SDCC '13: Tom Hiddleston On Loki Being A Force For Good

Said Tom Hiddleston in response to whether there's any part of Loki that wants to be redeemed, "I don't know if he's self-aware enough to know about what he wants or what he needs. His raison d'etre, his epithet is mischief. He lives for it. He lives for rebellion and wickedness, guile and unpredictability. I think to betray that - to let himself down in that regard would be a self betrayal." The interviewer opened up the conversation by asking about the end of the SDCC footage for "Thor: The Dark World" where Loki reportedly cuts off Thor's hand as he's reaching for mjolnir - there's online debate about whether he cuts off Thor's hand or kicks it away. Well, Tom made no effort to tell the interviewer she was incorrect about that scene so it's possible that Thor does indeed lose a hand in the film. With director Alan Taylor coming over from "Game of Thrones" it shouldn't come as a surprise that a handsome blond warrior loses a hand...if indeed that turns out to be the case.
