Arrow season 2 trainingHere's another training video from Arrow star Stephen Amell.  If you aren't impressed yet by his work ethic, I don't know what it will take to convince you that he wants to do the role justice and give fans the Green Arrow they want and deserve.

Johnny Depp in Transcendence The final box domestic box office numbers for the Johnny Depp led Transcendence sci-fi feature have to be a little disappointing.  Globally, the movie has grossed  $78.9M USD on an estimated $100M production budget. Ouch!

AAron Paul in Need For SpeedAlso reporting final domestic box office numbers, is Need For Speed. Worldwide, the film has earned $203.2M USD from an estimated $66M production budget.  While not a smash hit, these are solid numbers that could lead to a sequel.

Stephen Amell is such a G.
ComicsBornAndBred - 6/21/2014, 7:24 AM
Damn Depp has been doing some mediocre work lately. Transcendence was just aiming for this sophisticated scientific type of film with a somewhat boring and convoluted message that prob seems boring to casual moviegoers. The director was trying to make a scuff film with some hidden message about our world and technology and the future of it...a film that says something. Tryna be like Nolan but the approach and execution was bad.
ComicsBornAndBred - 6/21/2014, 7:25 AM
Amell boss as shit!!!
JoJo1982 - 6/21/2014, 7:26 AM
Stephen Amell is a beast
Lemons - 6/21/2014, 7:32 AM
Stephen Amell is The Arrow.
Comedian03 - 6/21/2014, 7:33 AM
Of course Transcendence was a flop, Johnny Depp always fails to bring in high box office numbers when he's the main star of a film.
sinsear912 - 6/21/2014, 7:43 AM
Showing exercise videos won't convince me he is dedicated to the role.
DrVenkman - 6/21/2014, 7:46 AM
Making me very excited for season 3. Can't wait to see him develop even further into the "green" arrow
Desrow - 6/21/2014, 7:58 AM
@sinsear912,

charlie2094 - 6/21/2014, 8:01 AM
Some impressive stuff, dedicated to the role for sure! Can't wait to see what they do action wise in Season 3, especially with the talk of more parkour and stuff! :D

So Transcendence was absolutely a flop. $79 on a $100m budget? That's got to hurt, Depp needs some kind of project that redeems him
DrunkenNukem - 6/21/2014, 8:02 AM
Amell is awsome!

Hurry up October!!!!
DrunkenNukem - 6/21/2014, 8:03 AM
This guy could be in a cbm without any problem
SoundWave - 6/21/2014, 8:11 AM
Amell for JL movie!!!
Kyos - 6/21/2014, 8:14 AM
Damn, those are dramtically bad numbers for Pfister and Depp! :O I'd been really excited about Transcendence once, but the more I saw of it the less interesting it looked.

How's Edge of Tomorrow performing at the BO these days? I finally managed to watch it two days ago with some friends, and we all liked it a lot. It was just an all around enjoyable experience, though not exactly spectactularly innovative or anything. Definitely deserves to be successful!
remembertheking - 6/21/2014, 8:15 AM
YEAAH NFS was a good movie with the seriousness rather than F&F comedy. I hope it gets a sequel with Aaron Paul.
Desrow - 6/21/2014, 8:19 AM
Amell should totally be in the JL movie, but I understand WB for not making him part of the original roaster, an exceptional archer without superhuman powers teaming with godlike beings, sound awfuly similar to Marvel's Hawkeye live-action version, so it's good they deviate a lil' from that.
Lert - 6/21/2014, 8:38 AM
Arrow is on the CW... because it SUCKS!
sinsear912 - 6/21/2014, 8:45 AM
Smell should totally take some acting classes.
Dud - 6/21/2014, 8:47 AM
Yeesh, Depp. Stay with Disney.
sinsear912 - 6/21/2014, 8:47 AM
Smell should totally take some acting classes.
SuperCat - 6/21/2014, 8:50 AM
YO! I'm surprised "Need for Speed" made that much.
Himura - 6/21/2014, 8:54 AM
sinsear912 should totally get a life

hating on a guy who is dedicated to the role when you probably havent stepped foot in a gym for years
MightyZeus - 6/21/2014, 9:13 AM
I guess Depp won't be Doctor Strange since he's not a hit with the crowd anymore. As for Arrow in the DCCU, i'd say no. I prefer a big budget "Green Arrow" film with a different actor to portray the emerald archer.
Comedian03 - 6/21/2014, 9:19 AM
Depp has never really been a hit with the crowd. Take a look at his filmography, and tell me the last movie where he played the lead role, that didn't flop or wasn't a giant turd. The Pirates movies don't count because he was part of an ensemble cast.

TheRationalNerd - 6/21/2014, 9:21 AM
Well one thing I know for sure is that DoFP is at $673,425,285 WW and it won't be too long until it smacks past 700million :,) looks like all of the big named CBMs are have/re going to hit that 700million this year! :D
Arrowhead77 - 6/21/2014, 9:33 AM
Whatever you think about the show, an honest person has to admit Amell is a Badass MF!

Never did get to see Need for Speed, but I really want to. Aaron Paul is great.
ManOfMystery - 6/21/2014, 9:46 AM
Depp should do comedy and romantic drama. Dr. Strange? No chance.
JoJo1982 - 6/21/2014, 9:58 AM
@blacknerd

Toldja!!!!

X-men is most likely to hit 700-710 million before Transformers 4 comes out
jimdotbeep - 6/21/2014, 10:04 AM
It's nice to see America still has some taste. Maybe one day Hollywood won't be able to limp to the barn with whatever it feels like
Pasto - 6/21/2014, 10:28 AM
I guess we know we'll be getting a sequel to NFS huh?
Comedian03 - 6/21/2014, 10:50 AM
Films in general really aren't what they used to be. Yes we get a lot of really great movies every year, but we really don't get that many absolutely original, mindblowing, outstanding, applause worthy movies.

The age of the original idea, is dying out. It seems like the only things studios are interested in these days are remakes, reboots, sequels, prequels, or adaptions. Then you have an original idea like Transcendence, and it completely bombs, not exactly helping the situation any.
McGee - 6/21/2014, 11:09 AM

I guess you could say Amell....likes to....

Play........withhimself.

McGee - 6/21/2014, 11:19 AM
And by playing with himself I'm talking about his penis.

I want to make it very clear that I'm making a joke about masturbation.
Equivocal - 6/21/2014, 11:57 AM
laughing at the people that paid to see ANY jonny dep movie,
his movie are such a waste of time & money, just like movies from michel bay...

I'm glad he's not in the run for Dr. Strange !

bs77 - 6/21/2014, 1:26 PM
What's Transcendence? Need for Speed? Are those direct to DVD movies? Huh
batmanvsuperman - 6/21/2014, 1:56 PM
Amell is so awesome
MarvelMainEvent - 6/21/2014, 1:59 PM
Very misleading box office report, at least suggesting Need for Speed is a somewhat successful movie. Disney is not pleased with the return on this movie in the least & this guy is suggesting Need for Speed box office numbers are good enough for a sequel?

Follow the math in the 3 key box offices:

1. US box office theaters keep ~50% of ticket sales
2. Non Asian overseas theaters keep ~70% of ticket sales
3. Asian theaters keep ~83% of ticket sales

Need for Speed Box Office

1. US box office: $43.5 million (Disney makes $21.8 million from US box)

2. Overseas (Non Asian) box office: $88.2 million (Disney makes $26.5 million from overseas non Asian market)

3. Asian box office: $71.5 million (Disney makes $12.2 million from Asian box office)

So in all:
1. Disney US box office take: $21.8 million
2. Disney non Asian market overseas box office take: $26.5 million
3. Disney Asian box office take: $12.2 million

Disney TOTAL BOX OFFICE TAKE from Need for Speed: $60.5 million

Add in the production / advertising budget of $105 million and Need for Speed is in the RED $44.5 million dollars.

Perhaps it breaks even in 5 years on DVD, Blu-Ray, Cable sales, etc. but this is not a movie that was successful at the box office.
MrBadTouch - 6/21/2014, 10:51 PM
@sinsear912
Then what will? A video about his feelings then?

anyway guy is awesome though.
case - 6/22/2014, 11:59 PM
I want Green Amell to cameo/exist in the DC cinematic, but I'm not at all fond of the CW flash being attached.

So I guess that leaves me up shit creek.
