You may know Charlie Cox from his starring role as Tristan Thorne in Stardust or Owen Sleater on the HBO Series Boardwalk Empire, but you may soon know him as the Man Without Fear. This past weekend El Mayimbe of Latino Review was the first to break the news that Drew Goddard ("Cabin in the Woods") had departed Marvel's Daredevil Netflix series and now he has another juicy scoop pertaining to the Hero of Hell's Kitchen.
"I am hearing that Charlie Cox, the English actor best known for his starring role as Tristan Thorne in Stardust and more recently for his supporting role in the second and third seasons of HBO's Boardwalk Empire, is looking like he is going to be Marvel's Daredevil!" - El Mayimbe

And now Variety has confirmed the news.
"British actor Charlie Cox has secured the titular role of “Daredevil” in Marvel/Netflix’s upcoming live-action series, sources confirm to Variety." - Variety
Marvel is proud to announce that acclaimed writer, director and producer Steven S. DeKnight ("Spartacus," "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer," "Angel") has joined "Marvel's Daredevil" as Executive Producer & Showrunner on the all-new 13-episode series premiering on Netflix in 2015. Drew Goddard, who also wrote the first two episodes, will continue to serve as Executive Producer on "Marvel"s Daredevil" as he writes and preps Sony's "The Amazing Spider-Man" spin-off film, "The Sinister Six."

You know what, give him a haircut and some red shades and he kinda looks like a Gary Frank 'Matt Murdock'.

I liked him in Boardwalk Empire but I still prefer Efron just because of how much it'll piss off yoss.
SageMode - 5/27/2014, 1:13 PM
Haven't seen him act, so I can't say in that regard. But look-wise, I dont see it,

Gandhi - 5/27/2014, 1:16 PM
WTF is this!? He's not blind!
TheAbaryMan369 - 5/27/2014, 1:19 PM
Yikes. He's a pretty decent actor, but doesn't have the right look and personality.
TheAbaryMan369 - 5/27/2014, 1:19 PM
He would make a better Iron Fist actually!
JoeMomma29 - 5/27/2014, 1:20 PM
Efron would have been a good choice if this is true.
MrCBM56 - 5/27/2014, 1:23 PM
Give me updates on Iron Fist... Luke Cage... And Jessica Jones. Enough talk about Daredevil
writernick - 5/27/2014, 1:23 PM
Michael C.Hall or Damian Lewis for DD
Arrowhead77 - 5/27/2014, 1:23 PM
Lol....no.
Destined - 5/27/2014, 1:24 PM

Gusto - 5/27/2014, 1:24 PM
I still say they should have cast me.
I'm a badass daredevil!!!

MrCBM56 - 5/27/2014, 1:24 PM
@Ghandi LMAO!
KallarkKent - 5/27/2014, 1:26 PM
I am hoping this is just a rumor. My top choice is Damian Lewis.

blackandyellow - 5/27/2014, 1:27 PM
Damian Lewis was the shit in Band of Brothers, but he's too old now.
DukeAcureds - 5/27/2014, 1:27 PM
That is so spookular.
I was just sat here watching the Godfather trilogy and my mind wandered to how Marlon Brando and Robert DeNiro (who both play Vito Corleone in the trilogy) have been in DC movies. Brando in Superman and DeNiro in Stardust.
Then the thought suddenly occured to me, they could have easily selected Charlie Cox to be Superman. Both of are posh Brits. I was sat musing what a lucky escape that was, then I read this article.
ezio619 - 5/27/2014, 1:28 PM
mrcbm-well u are probably gonna hear about DD for awhile cause they are gonna shoot this first and when its done, they are gonna shoot Jessica Jones,Luke Cage and Iron fist then.
DukeAcureds - 5/27/2014, 1:29 PM
Also, since the last Daredevil, Ben Affleck is now Batman and is being referred to as Batfleck, perhaps his replacement for the role of Daredevil, Charlie Cox, should be referred to as DareCox. Right? Too gay?
ezio619 - 5/27/2014, 1:30 PM
if he wasnt already doing a show,i would have chosen Ian Somerhalder as Matt Murdock, sure he is on Vampire Diaries but he is a really good actor imo
Brainiac13 - 5/27/2014, 1:30 PM
@Gusto

Ouch!

Shaman - 5/27/2014, 1:30 PM
At this point... i'd even take Nick Cage.

That's right. I went there.
Interestein - 5/27/2014, 1:31 PM
I hope this is just a rumour.
Nomadic1 - 5/27/2014, 1:31 PM
He was good in Boardwalk Empire, until he ended up in a box.

StarYeezus - 5/27/2014, 1:31 PM
Finally some casting news... Now tell us who's playing Bullseye, Elektra, and Kingpin. Shooting starts in less than 2 months for Christ's sake.
McGee - 5/27/2014, 1:34 PM
Gusto gets so much ass...

soforizo - 5/27/2014, 1:34 PM
I hope it's just a rumor.
Pasto - 5/27/2014, 1:35 PM
I....Must....POOOOOOOOOOP!
StarYeezus - 5/27/2014, 1:38 PM
