The story unfolds in a near future in which a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake. No army in the world can match the speed, brutality or seeming prescience of the weaponized Mimic fighters or their telepathic commanders. But now the world’s armies have joined forces for a last stand offensive against the alien horde, with no second chances. Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an Alpha down with him. But, impossibly, he awakens back at the beginning of the same hellish day, and is forced to fight and die again…and again. Direct physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop—dooming him to live out the same brutal combat over and over. But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth. As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.

EDGE OF TOMORROW is being directed by Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”) from a screenplay written by Dante Harper, Christopher McQuarrie and Joby Harold, based on the novel "All You Need Is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The film stars: Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Jonas Armstrong (BBC’s “Robin Hood”), Tony Way, Kick Gurry, Franz Drameh, and Charlotte Riley. The film will hit theaters June 6, 2014.

Looks pretty cool. Too bad not doing to well at box office

At the beggining the suits seem kind of lame, but when they start to use them right they're great.
Deodorant - 6/7/2014, 12:09 PM
Cool! The film did great in making these concepts real.
DaVinci31 - 6/7/2014, 12:10 PM

Interesting.

The actual U.S.military will indeed end up making gear very similar to the ones in the film.
They are already developing Exo-Suits now..just a matter of time.

Those & Drones are the future of warfare..All You Need Is Kill..indeed.

No shit.., it makes you wish the online community never existed. Screen review. What shall complicate this?
Comedian03 - 6/7/2014, 12:57 PM
This movie surprised the hell out me.
Really thought I was going to be in for another generic sci-fi movie. For the most part, this movie kicks ass.

I wrote a review, not that anyone cares.

Hey there comedian.., haha! Don;t make me cry! I still have visuals of the "drop" if you know what I mean. I loved the allmost inability to track Tom, once he hit the switch and deployed. If I were 13 and I saw Edge of Tomorrow, I'd asking where the damn action figures are.., I'm serious! Aliens('86) fans would probably out of curiousity pick up 1:18 scale figs. Wopather? Want to make some figures of your cousin? You were great in "In The Bedroom" and so was frickin; Wilkinson. That guy should have gotten more exposure for that role back in '02! Good film!

just like oblivion. no art of the movie book. what a loss
Hexagram - 6/7/2014, 1:31 PM
The tech in this movie took me back to July 1986.., in a great way!
Hexagram - 6/7/2014, 1:34 PM
I agree Grif, I want the book they adapted or any artwork involved. Kosinski has obviously proved he just needs good writing, but one of the terms he used to design the look of Oblivion was: beautiful desolation. I got it. Watch Oblivion on the best format available and enjoy the respect and creativity!

Those aliens were crazy creepy, was always hoping they'd slow down for a sec, just to get a better look...loved this movie...always been a fan of Cruise, this obviously didn't change anything...Blunt was great, her as Black Widow, damn, what a loss...
Hexagram - 6/7/2014, 1:38 PM
@comedian03

A tad butthurt? All a sudden and you want some sympathy? Are you frickin' serious?
Hexagram - 6/7/2014, 1:39 PM
@batz11

Scroll back ten seconds.

Batz is Nailbiter and I just shaved my balls for the first time!
batz11 - 6/7/2014, 1:49 PM
Careful man-scaping those balls of yours, for me, always the best part of my day...

Batz11 just enabled a glint of sunlight to procure a She-Ra Princess of Power Cartman-like tea party. Where were the invites dick? I once brushed shoulders with BIll Murray!

Great flick. People will catch on. A lot of fun.
Hexagram - 6/7/2014, 2:39 PM
I'm sorry Comedian03.., I sincerely thought the animated characters were preparing for something bigger!
Hexagram - 6/7/2014, 2:55 PM
"..my focus was not on you or anything else."

She's stunning in this!
Mike89 - 6/7/2014, 3:50 PM
The movie was great. Glad to see Tom Cruise still doing movies like this.
pointman - 6/7/2014, 3:56 PM
Exosuits are on the way in todays military. Great for what it is designed for, but would be rubbish for snoop and poop guys.
GothamSon - 6/7/2014, 5:23 PM
SPOILERS:

Tom Cruise makes a load of money this weekend.

Nice art, battle-axe would have been cool.
billnye69 - 6/7/2014, 5:45 PM
The action in the movie was really poor......really boring.><
Liverpool4life - 6/7/2014, 6:26 PM
I saw it yesterday and really liked it. Emily Blunt is fantastic, carries the film more so than Tom Cruise. Never a dull moment.
BasedThanos - 6/7/2014, 7:39 PM
I read the exosuit designs are based on actual designs for real exoskeletal suits.
ScabbyJ - 6/7/2014, 8:04 PM
You guys are killing me with these ads at the top of the pages. Had to refresh at least 8 times to be able to navigate.
Darktower - 6/7/2014, 9:00 PM
Wen i frist saw the design i thought it looks a bit like the Halo Suit !... grt movie!
loki668 - 6/7/2014, 10:20 PM
The movie is better than the box office is showing. I'm hoping it has a big weekend.
loki668 - 6/8/2014, 12:49 AM
