Master Chief vs Captain America Marvel Netflix deal

Talking to IGN, actor Jamie Bell said a sequel to the Tintin movie is still happening. "It's being written...I saw Steven [Spielberg] recently, randomly. I bumped into him. I hadn't seen him for awhile, and we were talking. I asked him to sign a Tintin book for me to my unborn son and stuff, and we were talking about it. He was like, 'Yeah, it's happening. It's being written. As soon as Peter [Jackson's] back from Middle-earth, we're going to do it."

Captain America vs Master Chief? Bat in the Sun, the team that gave us Scorpion vs the White Ranger will be back in February with a new superhero battle.

We've had a lot of quotes and tidbits from ABC chief Paul Lee from the 2014 TCA's on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the potential Agent Carter spinoff. One morsel of content that seems to have slipped through the cracks is Lee's comments on the difference between the Marvel programming on ABC and the upcoming Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones shows that will stream on Netflix. THR recapped Lee's comments on the subject, saying ABC's Marvel shows are for a "bigger and broader audience" while the Netflix shows are for the hardcore "super fan". In my mind, that translates, "The Netflix shows are going to be awesome, the ABC shows are watered down in an effort to appeal to the masses." Which is a flawed thought-process as there's certainly nothing watered down about the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is what captured the attention of the masses in the first place.

Master Chief all day, everyday.
UltimateWarrior - 1/18/2014, 8:20 AM
Shouldn't that say "Disney's Marvel Studios"?
luffycapri - 1/18/2014, 8:20 AM
So the new marvel Netflix shows are going to be as good as arrow or even better ?
Kurne - 1/18/2014, 8:20 AM
Can't wait for Daredevil.
chewish - 1/18/2014, 8:22 AM
Marvel is going to own 2015
HulkbusterNYC - 1/18/2014, 8:22 AM
These Netflix shows have real potential to be great and let's face it, it will probably be the only way we get to see street level heroes considering Marvel is going cosmic right now..
thewonderer - 1/18/2014, 8:25 AM
Arrow is the bomb. Considering Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 sucked major ass, I really don't mind the Batman Vs. Superman delay with Arrow and Flash shows to keep us company.

Marvel is definitely owning financially and in world building, but goddamn is Arrow better than anything Marvel right now.
Gambitz - 1/18/2014, 8:25 AM
Oh great, another 2 minute battle with crappy hosts...
BrockSamson33 - 1/18/2014, 8:36 AM
@OldGreg

Disney owned Miramax. U didn't see that on there.
ALmight - 1/18/2014, 8:37 AM
Keep it up Marvel, keep showing WB what is like to do things right.
UltimateWarrior - 1/18/2014, 8:38 AM
I heart boobies.
Dinotron - 1/18/2014, 8:39 AM
Arrow has a chance to expose new material in a weekly basis of 20 some episodes.
Marvel Studios makes two movies a year

You can't really compare movies to TV episodes

What you CAN compare is AoS to Arrow and Arrow wins by a lot

But I will say AoS is improving, just as Arrow was hated in the first season by a lot so is AoS. I thought Arriw was great in season one but not every one is jumping on the wagon in season two. So just give it time for AoS, with the recent news of who will be appearing and so on AoS is headed in the right direction. Come season 2 it might even reach Arrow levels of excitement
UltimateWarrior - 1/18/2014, 8:39 AM
Superpowered beats down's are awesome, and I hope this one is just as good.
JoJo1982 - 1/18/2014, 8:45 AM
That's going to be great for Netflix but even better for us fans

I hope it becomes very successful and the beginning for more future marvel Netflix shows.
I got a question is daredevil, iron fist, luke cage, and Jessica jones all come out in 2015?
Kurne - 1/18/2014, 8:45 AM
@Wonderer

"but goddamn is Arrow better than anything Marvel right now."

... Lol.

Lol again.
AstonishingArachnid - 1/18/2014, 8:46 AM
@Dinotron I agree 100%. Although I have enjoyed Arrow through thick and thin some people seem to forget that the first season wasn't as well received as they imagine it to be. There no doubt season 2 is phenomenal but it had a slow albeit intriguing start which a lot of people boycotted. It's the very same reason why I continued to watch AoS and they pay off is here. They fixed a lot of the problems fans pointed out and there is a lot more charcters from the comics being introduced.
JoJo1982 - 1/18/2014, 8:49 AM
@dinotron

Exactly, everyone jumped on the bandwagon for arrow season 2, but talk bad about season 1 and I enjoyed season(except for the huntress episodes).

It seems now this 2nd half of AoS season everyone that was talking bad about it are jumping on the bandwagon too
charlie2094 - 1/18/2014, 8:51 AM
Really hope the Netflix shows turn out better than Agents of SHIELD...sure it will though, especially Daredevil with Goddard behind it, being on Netflix, 10 episodes instead of 22 etc The Daredevil show is actually the MCU property I'm looking forward to the most...

Can't wait to see how they turn out! Just hope the potential of the shows isn't squandered again like SHIELD was...slowly improving, but not that much, the last episode was decent
Priest - 1/18/2014, 8:53 AM
@ thewonderer,

Yeah, Iron Man 3 sucked so bad that it received high scores from the critics, made over a billion dollars box office AND it's being nominated for an Oscar.

Yeah, awful movie. *rolls eyes*
charlie2094 - 1/18/2014, 8:57 AM
@Priest

It was nominated for a visual effects oscar...those don't speak of quality, Transformers are always nominated for those :P It's average review score is 6.9 which is decent, but nothing great....still love the film, but it's not done THAT well :P Box office for sure
JoJo1982 - 1/18/2014, 9:02 AM
@bravado

Well said
RedHood13 - 1/18/2014, 9:03 AM
Can't Wait for Luke Cage's show,
JokerEl - 1/18/2014, 9:05 AM
Agreed. Doesn't get better than Arrow.
ALmight - 1/18/2014, 9:08 AM
I feel like some people who are hardcore DC fans are grasping at straws here. I get it, we are all disappointed at BvS being pushed back but does that mean you guys are going to have to put Arrow on pedestal every time there are Marvel news? Again, grasping at straws.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 1/18/2014, 9:08 AM
The Chief all the way.
DudeLove721 - 1/18/2014, 9:11 AM
I don't read it as being watered down for ABC. I read it more as S.H.I.E.L.D. not pushing the envelope too much so that people of all ages can watch it. Let's be honest, if hardcore fans want shows that are true to the comics, the Netflicks shows will have to show some more mature content -- Daredevil and Jessica Jones, specifically. I think the Netflicks deal will allow them to create something that's for more mature audiences.
Ranger14 - 1/18/2014, 9:14 AM
DudeLove721@ Exactly!
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/18/2014, 9:15 AM
There are certain fools that are sounding stupid. Agents is a good show and the beginning episodes reminded me of NCIS mixed with CSI. Just like those shows have spinoffs, marvel is trying to have that with shield by trying to get agent carter up and going. Some of you fools just want superheros doing super things. If any of you were smart and watched what is on network tv then you would know agents was perfect for ABC because .............IT FOCUSED ON AGENTS!!!!! Stupid is as stupid does
DeadpoolMikeyXD - 1/18/2014, 9:16 AM
@thewonderer Are you smoking crack? I loved Thor2 and IM3. You must have walked into the wrong theater or something. I agree with you on one note. Arrow is better than everything Marvel has... On TV.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/18/2014, 9:20 AM
Mark Julian has the nerve to say AOS is watered down like Arrow isn't. That's not Arrow on screen you dc haters. You know it. This season of AOS will trump season 1 of arrow when its all said and done. We are getting more agents and Lady Sif. Yeah the version from the movies who is actually powerful. Unlike arrow with all that made up Shit.
rorywilliams - 1/18/2014, 9:21 AM
How the hell does one get the impression that "mass audience" means "Watered down". ALL the Marvel films are made for a mass audience. Do you think the 500,000 so people reading comics are what gave the Avengers and Iron Man 3 billion dollar box office grosses?

He's saying that ABC has a much wider audience than Netflix so SHIELD (as mediocre as it is) is trying to target as many people as possible, while the Netflix shows won't have to since they won't have as many viewers.
RoyRodgersMcFreely - 1/18/2014, 9:22 AM
Arrow isn't even better than the first 5 seasons of smallville. Both arrow and AoS are designed for little kids.
Sounds like the suicide rate is going to be catastrophic around here when DC casts flash and green arrow for justice league that aren't amell or gustin
Super12 - 1/18/2014, 9:23 AM
Master Chief is basically Captain America but with wayyyyyyyy better weapons. This is a no-brainer.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/18/2014, 9:25 AM
Netflix shows will turn the superhero game on its head. All these comicbook shows heading to tv won't touch the netflix show and what they can get away with.

This makes sense because I remember many of you didn't want a shield show or movie in the first place.

Lee's comments on the difference between the Marvel programming on ABC and the upcoming Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones shows that will stream on Netflix. THR recapped Lee's comments on the subject, saying ABC's Marvel shows are for a "bigger and broader audience" while the Netflix shows are for the hardcore "super fan".

Now take that garbage arrow basement show talk somewhere else with its 0.9 rating on its mid season premier. ;)
JoJo1982 - 1/18/2014, 9:26 AM
I wonder who all will be having guest appearance on Daredevil show?
Moon Knight and Punisher would perfect, also can set up for their own solo shows.

Nova Corps tv show can be like the Star Trek of marvel
SuperCat - 1/18/2014, 9:29 AM
Can't wait to see Luke Cage! I hear no one understands him but his woman.

TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/18/2014, 9:32 AM
And now somebody had the nerve to say Agents of Shield is for kids. Smdh. Folks I want you to do a research project and watch reruns of NCIS and some of CSI and sit here and tell me that agents isn't similar on how it engages the audience. Clowns take your makeup off and your clown shoes off. Smdh. Don't even know what catches the eye of the network audiences with your dumb selves. Everyone always wants to keep their comicbook hat on 24/7 when it comes to everything.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/18/2014, 9:35 AM
@jojo maybe moonknight can have an appearance but no no to punisher guest appearing on the first season of any of these netfilx shows. I still want a proper punisher show first. A nasty shootem up bang bang show. Punisher: Warzone was over the top but depicted the real punisher. I want something on par with how that movie depicted him. ;)
JoJo1982 - 1/18/2014, 9:36 AM
@supercat

I wonder who they going to get to play Luke Cage?
