Rurôni Kenshin: The Great Kyôto Fire Arc, Rurôni Kenshin: The End of a Legend Arc
Rurouni Kenshin executive producer Hiroyoshi Koiwai was kind enough to update CBM on the status of the two sequels films (Rurôni Kenshin: The Great Kyôto Fire Arc, Rurôni Kenshin: The End of a Legend Arc) currently being shot over in Japan. The production is currently entering the home stretch with filming currently taking place in Kyoto after stops in Goza (Shimasho Goza), Tottori, Kurashiki, Ibaraki and Higashiosaka(Osaka). Kyota is the last location before filming wraps. The two sequels are expected to have an approximate run time of 2 hrs

Koiwai confirmed the cast for the sequel, highlighting Maryjun Takahashi as Komagata Yumi and Lisa Ulliel in a secret role. Koiwai says Ulliel's role will be kept a secret but should be a real treat for Japanese fans and that the idea for her role came from director Keishi Ōtomo. Shinzô Matsuhashi and Minami Ichikawa serve as producers. Maya Fukuzawa is an executive producer alongside Koiwai.

The two sequels will be released next summer.
