#1. Robert Downey, Jr. - $75 million
Last year, Robert Downey Jr. topped Forbes' list of top earning actors, and he has done so once again. Last year, it was estimated that the actor pulled in $75M and that is the same figure experts estimate he made in 2014. Most of his record earnings are based on box office bonuses and back-end compensation from Iron Man 3, which pulled in $1.2 billion in box office revenue. He'll need more piggy banks as next year he has revenue from Avengers: Age of Ultron to look forward to.

#2. Dwayne Johnson - $52 million

#3. Bradley Cooper - $46 million

#4. Leonardo DiCaprio - $39 million

#5. Chris Hemsworth - $37 million
The Aussie actor, Chris Hemsworth ("Rush"), cracked the top ten this year for the first time. Forbes' has him listed as 5th with $37M. He too owes much of his wealth to Marvel Studios as Thor: The Dark World earned $644M at the worldwide box office in 2014. The film outperformed the first Thor by $200M.

#6. Liam Neeson - $36 million

#7. Ben Affleck - $35 million

#8. Christian Bale - $35 million

#9. Will Smith - $32 million

#10. Mark Wahlberg - $32 million

"To compile our earnings estimates, we talk to agents, producers, lawyers and other in-the-know folks to figure out how much each celebrity earned from entertainment-related work between June 2013 and June 2014. We do not deduct for taxes, agent fees or the costs of being a celebrity." - Dorothy Pomerantz from Forbes

RDJ's story is pretty amazing. An incredible inspiration to people with addictions, but of course he has awesome talent.

im not surprised, for the shitty scripts they had to act out what they got paid wasn't enough.
DeusExSponge - 7/21/2014, 4:03 PM
Now let's get Chris Hemsworth in a good and epic Thor movie. We need giant leviathans and monsters for him to beat down and dammit Marvel Studios make Thor more versatile. He doesn't just swing his hammer down with brute force and lightning. He needs more magic or that technological mumbo jumbo you brought forth. Let Thor Odinson become the monster that he is! He would wreck the entire Avengers roster right now if he was allowed to become the beast he is!

How come when I posted this earlier, @JoshWilding took it off and said it wasn't CBM related?
Klone - 7/21/2014, 4:08 PM
Aren't you essentially elevated to the level of nobility once you reach this level of fame?

RDJ and Hemsworth making bank! This is why so many big time actors like Michael Douglas and Robert Redford are hopping on the Marvel money train.
DrunkenNukem - 7/21/2014, 4:17 PM
I thought Matthew Mcconaughey was in the top 10

@DeusExSponge - yeah, Marvel really needs to up the level on the next Thor film.
they gotta take advantage of what they lucked out with in Hemsworth.
he really makes Thor likable in the way that Thor is likable. and in a way that a lot of actors who might look that part couldn't.

if they gave Hemsworth a real deal Thor movie, and i'm not talking monsters and junk like that, even tho, they should up the spectacle too on that end. but i'm talking about a real deal story, it would be such a hit. it's just crazy that this is even a possibility, that a great Thor movie would equal big huge money, but it's true.

they've got all the elements surrounding it in place. supporting cast, they've got great stuff going on between Loki and Hemsworth. Sif is great, she's like perfect Sif. Thor 2 Asgard was breezy high adventure just like it should be.

everything is in place, but they just need a great story and to lose all that Midgard nonsense. I think they should drop Midgard for one whole film. and then reapproach it in Thor 4. cuz it's important for it to be there, but it's just a mess however that started. that whole thing over there.
McNyagano - 7/21/2014, 4:19 PM
@Omega

Lmao xD That shit was funny as [frick] bro, made my day!

Cheers sir!

iron man needs a reboot rdj is a terrible tony stark
DeusExSponge - 7/21/2014, 4:27 PM
dethpillow - Exactly! Grounding Thor on Midgard just takes away the potential his franchise has and that's just sad. I understand why he needed to be on Earth for the first movie, but the second one was just blah! We have the nine realms at our disposal and all of that is being thrown into a trash bin thanks to the Earth scenes.

The Thor series should be more like the Lord of the Rings trilogy and have those epic scale scenery, great storyline and awesome character interaction. All the Thor movies have is Thor's interaction with Loki. We need more than that! We also need a threatening antagonist, someone that would make Thor think twice and cower in fear (ok maybe not the latter).
Chewtoy - 7/21/2014, 4:30 PM
Judging by Hemsworth's take there, it seems like Marvel isn't nearly as cheap as advertised.
StarWarsFan7 - 7/21/2014, 4:35 PM
Chris Hemsworth has three movies slated for release in 2015, so he will continue to rise on the Forbes list. RDJr is the MAN!
McNyagano - 7/21/2014, 4:41 PM
@Chewtoy

Which is why I never believed those bullshit rumours about Marvel not paying the actors enough money.

..."rdj is a terrible tony stark."

nailbiter111 - 7/21/2014, 4:41 PM
NightWatcher - am I Josh? you'll have to ask him.
McGee - 7/21/2014, 4:42 PM
#987. Clint Howard - $12 Hundred, and you refrain from mentioning his famous brother.
capfan88 - 7/21/2014, 4:44 PM
Surprised that Chris Evans isn't on the list, esp. given Winter Soldier's earnings. Bad contract?
