Fantastic Four Reboot & Lone Ranger Confirmed For 2011

As Jim Hill Media reports, according to information garnered at the Licensing International Expo 2009, both 20th Century Fox's reboot of The Fantastic Four and Jerry Bruckheimer's production of The Lone Ranger will be reaching theaters in the summer of 2011.
Licensing-2009-Fantastic-Fo Of The Fantastic Four, the site notes, "it will reportedly feature an all-new cast as well as a far darker take on this classic Marvel comic." Turning to The Lone Ranger, Hill adds, "According to some folks I spoke with at Classic Media (i.e. the company that actually licenses the rights for The Lone Ranger), Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer appear to have finally chosen who will helm the epic western that they're hoping to have in theaters by the Summer of 2011. And that would be Mike Newell, the director of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as well as the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.Licensing-2009-The-Lone-Ran

All the reboots are making me sick. I see Transformers reboot in the horizon.
SirPrize - 6/15/2009, 8:55 AM
Damn they are already going to reboot the Fantastic Four?
ironknight27 - 6/15/2009, 8:59 AM
Darker. Of course they are going to make it darker, thats the done thing isnt it? I mean it worked for Batman! Of course theres just one problem, FF AINT MOTHER[frick]ING DARK! They are not even approaching gray! FF have always been a family orientated, lightly entertaining team. They are the Jonas Brothers of comics. So those 2 pieces of crap movies were actually a fair representation of the comics..whats the point in a reboot?
Rorschach01 - 6/15/2009, 9:01 AM
From what I understand, Fox has got to get a Fantastic Four film into production or the license goes back to Marvel. So their choices are to continue where they left off or reboot and (in their minds) hopefully expand the audience from the one that saw the first two. Same reason that we are very likely going to see a Daredevil reboot.
EdGross - 6/15/2009, 9:01 AM
FANTAST 4 don't need rebootin F you FOX!!! Saying that nicely lol! Damn, damn damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!! Idiots, thats all i can say! Dammit! Not only now am i dreading X-MEN FIRST CLASS but this too!!!! : /
LEEE777 - 6/15/2009, 9:02 AM
Oh whatever happened to my LoneRanger artile oh well lol! I still say JOHNNY DEPP would be a better LONE RANGER than TONTO! ; )
LEEE777 - 6/15/2009, 9:04 AM
NO more FF crap!
Puke puke puke!!!
sithenor - 6/15/2009, 9:16 AM
Mark Wahlberg for the Lone Ranger and Littlefoot for Tanto. I just cant see TLR making it. Westerns are over done and tired. Only exception is Jonah Hex.
SirPrize - 6/15/2009, 9:16 AM
I really don't see why people hate the FF movies so much, I thought they were good, fun movies.
Nubnuts - 6/15/2009, 9:20 AM
Oh F#ck that...... let the rights go back to Marvel fox has f#cked up enough movies from marvel.
Hellmont - 6/15/2009, 9:21 AM
There has to be a way for Marvel to get their properties back without having to see them bastardized on screen. Please...anybody? Beuler?
tr8cthis - 6/15/2009, 9:21 AM
JOSH BROLIN FOR LONE RANGER, PLUS A COOLER LOOK, SOMETHING NEW FOR A CHANGE, IT WOUD BE NICE IF THE LONE RANGER RESEMBLED GRIFTER FROM WILDCATS IN GARB..A MORE DARKER, LONE CHARACTER..FANTASTIC FOUR, IT HAS POTENTIAL, THERES SOMETHING THERE.PRACTICAL CREATURE COSTUME THE THING, MAYBE GET SOME ALIENS INVOLVED..AN WE GOT SOMETHING
GUNSMITH - 6/15/2009, 9:23 AM
let all the movies go back to marvel so they can incorporate them all into avengers thats the route it needs to go. Then come out with a dark avengers movie. Because i think that would be a kick ass movie. The new avengers vs dark avengers on the big screen tell me this wouldnt be awesome to see. With Jon Favreau directing
mounted88 - 6/15/2009, 9:27 AM
Why cant Hollywood understand The Dark Knight did well because even though it wasnt pulled straight from the comics, it stayed true to the characters. This has given every director/producer the idea that making a comic book movie dark makes it good. Why in the hell would anyone make a "dark" FF movie. it obviously goes agains the true nature of the characters.
longbowhunter - 6/15/2009, 9:34 AM
Why tha hell would you reboot FF? I actually liked the movies... i mean, at least somewhat.

AND DAMMIT, WHY MAKE SOMETHING "DARK" THAT ISN'T?
version4 - 6/15/2009, 9:34 AM
Fantastic Four with no Jessica Alba? NO THANKS!
Makiveli21 - 6/15/2009, 9:38 AM
a FF4 reboot? by the same company?

and only coming after a couple years that a sequel was just finished?

hhwhat?

the FF4 was lame in the comics - and therefore it came out lame in the movies. there's nothing that can be done here to re-invent the series.....
Keven - 6/15/2009, 9:44 AM
I didn't mind the cast in FF or the movies but the failing was in DOOM.........i mean ...
WTF !!!!!
teabag - 6/15/2009, 9:51 AM
It has been my understanding that most people view the Fantastic Four movies as being very poorly handled because of how the film makers involved severely misrepresented and misused popular classic Marvel characters like Dr. Doom, Silver Surfer, and Galactus.

However, in my opinion, the tone of the film was absolutely correct. It should be bright and airy with laughs and a very classic "the good guys save the day" theme.
It would be a grave mistake to make a "dark" film about Marvel's First Family. What they need to do is just make a better movie period or otherwise simply let things be.
DarthMulder - 6/15/2009, 9:53 AM
I think the casting was perfect... and the story wasn't that bad... the "Galactus cloud" was what left a bad taste in my mouth in the second one, but the movie itself wasn't bad. the first one was actually pretty good... although I too was kinda borderline on Doom.

Do you guys think Fox is just doing this to keep Marvel from getting the franchise back? I'm with Keven... why would a company reboot a franchise that they just sequalled a few years ago? It sounds fishy to me.
version4 - 6/15/2009, 10:13 AM
Well if FOX is not going to let the movie rights revert to Marvel(which would be a shame), then their best option is a reboot. It is understandable why they would want to keep FF, because comic book films make $$$, and lots of it,if done correctly. They totally screwed up Dr.Doom in the FF movies and Jessica Alba didn't cut it as Sue either. In fact, other than Chris Evans as Johnny, the casting left a lot to be desired. And more importantly,if they concentrate on story maybe they can deliver a quality FF film. As far as being "dark", this is where a proper characterization of Dr. Doom would fit in. Hopefully they will get talented writers that will deliver a smart screenplay that will lay the foundation for great FF movie. The FF deserve to be better represented than how they were in the previous films.
usclerkguy - 6/15/2009, 10:17 AM
why mess it up for the fans? when you say reboot it put a hell no why!!!! mentalalty
spanky - 6/15/2009, 10:25 AM
Why can't they get the same characters I think they all did a great job portraying the FF. Perfect choices for each role.
Kratos6 - 6/15/2009, 10:26 AM
I wish the entire cast would come back except for Jessica Alba. Personally, I don't find her to be that hot plus she doesn't even look like a real blonde. There are tons of hot blonde actresses in hollywood that can play that role. I put her casting as bad as Halle Berry playing Storm. Get it together, Fox! You don't need a super hot celebrity woman to sell tickets!

I was one of those people that wished Angela Bassett played Storm in X-Men from the beginning. Hell, if you thought she was too old, why not go with like Gabrielle Union or Garcelle Beauvais. They might not be the best choices but are better than Halle.

BTW, since Marvel started making their own movies, any CBM put out by Fox does not even come close to as good of a product. Wolverine was slightly above average at best. The best movie that was put out by Fox was X-Men 2. Please hand over the rights to Marvel so you're not wasting our time.
BuckNastee - 6/15/2009, 10:29 AM
The only dark thing they need to do to FF is make the villains more like they are in the comicbooks. Make Dr. Doom the ruler with an iron fist of Latvaria, like he is supposed to be. They need to take notes on how Marvel Ultimate Alliance portayed Galactus, why can't they just pull that off in movie form.

ScrewdUp - 6/15/2009, 10:34 AM
They are the Jonas Brothers of comics. " hehe, helll yeah Ror that IS correct. I can´t or couldn´t believe that Stan Lee would let them get away with it(the dark FF version) of his creation...
SirJediFrank - 6/15/2009, 10:36 AM
I disagree with many of you. I am looking forward to this reboot. I enjoyed the first 2 FF movies but a darker reboot is called for. I think it'll be a little more serious which it needs to be and hopefully this time around we actuall see Galactus instead of a freaking cloud!

Hopefull, the reboot comes with a bigger budget and a CGI Thing (like the Hulk) instead of a guy in a costume.

I think there's real potential in a FF franchise.
Axl - 6/15/2009, 10:38 AM
I hated the 'man in the rubber suit' as The Thing. maybe they'll get it right this time.
Jojo Risin - 6/15/2009, 10:40 AM
FF reboot makes absolutely no sense!! How can u beat the original cast? They were perfect!!
Inohaku - 6/15/2009, 11:09 AM
Fox made that shitty 1994 version with no intent of releasing it ( unbeknown to the cast ) just to stop the right going back to Marvel so it sounds like they are back to their own tricks.
I was happy with the Thing...the CGI would have to be amazing to pull off alot of screan time
teabag - 6/15/2009, 11:10 AM
I liked both the Fantastic Four movies cuz that is how the comics were as i saw and enjoyed them... except of course the huge failure that was Doctor doom. Buuuuuut still the Doc was pretty damned cool! and far closer to the comic than anyone in That Horrible Wolverine movie.... and I thought the story of prt one and 2 were more coherent than wolverine was too. I loved the snowboarding part too, even that fit into the movie better than most of the scenes in wolverine and that damned lifting and Island of Kryptonite in SuperMan Returns
shibazz - 6/15/2009, 11:12 AM
"From what I understand, Fox has got to get a Fantastic Four film into production or the license goes back to Marvel. "

If that is true and say this reboot doesn't happen (fingers crossed) does that mean that if Marvel get FF back that they too also get the rights to Surfer as well???
Cuz that would be f-ing perfect.

McSqueeze - 6/15/2009, 11:15 AM
A reboot for the FF?, Atrocious, a rebot for Daredevil? its not necesary, I actually like the movie.
Verdugo - 6/15/2009, 11:17 AM
I am a fan of comics and comic book movies. I will usually assume positive intent on the people creating these movies until I'm given a reason not to. At the end of the day they are making movies involving comic book characters I've loved since being a child. I have liked most, but not all, comic book adaptations. I like that people are making these characters and stories into movies. Hopefully they are always done with the best intentions and respect for the material. I know that's not always the case but the alternative could be no one makes comic book movies at all.

That's no fun.
Axl - 6/15/2009, 11:21 AM
A reboot, to me, doesn't necessarily mean a re-telling of the same story, unless they can figure out a way to tell it differently enough so that it works.

An FF origin story could be cool. The origin plot is pretty simple. They get there powers from a cosmic radiation storm. Because that plot point is so simple,I think someone can re-tell that story and still make it different enough from the first FF film. I don't think it's necessary but I think they could do it successfully.

Either way, hopefully we get to see a proper Thing and Galactus.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
Axl - 6/15/2009, 11:29 AM
yeah a CG-Thing is a good way to rebooth it, but do we really need the Origin story AGAIN??!!.

Curious you mentioned The Incredible Hulk, since it is MORE like a "Fixed" sequel than a rebooth,( as many have said before in other threads)... because the FF franchise could go that way:

-- Recast?- Ok, check
---CG-Thing? Idem.
---Darker take?.. mmmh, only certain characters, situations (DDoom, etc)

--REBOOTH?? ALL OVER AGAIN? ... hell noooooooooo!! :-]

So, what would be a darker Stan Lee´s cameo? Coming out from a NY alley as a freakin´ old junky asking for money to Dr. Richards??!! ;-]
SirJediFrank - 6/15/2009, 11:42 AM
They could re-tell the origin in the opening credits like the incredible hulk. The big problem is as much as i liked the two movies Fox are gonna have a hard job convincing the public to see a re-boot.....but hey there just pissing Marvel off anyway
teabag - 6/15/2009, 11:43 AM
we gotta make it dark! dark! i want thing killin people and human torch killing himself! it's going to be great! DARK DARK DARK!

dumbasses.
MasterExploder - 6/15/2009, 11:45 AM
McSqueeze i hope you are right!
shibazz - 6/15/2009, 12:00 PM
Well, if the reason is just for holding on to the rights, then why not just make a sequel? Duhh!!
Inohaku - 6/15/2009, 12:04 PM
It's funny how pretty much everyone that enjoyed the FF4 comics, enjoyed the movies and for the people like me who think they suck granny sagging ass in the comics, hated the shit out of the movies. Fact is Roar is right! Those two movies were probably the most accurate depiction of comic book characters on screen that Fox ever made. And they're rebooting it. A bunch of geniuses these guys are. Fox would actually do themselves a favor by letting them go back to Marvel and focussing on getting Deadpool and Gambit right!!! Right now they look like they're trying to grab every piece of pie they can but they eat like retards and spoil more than half of what they grab. Like i said... geniuses.

Look at my avatar... that's right baby... that's right.
Shaman - 6/15/2009, 12:05 PM
im not sure i like the sound of the FF being made darker but if that means it more mature than the last two then its good news! the last twoo FF films were far too childish and lost a lot of the cleverness that makes the comics great.

(HUGH LAURIE FOR MR. FANTASTIC!!!)
joshw24 - 6/15/2009, 12:26 PM
no reboots of Marvel movies unless they're done by Marvel Studios, they're the only ones who can make them great, not just crappy to mediocre(X3, Spidey 3, FF4, Daredevil, etc)

just you wait and see, Marvel will eventually get back most, if not all of the properties it sold off.
deadpool87 - 6/15/2009, 1:04 PM
I actually liked the F4 movies I wish they'd finish it as a trilogy.
I like the Lone Ranger but it's been a while since a really awesome western has come about. The Good the Bad and the Ugly is definatly the best western of all time if not one of the greatest films of all time.

Superman4
Superman4 - 6/15/2009, 1:09 PM
Darker doesn't mean death, at least not to me. To me, darker means more mature or more serious. I see nothing wrong with that.

Clearly, masterimploder has issues with that.
Axl - 6/15/2009, 1:16 PM
ROR liked WOLVERINE SHAMAN???? Whats your point???? Which is cool, everyone has their own taste in movies etc, but the fact is FANTASTIC FOUR was a top movie, it was FANTASTIC! ; ) A reboot or remake would suck smelly donkey poop lol!

I know alot of people that like FANTASTIC FOUR comic fans and not! Hell even my mom like FF an she don't like any comic book movies!!!

FANTASTIC FOUR and DAREDEVIL plus the first two X movies are the only decent SUPERHERO movies FOX has ever done!!!

FANTASTIC FOUR don't need rebooting end of!!! ; )

"A reboot or remake would suck smelly donkey poop lol!"

My sentiments exactly :)
Shaman - 6/15/2009, 1:35 PM
i dont think they will survive the 2011 competition.
grif - 6/15/2009, 1:39 PM
I could see a slightly more mature take on the movie doing very well. I'm not saying let's make like the dark knight, but i always enjoyed the FF comics that dealt with the thing trying to make himself fit in to society, they were dark and depressing stories and I think that's when I enjoy the ff the most. And Dr. Doom should be more menacing, his characterization was pretty bad in the first two.
thwhtGuardian - 6/15/2009, 2:07 PM
I would really enjoy seeing Atlantis and Namor in the next one.
MeanGreenHULK - 6/15/2009, 2:11 PM
Charlize Theron should have played the Invisible Girl!

Doctor Doom's portrayal in the first film was an abomination! Why the hell was Doom speaking American vernacular? He doesn't talk that way in the comics! He speaks like a European aristocrat! To have him involved in their origin was bullshit! And his powers were screwed up - he's not Electro! Doom would never be caught off guard and ousted from his own company - he's a freakin' mastermind!!!

The first movie was too influenced by the Ultimate marvel universe take on these characters. They should have followed the story from the original comics!

And anyone who doesn't like the FF needs to read John Byrne's run from FF vol.1, #s 232-293! It will blow you away, guaranteed!!!
JonF - 6/15/2009, 2:14 PM
Yeah it was pretty awful having Doom and Storm being a couple at one point.
@LEE777 think about this though, if Fox focuses on this then maybe we wont have to sit through an other Wolverine movie ;')
shibazz - 6/15/2009, 3:14 PM
Let me see if I've got this: Fox, who everyone understands makes terrible superhero movies wants to put up another FF movie - which people are tired of, up against SPiderman 4 and Thor and Captain America movies that generations have been waiting 50 years to see.

Fox, just cut your losses. Don't do another FF movie, you simply can't do it well. Let rights revert to Marvel. If you make a movie - you will loose money on it, b/c we have already decided that it will suck and that you are incapable of proving us wrong. If you don't make it, you get to keep that money to spend on something else.

The choice is yours.
Matt1212 - 6/15/2009, 3:18 PM
Daredeveil - Directors Cut, was a really good flick. Only criticism was the wooden fights by Affleck, but otherwise, very enjoyable film. Directors Cut is a totally diff. flick from the PG-13, amputated flick that fox released. No need for an FF reboot. Just leave it alone fox, learn from your mistakes and do a great job with Deadpool, Wolvie 2, X-Men First Class, X4 and you'll make lots and lots of cashish. Plus, all of us fanboys and fangirls will start being your friends again.
Cheesey1 - 6/15/2009, 3:31 PM
Thats right Lee, i liked Wolverine but im still perfectly aware of its failings. Jackman and Schreiber along with my love for the character made it watchable for me. You say you thought FF was...fantastic!! Christ on a crutch. Was it the shitty script, special effects, acting, story, music, or overall childishness that really notched it up from just good to FANTASTIC lol..like you said, each to there own, but i guarantee most people you ask will have found Wolverine a hell of a lot more entertaining than FF.
Rorschach01 - 6/15/2009, 3:51 PM
ROR/LEE: Wolverine had its faults but it was 1, 000, 000 times better than either of the FF films!!!

Cheesey1: the DD directors cut was excellent but like you said the wooden, stiff fights and the dodgy CGI let it down.

As i said in my FF fan cast there were too many mistakes made in the first two for a thrid to be any good-the origins, doom and sue being a couple, the lack of latveria, galactus being a cloud, tim story being the director-so many mistakes!

Flash forward a few years-get a slightly older cast and reboot Doom! Make him what he was in the comics-Reeds rival and the king of latveria-he could have a minor role with Namor or the N-Zone taking center stage!
joshw24 - 6/15/2009, 3:57 PM
I don't like the FF in the comics and I didn't like the movies. Seriously, it's a comic about a stretching genius, his hot but often invisible wife, her also 'hot' brother and a rocky guy with funny one liners. So the movies were comedies for the whole family. Which is fine, just not my taste. All in all it was a pretty accurate adaptation, except for some things:

Besides the point that I think Jessica Alba is totally miscast the movies failed to succeed in the only field they might have had a chance to impress me: the villains. How on earth could they [frick] up great villains like Doom and Galactus the way they did? (yeah, I know it's Fox, but still...)

Maybe a reboot is needed, if only for these villains to make an appearance in their full glory. But
1. it's Fox
2. Doom and Galactus are way too cool to send them against the Funny Family anyway :P
Kyos - 6/15/2009, 4:09 PM
Ok, I believe that all the classic comicbook favorites can be translated to film. It requires a lot of true-believing visionaries collaborating toward the same goal. Then, they have to find a way to convince us to betray our intellect and believe the story they are telling us can happen in reality. Fox has failed miserably with casting (Damn you, Lee for making it difficult to make this case with your photos of Alba!!!...damn hard!) people that may be pretty, but not really able to capture the essence. Keven is correct that the stories were never all that dark, but reality, however, is. Not TDK dark, but certainly "daring-do" circumstances are. This is where many wonderful ideas posted here ought to be considered by Fox and Marvel to negotiate a buy-back of this property. Fox is compromised in rebooting this story. They have shown that their own motivation is profit alone. Profitting from creativity is fine and should be rewarded. But creating for the sake of riding the current wave of story-style is shallow to say the least. These guys are clearly spineless shallow dirtbags. They would do well to go back to original noncomic stories.
Phinehas - 6/15/2009, 4:36 PM
Kyos: Alba was a terrible choice for the Invisible Woman! And if you're not a big fan of the FF comic books then you should check out the Mark Waid/Mike Wieringo and current Mark Millar/Bryan Hitch FF runs-they changed my mind-both are brilliant!
joshw24 - 6/15/2009, 4:36 PM
1) Reboot Doom, forget Galactus and continue on from before with the Mad Thinker.

2) If every unsuccessful comic book movie is rebooted to avoid losing the rights, how many Punisher reboots will they make. And how dark will they become?

SlurpeeGuy - 6/15/2009, 5:08 PM
joshw24:What about Byrne's second run from 1981 -'86? He OUTDID Lee and Kirby on that one!!! I think you guys are all too young to remember this!

The true FF was seen in the first 350 issues of their comic! Please read them, you will not be disappointed! The serious tone that everyone seems to think is lacking is alive and well in those issues! I also recommend looking into Carlos Pacheco's run from around '99 - '00, and Alan Davis' run from 1996-'97!

Over the years the comic has lost a lot of it's original flavor, due to the fact that all of the initial concepts have been driven into the ground by every successive creative team!

John Byrne truly suceeded in restoring the excitement to the title after a fairly pedestrian period in the title's history. If you've never read any of the old stories, I fear your view of things may be unfairly skewed; in fact I can tell it has by the harshness of the above posts!

Let's keep in mind that the Incredibles stole a lot of the FF's thunder - I think this may have influenced the filmmakers to gear the first film to more of an all ages audience. Also Chris Columbus was the producer, so he did what he saw fit to maximize the potential audience!

I think that as genre fans we often forget that these licensed films are made to appeal to the widest group possible, as their main objective is to make cash! Thus begins the age old battle between art and commerce, with all of us looking to strike the perfect balance. Fox would likely make a better distribution partner and leave the creative end to Marvel!

Although I admit that the key ingredient missing was tragedy, a reboot now would be a mistake, since it would prevent building on what has already been established. Then we can move on to focus on the Mole Man provoking the Sub - Mariner into wrongfully attacking the surface world; the Puppet Master debuting with Dragon Man looking to regain Alicia's trust and respect, and the Black Panther and the Inhumans being introduced fighting the Skrulls! There's also Diablo and his elementals and the Frightful Four, not to mention Annihilus and the Negative Zone and Franklin!

In the 60's, the FF was Marvel's flagship title! I call for it to be restored to its former glory!

A little trivia: Marvel ran into this same licensing problem in the late 70's with the Human Torch when it was farming out its properties to different distributors. This prevented Hannah Barbera from using the Torch in the 1978 cartoon, which resulted in one of the most reviled characters of all time:H.E.R.B.I.E.! This also caused Marvel's animation wing, Sunbow Productions, to create Firestar for the Spider-Man and His Amazing friends cartoon in 1982! If you can find it, the FF cartoon from 1968 is the best animated adaptation!

Now why all the references to Cap? Let's wait until an actual article pops up about him before we get into all that! It takes us too off-topic!

To mirror some of you, I too think its a big mistake to go dark with The Fantastic Four. They're campy, the first super hero family, its suppose to be PG. Not dark, what the hell?

Although not the best movies in the bunch, I actually liked the second movie better than the first. Apart from Chris Evens I thought Michael Chiklis played a pretty good Thing. Too bad the writing and the pacing of both movies crippled the shit out of it as well as a sub-par director. In Rise of the Silver Surfer, the only real casting issues that shone through was Ioan Gruffudd and Jessica Alba. Neither of them grew or improved on the character. Doom was just shit from film one. Doug Jones kicked ass as The Surfer and I wasn't bothered by how they did Galactus. It made sense. Galactus wasn't a cloud, that was his machine. They couldn't afford to CG him in and, in my opinion, did the next best thing. Showed him a couple of times in shadow/silhouette. I'd rather that then a massive ass-half cheapo rendering of him - which would have been far worse.

They don't need darker, they just need to fix three things. 1.Writing 2.Directing 3.Casting. Going dark is such a down-syndrome decision. Correction - such a FOX decision.

I hope this flops, like the rest of the shit FOX have in the works. I want FOX to spurn the Marvel properties they acquired from a time when the company was desperate and have Marvel regain them and make those films they way they are meant to be shown.
WeaponX - 6/15/2009, 8:25 PM
This wasn't really a confirmation of a reboot, just another FF film. I think the FF movies were made well and had the right atmosphere. The movies sucked because FF sucks. A perfect adaptation.

I like the idea of darker only if fox goes with the Puppet Master and Namor. Also a CGI Thing would be cool.
thwip284 - 6/15/2009, 9:59 PM
NOOOO REBOOTS FOR FANTASTIC FOUR MOVIES.
Torian Brown - 6/15/2009, 10:10 PM
Fantastic Four doesn't need a reboot, just make another sequel or forget it

or you can make a sequel with a diferrent cast or people who aren't comitted
lilej2 - 6/15/2009, 10:24 PM
i think a darker version would be pretty entertaining. leave the humor and a tad of cheesiness, but throw in some action and i think fox will have itself a hit. who wouldn't want to see the thing going pound for pound against something big, or the human torch burning the hell out of everything? or show the true power of the invisible woman. in one comic, she was the only one who could take down wolverine. when you think about it, she's actually the ultimate weapon. she can make bubbles over people's heads and suck the air dry. as for mr. fantastic, have him invent cooler things rather than just a flying hemi.

oh, and maybe it would be best to make the thing CGI. i don't dig the rubber suit at all.
ub3r - 6/15/2009, 11:07 PM
The Silver Surfer! No Fagtastic [frick]s!
SupermanReturns2 - 6/15/2009, 11:17 PM
Introduce the FRIGHTFUL FOUR!!!
teabag - 6/16/2009, 1:46 AM
JOSH @ You cant be SERIOUS??????? FANTASTIC FOUR had the spirit an the humor of the comic book!!!!

WOLVERINE didn't have anything an was a um.. 1000 times worst!!! Plus most ppl have never read a WOLVIE comic that liked that crap! ; )

I would only trust a reboot if it went back to MARVEL!!!

Fox should do a FF3 Attack of the Moleman in Manhattan!!! Think issue one cover! ; ) FANTASTIC!!!

Only MARVEL could do it, they done a not so bad reboot of THE INCREDIBLE HULK!!!

FOX will just mess it up, just like their gonna do with DAREDEVIL!!! Gonna mess 'em all up an don't start crying to me lol! ; D

SHIBAZZ @ I really think now they pimped out all the spin off characters in one, they could make a nice little WOLVERINE 2 in JAPAN movie!!! Id rather anyway a Billion times that than they mess up FF in a reboot!
(Yes FF wasn't perfect but the actors for the roles was, no one will want different actors taking over, thats alot of new cast an people wont accept it! Also its just a big sell out all these reboots an remakes, not many are any good!

Damn, i still want my FREDDY VS JASON 2 that was promised damn BOX! : D
LEEE777 - 6/16/2009, 6:33 AM
Hi, been out of town for a few days. What did I miss?

HOLY MOTHERF*CKING JESUS CHRIST! FF4 Dark?!? WTF

OK, I didn't really enjoy the 1st couple of movies but at least they kept the tone true to the comics books! Another "lets cash in on Batman" thing going on! Batman wasn't a success because it was dark, it was a success because the tone was perfect for the character! That just happened to be dark! Iron Man wasn't dark and that still did well because Iron Man isn't dark! I'm just going to type these same sentences but with the words in a different order and "dark" woven randomly in until SOMEONE gets it right!
Howlett04 - 6/16/2009, 7:04 AM
Fail.

TheJester - 6/16/2009, 9:26 AM
Maybe they should go to the negative zone or as i like to call it...the cinema when a Fox film is showing
teabag - 6/16/2009, 9:51 AM
Any "reboot" of a marvel franchise that isn't Marvel orchastrated WILL fail. All they need if they want to produce, is to continue with what they did.
Shaman - 6/16/2009, 11:40 AM
What we all realy want to know is when are we getting a reboot of Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus!!! we deserve it!!
teabag - 6/16/2009, 12:02 PM
Actually, Sharkman would kick the shit out of Namor AND Aquaman put together!!!

Shaman - 6/16/2009, 12:26 PM
Frog-Man will kick his ass
Mammal's for life
teabag - 6/16/2009, 12:45 PM
Nah-dude, this guy has a utility-belt. He'd own frog man.
Shaman - 6/16/2009, 1:15 PM
I was just wondering...are you guys able to view this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIhQ8-H0J8I

or is FOX blocking that video from you guys seeing it?

Copyright restrictions, aye? Is there any other video service where I can makes videos using copyrighted vids from FOX< Sony, Universal, Lionsgate and of course Marvel all in one awesome video?
Jojo Risin - 6/16/2009, 1:26 PM
Can't say that i know JoJo, sorry bud.
Shaman - 6/16/2009, 1:32 PM
maybe i'm focusing on the wrong thing here, but doesn't that poster up top look way more like a spider-man 4 promo than the fantastic four? red & black colors, skyline shot of nyc, interlaced cgi web designs & THE EXACT SAME font of all the other spidey flicks...

swooftguy - 6/16/2009, 1:50 PM
That was a supposed fake poster for spidey -4
but yeah since spidey is a marvel character and so are the FF i suppose it was used as a very clever conection.
Or its a screw up
teabag - 6/16/2009, 2:02 PM
I just want to kick the ass of the guy that started using the Connection of REBOOT to the movies.
Scorpioxfactor - 6/16/2009, 2:46 PM
I'll be OK with a reboot of the FF as long as they get it right. They had a terrible take on Doom in the first movie. Victor Von Doom HATES Reed Richards with every fiber of his being and blames him for everything that goes wrong in his life - that needs to be crux of the story.
SuperSkrull - 6/16/2009, 4:24 PM
Jojo: Copy and paste the embeded not URL.

The casting was weak in the FF movie because they wanted to yuck it up. If they took it a little more seriously, it could be really good! But now its more like a Ben Stiller movie than a comic to film movie.
Phinehas - 6/16/2009, 4:46 PM

They might as well get the rights to this and release it. It will cost them less and make them about the same amount of money
Cook - 6/16/2009, 4:49 PM
Cook: Thats how Fox sees comicbook films...Campy and infantile. The same is true of modern versions, except they have a larger budget and better FX. You CAN have a good movie that could even surpass the comics, you just need vision and a talent for movie storytelling.
Phinehas - 6/16/2009, 5:47 PM
That trailer looked 10 times better than the original Captain America movie LOL And doom looks THE SAME as in the last 2, Fox did LOL :P
Shaman - 6/17/2009, 9:03 AM
Ive had that fil on dvd for years....whenever i feel down or run out of viagra i watch it and all my troubles go away..... i love how the actors didn,t know how bad it was and that fox never planned on releasing it to the public.....it was just another loop hole to keep the rights
teabag - 6/17/2009, 9:13 AM
Fantastic 4 wasn't that bad, cool story/effects. Jessica Alba was hot but didn't really fit in as sue.
I was thinking when they go reboot F4 they should do something with Namor.

Made a fan poster

Btw, Isn't that the Spiderman 4 poster that is posted on top?!?
Kockie - 6/17/2009, 10:12 AM
TeaBag- Yeah... i'll give'em that LOL :P

Koochie- Nice poster dude :)
Shaman - 6/17/2009, 10:49 AM
Koochie: Awesome Poster!!! Great skill...You sketched, colored and inked that...that is some skill! Is there an art section in this convoluted website?

Phinehas: I cannot post the embedded code because YouTube says Fox owns the copyright material to the vid I uploaded. It is an awesome vid and it took a long time to do and it sucks I can't show it on here...It was basically a montage of clips that I personally edited from high quality DVD versions of; The Incredible Hulk, SpiderMan 1,2&3, XMen 1,2,3, Wolverine:(B)Origins, Fantastic 4, Rise of Silver Surfer, Iron Man, etc. All in the marvel Universe.

I set it to music of my band's studio recordings. It was quite awesome and fun to do. it was basically a music video starring Spidy, Venom, Green Gob, Sandman, Doc Oc, Ghost Rider, Wolvy, Storm, Beast, Angel, Gambit, Cyclops, jean Grey, Iron Man, Human Torch, Invisable Woman, Silver Surfer and the Incredible Hulk.

I edited out any clips that didnt have the character in it front and enter. I used most of the movies climatic action sequences...editing out any shots that didnt have the character in it...every single frame of the vid I made has an aforementioned character fron and center. For example...I edited out any shots of soldiers firing on The Incredible Hulk that didnt actually have the Hulk in the frame. I 'only' kept the clips with the hulk, and then put the clips (all of the Hulk) together. I did this with Iron Man too with the flying sequence and the cut aways to the military and fighter Jets etc...I cut out all of the boring crap that didnt feature the hero (or villain).

I left out Blade, DareDevil and Electra because I dont own the DVD's (yet). I left out 'The Thing' because I hate the man in the rubber suit look'. No offense to the actor..I like him, and I love his voice for Thing...but I can't see 'Man in rubber suit' go up against 'The Hulk'...(Although I can't see captain Kirk's father go up against Hulk either ;)

I am pissed I can't post it on YouTube....all of that work. I was already planning to make a sequel even lol.
Jojo Risin - 6/17/2009, 1:13 PM
Yes a reboot don't know alot about Fantastic Four but i know i shit load about silver sufer and was up for the movie when in saw the trailer (greatest use of only using the best bits) then i saw the film biggest pile of shit that i've ever see i spent the most of the time noticing thing that was wrong instead of enjoying the film. so i'm all for the reboot
