In James Mangold's The Wolverine there's a WWII flashback scene. Logan is in a POW camp near Nagasaki. A Japanese soldier, Yoshida, opens up Logan's "cell" and encourages Logan to make a run for it. Logan tells him there is no place to run from what is coming (the a-bomb), choosing to stay in his bunker. Yoshida and his fellow soldiers realize their lives are nearing an end, and decide to take their lives. Just before a reluctant Yoshida can stab himself with his sword Logan stops him. The two hustle back to Logan's bunker-like cell where Logan protects Yoshida from the blast. Logan gets good and crispy from the blast and this is where Yoshida Witnesses Logan's amazing healing powers.

In the animated storyboards (animatics) below, which were created by storyboard artist John Coven, things are slightly different. Logan is seen trying to open his cell with his bone-claws before Yoshida frees him. Once freed Logan actually takes off running with the other prisoners that were released. Lastly, Yoshida becomes visibily upset when Logan prevents him from taking his own life. He even decides to fight off Logan's help, cutting Logan on his arm. This allows Yoshida to witness Logan's healing ability.

Keira Knightley...maybe she was either used as a basis for the character or was actually considered for the role. I like her, good actress. Gorgeous too.
ComicsBornAndBred - 6/11/2014, 5:42 PM
Jessica Biel too
ComicsBornAndBred - 6/11/2014, 5:43 PM
I like the animate version a little better than what we got
DrDoom - 6/11/2014, 5:43 PM
THIS is Viper/Madame Hydra:

This . . . . is not:

NovaCorpsFan - 6/11/2014, 5:43 PM
They could've had an experienced actress and instead they got the model? Why does this keep happening with CBMs.
DrDoom - 6/11/2014, 5:44 PM
Also, yeah, the first pic totally looks like Keira Knightley.
Ramiel - 6/11/2014, 5:44 PM
How was Fox able to use Madame Hydra? Doesn't Marvel have the rights for her?
frova - 6/11/2014, 5:44 PM
Is that Kate Beckinsale or Jessica Biel?
DrDoom - 6/11/2014, 5:45 PM
@Ramiel

She's probably either shared, or Fox asked to use the character for the movie. I remember hearing rights discussions about how Fox couldn't refer to her as Madame Hydra because that name is attached to the Captain America franchise.
Ramiel - 6/11/2014, 5:47 PM
@DrDoom

Ah, I see. Thanks. Hopefully, we can get a more faithful version of Viper in the MCU.
nailbiter111 - 6/11/2014, 5:47 PM
It is Keira Knightley but before we all jump the gun, the artist likes to use celebrities as his concept models. So, it may not mean anything. That's why I didn't make a big deal out of it.

Viper/Madame Hydra is awesome!

Its a pity, no writers so far seem to know how to use a woman-...ooops, check that.
Its a strong woman. Hollywood is limp dick over them. Nevermind.
Shamo - 6/11/2014, 6:03 PM
dope. definitely looks like keira. would love to se her cast in an xfilm. young jean maybe?
Inhuman - 6/11/2014, 6:06 PM
Jessica Biel would have been amazing as Viper. Not to mention she's one of the hottest girls on the planet. IM jealous of JT =(
Inhuman - 6/11/2014, 6:07 PM
Technically she's not the real Viper aka Madame HYDRA so if I was Marvel Studios I would introduce her in Captain America 3 and show how to really do a proper Viper aka Madame HYDRA
0megaDaGod - 6/11/2014, 6:15 PM
I actually really liked the concept and aesthetic of this movie, it was just the execution that was so dissapointing. They had really good ideas, and the fight choreography was top notch, but it just never quite reached it's potential until the brief 2 part fight when Logan's trying to take the machine out of his heart. The movie gave build up to lots of great stuff, but the execution was massively underwhelming (namely, the train sequence and the Ninja fight). Let's not even talk about that hilarious Silver Samurai battle

Also, the ridiculous Jean Grey subplot was triply irritating because 1.) Wolverine had spent less than a week knowing Jean 2.) The disrespectful treatment of Cyclops became even more evident when you get more Jean/Wolverine moments in the dream sequences of a solo Wolverine movie than you got in any of the X Men 'team films' and 3.) Any mention of Jean and Wolverine killing her created direct correlations with XMen The Last Stand, which is close to being the last movie you should ever want to think about when trying to enjoy any CBM

@Doom and Camp.. Yessss!!

Will the real Madame hydra please come home!!
Alfredo27 - 6/11/2014, 6:37 PM
thank god she didnt look like comic version because I hate fake tits
MrMartinMarvel - 6/11/2014, 6:39 PM
Hopefully we'll be able to see Madame Hydra done justice in Captain America 3 or something.
DrDoom - 6/11/2014, 6:44 PM
Cap 3 in one image:

PLZ
Inhuman - 6/11/2014, 6:52 PM
@drdoom

I agree with you bro. I think Captain America 3 should have Baron Zemo, Madame HYDRA, Crossbones, and HYDRA army
0megaDaGod - 6/11/2014, 6:56 PM
Madame HYDRA in Cap 3 is a must. I doubt they're bringing back Black Widow for this one and will instead slide Agent 13 into the main female lead role

Madame HYDRA allows them to have someone for Carter to fight as well as giving another dimension to the HYDRA world. Add in Crossbones, Zemo, Strucker and a cameo from HYDRA Bob and we're all set

The ending of The Winter Soldier actually had some of the best easter eggs of all time
0megaDaGod - 6/11/2014, 6:59 PM
Eva Green would actually be a pretty good choice if she added to her figure

campblood - 6/11/2014, 7:09 PM
no eva green for catwoman not viper

SunfireUrA55 - 6/11/2014, 7:25 PM
I don't get it. Is she a snake or human?
eleven59 - 6/11/2014, 7:30 PM
Yes she would be a nice addition to hydra
eleven59 - 6/11/2014, 7:38 PM
Omega... You think she needs more curves?

Then I'll make sure to tell her our date nights will now become netflix and pizza nights....
Ramiel - 6/11/2014, 8:14 PM
@Omega

Eva Green as Madame Hydra would be a very solid choice.

@Camp

Eva has a similar look to Hathaway. Not sure if it be best for her to play Catwoman.
MileHighRonin - 6/11/2014, 8:17 PM
This film was great up until the Iron Samurai made his debut. I like the change with Viper, knew they couldn't use Hydra do to deals, but actress did suck.
ManCalledSting - 6/11/2014, 8:27 PM
If The Red Skull doesn't return in the movieverse, I'll be very u happy.
Namor - 6/11/2014, 8:44 PM
I want to see Omega Red so badly! If they do another Wolverine movie, he should be the main baddie. I just hate that Viper had posion and Omega Red can release pheromones that get you sick or die. Kinda the poison route again. But whatever, hes visually incredible and would be cool if they made his coils adamantium so Wolvey would have that in common with em.

Also, if they don't want to do Omega Red, they should do Wendigo. Bad assery watching them battle it out in the snowy, freezing cold of the Canadian Wilderness.
ToxicCap - 6/11/2014, 9:34 PM
The first pic looks an awful lot like Keira Knightley.
MightyZeus - 6/11/2014, 9:40 PM
The actress the studio hired to play Viper made a huge mistake. She was the only problem i had with The Wolverine. Every scene when she delivered her lines made me cringe. Her acting was bad and let's hope she won't appear in any more comic book films.

Concept art looks good though.
TheBrotherhood - 6/11/2014, 9:44 PM
EVA GREEN!
ragnarL9 - 6/11/2014, 10:18 PM
EVA GREEN <3
harley2011 - 6/11/2014, 10:20 PM
Viper, looks like she belongs in the amazing Spiderman 2. Not this movie.
Ryguy88 - 6/11/2014, 11:16 PM
I loved the opening scene! The Wolverine did a lot really well, but it missed the mark on a few points. Overall it was quite good though.
Ryguy88 - 6/11/2014, 11:22 PM
Omega, Logan and Jean knew each other for years and Jean had a huge impact on his life when he was completely lost.... and then he had to go and murder her! I thought they did a great job of showing the affect this had on Logan and how he found out his purpose in life and learned to let Jean go. That was the best part of the movie imo, it was a great arc for Logan and really the backbone of the story.
