Deadline is reporting that Rawson Marshall Thurber ("We're The Millers") is still the favorite for Ant-Man despite reports that he passed on the project yesterday. They also added two more names for us to bicker about, Nicholas Stoller and Michael Dowse. Stoller, is best known for directing 2008's Forgetting Sarah Marshall, 2010's Get Him to the Greek and 2014's Neighbors. Stoller also has plenty of writing credits, most notably: The Muppets, Gulliver's Travels and Yes Man. Dowse, is best known for directing Take Me Home Tonight and Goon.

Marvel's "mite"-iest hero will hit theaters July 17, 2015 courtesy of director Edgar Wright, from a screenplay Edgar co-wrote with Joe Cornish. The film stars: Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. The cast also includes: Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, Corey Stoll, Patrick Wilson and Matt Gerald.

Get Him to the Greek was hilarious, but Marvel is really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

Goon rules.
CherryBomb - 6/4/2014, 1:08 PM
Stiller sounds good.
I'm just baffled as to why they're going with straight-up comedy directors. I chose Stoller because at least some of his movies have actual emotion other than laughter in them.
BatManiac - 6/4/2014, 1:08 PM
No MARVEL!

Get Todd Phillips!
MexicanChinman - 6/4/2014, 1:08 PM
Shit get Uwe Ball to direct. He makes Steven Spielberg look like Ed Wood. Uwe Ball needs to got off the video game movie market and go do cbm from now on.

Marvel has no comment at this time.
SpiderFraud - 6/4/2014, 1:13 PM
All these replacement directors, sound lame.

blackandyellow - 6/4/2014, 1:14 PM
I love the background image of Pym giving Janet some Irish Sunglasses.
blackandyellow - 6/4/2014, 1:14 PM

ALegendaryPanda- Cool avatar, man.
ezio619 - 6/4/2014, 1:15 PM
also sure marvel might have more people on the list but they interviews mckay ,they talked about it and then went into negotations and then mckay couldnt do it and thurber passed but some outlets are saying he was never offered it..maybe its less of a mess then the media is making it out to be
Phronesis - 6/4/2014, 1:15 PM
My interest for this movie is at an all time low. Ever since the casting of Michael Douglas, everything went downhill from there in my opinion. Was never fond of a decrepit Pym and even if the movie is great, my problem(s) will persist.
Nomis - 6/4/2014, 1:15 PM
@ B & Y - "Irish Sunglasses"?

So, so wrong! :)
DAGuess - 6/4/2014, 1:15 PM
Why not just have Wes Anderson do it.
blackandyellow - 6/4/2014, 1:15 PM
cipher, you need to check that shit out ASAP.
ALegendaryPanda - 6/4/2014, 1:16 PM
@Cipher
