like that last design, and a lot of those other ones look like Nimrod.
Mike89 - 6/10/2014, 5:50 PM
Some of these are ok. But im glad they went with the design for the movie.
npamusic - 6/10/2014, 5:53 PM
Dis one...

It looks like a mix between the SNL1 from the 1970s, and the comic book version of the character... but more-so, it looks like an updated version of the ones featured in the 1970s.
npamusic - 6/10/2014, 5:55 PM

in comparison to dis.

what in the actual [frick]
Marqy47 - 6/10/2014, 5:57 PM
YUp ... definetly nimrod-inspired look ... I like the last one because it is kind of similar to classic sentinels but I also like the compromise they made for the final product ... the powers are Nimrod-inspired and the look is like the last pic with the orgnic feel of the upper pics .... Very nice
DoubleD - 6/10/2014, 6:01 PM
They all suck ! I wasn't really happy with the way they looked in the movie either.
Humperdink - 6/10/2014, 6:04 PM
I kind of like the rough Nimrod inspired one.
Could use a bit more work but it doesn't look like a totally bad direction to go in.
OrgasmicPotatoe - 6/10/2014, 6:06 PM
Yeah, the future sentinels looked way more like aliens than anything "robotic". They should have kept a desing more in line with the 70's one.
GenerationX - 6/10/2014, 6:08 PM
The last two are the best
Marqy47 - 6/10/2014, 6:10 PM
Why ? I think the big differences between the 70s models and the 2020s models are great for showing how much the tech has progressed and how much actually Mystiques powers helped ... ale the scaly look of the future sentinels is a nice nod to how Ravens powers work.
mgeoff88 - 6/10/2014, 6:11 PM
The last one is how the future Sentinels should've looked.
CookieKid247 - 6/10/2014, 6:13 PM
Too 'Day the Earth Stood Still' for me
shadearts - 6/10/2014, 6:14 PM
Still gotta say the Sentinels adaption doesn't make sense with Mystique's DNA thats not her power to adapt to powers of her enemy its to look like others not to change powers thats more like Darwin's or Rogue's power
Marqy47 - 6/10/2014, 6:20 PM
@shade

Heres a thought. In the movie they only say that they can adapt. They dont mention if they adapt instantly and if they can adapt to any situation imaginable .... OR (and heres my thought) if it is more like they record mutant powers and even if they are destroyed the data is sent and the next line of sentinels will be produced with a defense mechanism for this power using the tech created from mystiques DNA as a means of changing between different counter-measures to withstand powers and kill mutants ...
Pasto - 6/10/2014, 6:20 PM
The last one is solid.
RobtimusPrime - 6/10/2014, 6:21 PM
Last one is the winner. The rest? Fail.

Still wish they would have taken the more classic look.
OpticBlastWins - 6/10/2014, 6:26 PM
Minus the last one good lord those look bad
maninfinesuit - 6/10/2014, 6:28 PM
The very last one is perfect.
CletusKasady89 - 6/10/2014, 6:33 PM
All garbage except the last one.
storyteller - 6/10/2014, 6:38 PM
Yeah I figured Mystique cells allowed them to change their bodies quickly but it was not directly what gave them the power take other mutants powers.

Then again what we really see are state changes. Mystique can take on the texture and so they adapt that. Heating and Cooling could be a robot thing.
ShelfPorn - 6/10/2014, 6:46 PM
Sentinels were the worst part of this movie.
marvel72 - 6/10/2014, 6:46 PM
the last one looks more like the comic version.
SuperCat - 6/10/2014, 6:52 PM
The last one looks the best.
Shamo - 6/10/2014, 7:11 PM
The next to last ones the best. Looks really fuccing dope. What's up with the one b4 it though? The white face looks odd as hell on a sentinel.
TheRationalNerd - 6/10/2014, 7:33 PM
I favored the past sentinels more than the futuristic ones. I would've loved to see the Future sentinels say "HALT MUTANT!" They also didn't combine and they also didn't show that they can increase and decrease in size as the director stated. Perhaps those skills will be shown in a deleted scene? I was really hoping that the sentinels would combine to form Master Mold in the end too...
batz11 - 6/10/2014, 7:34 PM
Yep. last one for me too...I still liked the ones they used in the movie....

ThePowerCosmic - 6/10/2014, 7:43 PM
Yep! I would have loved the last one. Didn't like the design of the future sentinels. No connection whatsoever to the comics. That last one was the perfect mix. Singer had to make his own version. I swear that guy hates comic books.
dio - 6/10/2014, 7:48 PM
Still bothers me that they used Mystique as the power source for the Sentinel tech..should been and made more sense if it was Rogue.
campblood - 6/10/2014, 7:53 PM
no because they wanted them to be able to adapt and counteract powers not just copy
JumpingSpider - 6/10/2014, 7:57 PM
I'm surprised how may people have never heard of Nimrod. It demonstrates the ignorance of the source material by users of this site. These designs would certainly be better appreciated if people could see the Nimrod inspiration.
DoctorCranium - 6/10/2014, 8:20 PM
None of us were born having already read the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Vol. I (or II). It's good to see people ask questions, this shows that people's interests are piqued. I bet quite a few people dig into X-Men lore and new fans get excited about doing some comicbook archaeology.
ManCalledSting - 6/10/2014, 8:26 PM
The future sentinels were nimrod inspired. Nitpicky kids.
BasedThanos - 6/10/2014, 8:27 PM
@dio
Yeah...Mystiques power is Shape Shifting NOT Power replication. Rogue should have been the source.
Namor - 6/10/2014, 8:44 PM
I still haven't seen it, becasue i'm so broke. Sucks. Outta all the Hero flicks latley, the one I actually went to see was Amazing Spiderman 2. I seen Cap2 as a download of computer, which wasen't that great a copy, and obviously haven't seen DOFP. Hope I can soon though.
DeusExSponge - 6/10/2014, 9:18 PM
Last one is the best IMO.
MightyZeus - 6/10/2014, 9:21 PM
The last concept picture looks great. Everything else looks good but it just reminds me of Gort.
MetropolisKid - 6/10/2014, 9:42 PM
haha the small heads..
