We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man has swung into theaters. Now playing!

I kinda like the last Rhino design.
FastFlames - 5/25/2014, 4:10 PM
Well atleast DOFP and Winter Soilder were really good...
Lemons - 5/25/2014, 4:12 PM
This movie was bad. Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan and Sally Field were great. Everyone else sucked and the villains were corny.
Dandy - 5/25/2014, 4:15 PM
A bummer of a movie, but at least the visual look of it was solid.
Pending - 5/25/2014, 4:15 PM
"Who are you?"

"Don't you know I'm ELECTRO!"

Pasto - 5/25/2014, 4:16 PM
I've said this before, but the last scene of TASM 2 where Spidey is about to fight Rhino, it was a sad reminder that we could have gotten the CBM we deserved.
CaptainObvious - 5/25/2014, 4:22 PM
The fact that there were three villains in this movie proves Sony didn't learn from the mistakes of SM3. Because it's better than to churn out the same product over and over again rather than making improvements.
LEEE777 - 5/25/2014, 4:28 PM
RHINO only had a bit part at the end anyway like prototype armor for Sinister Six I suppose :p

As much as I prefer the Raimi movies more, I wanna see how SS pans out... still rather Raimi come back like Singer did though!
ManCalledSting - 5/25/2014, 4:51 PM
It was a decent movie.
0megaDaGod - 5/25/2014, 4:52 PM
If you're familiar (or unfamiliar) with Film Crit Hulk, I'd suggest you read this

Dude goes OFF on TASM2. I'm not sure I could've even gone this deep on it if I'd taken a few hours to do it
0megaDaGod - 5/25/2014, 4:53 PM
AAwww shit

Video opens with Kafka

Immediately had to turn it off. It's like they decided to make a Raimi movie mixed with a Webb movie and forgot that one of those was good because it never tried to be something different while one of them sucked because it had no idea what it wanted to be
SuperCat - 5/25/2014, 4:55 PM
Man, this movie...

Pending - 5/25/2014, 4:58 PM

Yeah, he really shines a light on how sinister (pun intended) the TASM franchise really is. Teaches nothing but bad morals and Peter Parker in these movies is a real sociopath.
SuperCat - 5/25/2014, 5:01 PM
0megaDaGod - 5/25/2014, 5:05 PM

Yea, it's pretty insiteful. The problem with the movie is, in order to appeal to a teenage audience which is obsessed with the morally grey (even moreso than teens normally are), the movie portrays Peter as almost completely care free. Like, he really only cares about enjoying himself and having what he wants, and the things that would make him specifically a great Spider Man are almost assumed and never expanded on and therefore end up becoming non existent. There's literally nothing about him as a person that would make him a great Spider Man other than the fact that he isn't a terrible person (which he kinda is, in certain ways)

Add to that, the fact that the movie makes it so that he was basically DESTINED to be Spider Man, it actually makes all the circumstantial shit from the first movie even more ridiculous. You mean to tell me that the ONLY person in the world who could become Spider Man is also the guy who just so happens to accidentally sneak into a room full of Spiders which can actually turn him into Spider Man?

It's not lazy writing. It's insulting writing
GL - 5/25/2014, 5:35 PM
Here comes the annoying bashing of this movie
GL - 5/25/2014, 5:35 PM
It had it's flaws, but it was entertaining as hell. It was like watching a real life comicbook.
cwarrior - 5/25/2014, 5:38 PM
Pending already started he has an obsession with this franchise
I was disappointed by it but you don't see me coming every second talking about it
superbatspiderman - 5/25/2014, 5:39 PM
I enjoyed this movie and it had many redeeming qualities but it was kind of a mess. The relationship between Gwen and Peter was the best part. I liked how all the villains looked but their execution could have been better.
Pending - 5/25/2014, 5:42 PM

It is insulting and it really isn't Spider-Man at all. There's a scene in the Ultimate Spider-Man comic where Aunt May catches Peter coming home late and bruised and she brings the hammer down on him telling him that he's grounded and needs to come straight home after school cause she can't afford to lose someone else and that she'll even call the cops on him if she has to.

Scene really sums up how hard it is to be Spider-Man and also having to keep the needs of loved ones in check.

Unlike TASM where all Peter does is tell Aunt May that he'll do whatever wants and she just has to deal with the stress of it and then their relationship is magically resolved at the end for no reason. He essentially bullied Aunt May into submission and the movie treats it like a good thing. It's weird how Marc Webb as a director doesn't catch these awful things his films say.
CombatWombat - 5/25/2014, 5:51 PM
it was about what I expected it to be. meaning it was fun enough while it lasted but totally forgettable. it gave me some bad flashbacks to Batman Forever
chrispunk28 - 5/25/2014, 6:11 PM
fuk this movie!!!!! I'm glad it bomb the way it did..We just need for sony to file for bankruptcy and the rights for spiderman to go back to Marvel the true king!
Mike89 - 5/25/2014, 6:11 PM
The movie was sooooo dissapointing.
Jollem - 5/25/2014, 6:20 PM

ibravosp5 - 5/25/2014, 6:43 PM
I honestly think this movie could've been better but I enjoyed it.... I also think Harry's story had more importance than electros.
sameoldthing - 5/25/2014, 6:47 PM
The villains were AWWWWWFUL.
No more articles about those crappy characters.
Aside from Spidey swinging & Gwen's death is weak.
dickmastaflex - 5/25/2014, 6:56 PM
This movie wasent that good but you can't say the raimi versions were great they were terrible as well. They are beyond corny.
Jollem - 5/25/2014, 6:58 PM
great villains

MightyZeus - 5/25/2014, 7:14 PM
It was a disappointing film and it could have been much much better, especially since i enjoyed the first TASM.
sameoldthing - 5/25/2014, 7:17 PM
At least the Raimi films were fun, these "amazing" films are bland & very unlike the tone of Spider-Man's character.
cld247 - 5/25/2014, 7:20 PM
I loved it!!! I don't get all the hate!!!! Oh well.... @ Jollem I 100% agree.....
Mirage19 - 5/25/2014, 7:24 PM
Loved the movie second favorite spider-man movie.
Jollem - 5/25/2014, 7:28 PM
@cld247 - hell yeah. great cbm. great spidey movie

batmanvsuperman - 5/25/2014, 8:40 PM
Shut the hell up no one cares..this movie was [frick]ing awesome best spiderman film great villain's cant wait for the next one
BmanHall - 5/25/2014, 8:40 PM
Even though the movie was average, it was worlds better than the last one. Still, I can't deny that the special effects were great and that Spider-Man costume... Oh, so perfect.
loki668 - 5/25/2014, 10:37 PM
I've watched this film twice now. I enjoyed it, for the most part, but I can see the flaws that everyone else is so upset about. I enjoyed the film anyway, but I am hoping for something much stronger and cohesive with the Sinister Six and the next Spidey film.
loki668 - 5/25/2014, 10:38 PM
cld247 - 5/25/2014, 10:49 PM
@Jollem hell yeah!!!!! I know I can't wait for the sinister 6 I'm so excited..... Haters gonna hate just like with Man of Steel but [frick] them!!!!!! Glad someone knows what's up....
