Crab - 9/29/2009, 11:28 AM
Rorsch i was just talking bout the wackness that is Rob Zombie. All he wants to do is see how much he can shock you with the blood and gore...pointless remakes. He needs to stay away from remaking classics.
MsKyle08 - 9/29/2009, 12:15 PM
@ ror and mskyle
i haven't cared for many rob zombie movies, but i DID like house of 1000 corpses.
i would LOVE to see how this series could have been without all the cheese and camp. here's to hoping they do away with it!
CorndogBurglar - 9/29/2009, 5:34 PM
The reason why hollywood keeps remaking movies like this is because most of these movies are from a series that has a built in audience. Despite how many people complain they are still going to see it even if it is just confirm that it was a crap movie.
ironknight27 - 9/29/2009, 5:54 PM
"I think they got the feel of the old Nightmare on Elm Street; "...
LOL LOL LOL
LOL LOL
LOL
wow.. that's bad... If ya want the "feel" of an original movie just watch the original.. Robert Englund made Freddy Krueger an iconic character.. rebooting this movie is a mistake.. Come FN Hollywood.. just come up with an original story.. foget the rebooting of clasics..
SUPASEGO - 9/29/2009, 7:47 PM
i didnt think they needed to remake the nightmare movies. they are amazing and a classics. i think they got a good choice for freddy tho.
odie00 - 9/29/2009, 9:58 PM
I never have, and never will, deem the killing or so near threatening of children excusable for the sake of horror, and thats all i'm going to say
TheSoulEater - 9/30/2009, 3:02 AM
awesome! but freddy looks a little flat in the face area.
and...um....its only a movie dude @TheSoulEater
Fartman - 10/1/2009, 9:12 PM
It looks good except for Haley's Freddy voice...I don't mind it being different but it's TOO different.
TonyDark - 10/2/2009, 12:30 AM
Must watch... Not because it's going to be good, but because the 'The Voice' in my dreams tells me too...
Can't sleep until then...
Magicfingers - 10/2/2009, 5:10 PM
Ok this could be the best of the remakes It looks freaking sick! No way I'm missing this movie
JHowlett - 10/3/2009, 11:20 PM
wow the trailer looks fantastic. The crew who made this movie said their Freddy Movie will have a lil bit of The Dark Knight feel, and a bit more realistic. I wasn't crazy about Freddy's look in the trailer because I thought Jackie and the rest of the movie crew would make Freddy more creepier like in the original, but I guess the realistic part was to make Freddy have a more real burnt face. This is the movie I can't wait to see in 2010.
TDKR11 - 10/4/2009, 2:03 AM
I have confidence in this due to Jackie Earle Haley's casting.
