ButtHurt - 6/2/2014, 2:13 AM
Man, Carrie Fisher has really let herself go...she looks like a pig!
MightyZeus - 6/2/2014, 2:13 AM

Oh man these set pics are very good!
AsgardianHobo - 6/2/2014, 2:23 AM
getting an old-school star wars vibe from some of these pics. Not that ultra-clean/sterile look the prequels have (basically all indoor greenscreens and Lucas sitting on his fat ass in front of 3 monitors).
NeoBaggins - 6/2/2014, 2:35 AM
It still hasn't really sunk in that STAR WARS episode 7 is being made. With the original cast at that. Even as I look at these pictures its surreal. I just can't believe it yet.
Lozzy - 6/2/2014, 2:44 AM
@NeoBaggins

I know right! It feels too good to be true.
jimoakley666 - 6/2/2014, 2:46 AM

J.J. Abrams will bring balance to the force...

Help us J.J. Abrams, you're our only hope!

I'm guessing George Lucas is Darth Vader...
He was good at first, then his movies went to the darkside LOL
mmadadamm - 6/2/2014, 3:03 AM
F Disney and F Marvel
LensmanMatt92 - 6/2/2014, 3:07 AM
Its a giant mole pig.
batz11 - 6/2/2014, 3:09 AM
LOL @Butthurt, damn, you beat me to it, and I had promised no more Carrie "fat" jokes...

Seriously, I love they're using practical effects for the creature, but in this day and age, is it really necessary any more?

One bonus, we get to see set pics of the practical pieces at least...
charlie2094 - 6/2/2014, 3:13 AM
Looks great! Practical is often far better, much easier and better for actors to act against too, can often times tell what's fake and not really there, no matter how good it looks. Practical + cgi touch up is perfect!

Looks like Star Wars to me, still kind of amazed this is actually happening!

I think you mean Tusken Raiders. Jawas are the short things with glowy eyes.
Ceejay - 6/2/2014, 3:34 AM
Still feel there's something perversely wrong about any Star Wars movie starting with the Disney castle instead of the 20th Century Fox fanfare.

Since I was a kid in the 70's that Fox Fanfare has been the initiation of everything Star Wars in the theater. It just won't feel 100% right starting with this..

Instead of this..

Lozzy - 6/2/2014, 3:42 AM
@ceejay

We don't see the Disney logo in front of the marvel movies so I doubt we will see it in front of the Star Wars movies.
AsgardianHobo - 6/2/2014, 3:56 AM
@Lozzy

don't bother, Ceejay constantly has a vendetta out against a "certain studio". nothing is going to change that
Starkasm - 6/2/2014, 4:00 AM
I've got high hopes for this new trilogy.
nikgrid - 6/2/2014, 4:03 AM
Ceejay is right though, the Fox fanfare was kind of part of the Star Wars Experience....doesn't matter I bet someone will edit it on to the film.
Badmuffin - 6/2/2014, 4:08 AM
Less CGI more fun.
AsgardianHobo - 6/2/2014, 4:09 AM
@Nikgrid

I agree, the Fox fanfare was a thing that i remember from every Star Wars watching experience, and from now on I guess it will be different. But it's not going to have the Disney castle logo most likely at the beginning. :P

Then I remember that the prequels had the fanfare also, and look how that turned out......:(
