The promotional imagery was unveiled today at the Taiwan International Comic Exposition. The film is currently slated for a 2014 release and has secured the involvement of the anime's original director, Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell). Oshii has past experience directing live-action features but it is unknown whether he will actually direct this project or is merely on board as a consultant.

fettastic - 8/15/2013, 7:23 AM

RexBlazer1 - 8/15/2013, 7:24 AM
I think he's just a robot.
Pheezmatic - 8/15/2013, 7:25 AM
I wonder how much it cost to make that life size robot
TankD - 8/15/2013, 7:28 AM
Thats how tall the sentinels should be. not trying to complain or anything.
marvel72 - 8/15/2013, 7:39 AM

Spidey91 - 8/15/2013, 7:54 AM
@SoundWave

nop, just a regular robot.

btw, see Hollywood? you don't need overly complicated re-designs of something iconic to be "realistic".
GUNSMITH - 8/15/2013, 8:12 AM
I JUST WANNA KNOW WHAT THE QUALITY OF THE CG WILL BE...

MOVIE QUALITY...

MEDIUM...OR...

GARAGE FX...
JoeMomma29 - 8/15/2013, 8:22 AM
Gusto's robot still feels very abused!

JoeMomma29 - 8/15/2013, 8:23 AM
You know this movie could end up like this if the CGI is bad!

irishyardball - 8/15/2013, 8:28 AM
Sad that this looks better than the Sentinels in XMEN:DOFP
KrazyForKomix - 8/15/2013, 8:35 AM
Don'tcha love how AMAZINGLY faithful that robot is - one of thousands of anime robot/cyborg/mecha characters. Really well done.

Makes you wonder why our DOFP Sentinels look more like "I Robot" wannabes than Sentinels.
Sad really.
KrazyForKomix - 8/15/2013, 8:36 AM
well said irishyardball

I like it somewhat. Sure it looks like a giant toy, but it's just a glimps. It depens on how they will make it. Let's hope for another good adpation like Rouroni Kenshin.

Nipple slip for the blondie on the right!
SpectacularJoShFest - 8/15/2013, 9:06 AM
HOLY SHIT that is AWESOME!!!!
FOOM - 8/15/2013, 9:32 AM
Looks great. SO much like the anime. Now bring me Gundam 0079.
ABH1979 - 8/15/2013, 9:46 AM
Yeah, looks a lot like the source material... still wish Transformers had gone that route...
Exodus - 8/15/2013, 11:29 AM
Gundam 00 is the best. Patlabor is not bad either:)
BlindJustice - 8/15/2013, 12:03 PM
Hey, Singer...Yeah, you know what I'm going to say.

THAT is how you build a robot. You can take your hairdryer Sentinels and shove them.

Seriously though, I'm glad we're finally getting Sentinels...just wish they'd left out the giant vents on the chests. Yes, yes I know...Singer didn't want the general audience thinking he ripped off Iron Man yadda yadda yadda. Whatever.
ScabbyJ - 8/15/2013, 1:16 PM
This is dope!

Btw: the best Gundam series is not 00, but 0083. Straight up.
JettJagguarrr - 8/15/2013, 6:08 PM
LET'S DO THIS!!!!......

FOOM - 8/15/2013, 7:13 PM
No,the best Gundam series was the original Mobile Suit Gundam (ie 0079). Get with the program you Johnny-come-latelies.
ScabbyJ - 8/15/2013, 9:26 PM
The original was good, but it didn't carry the emotional weight of the short run 0083.
