The Hollywood Reporter reports, director Paul Feig ("Bridesmaids," "The Heat") is considering taking on Ghostbusters 3. They caution that "no formal negotiations" have taken place between Feig and Sony Pictures but there appears to be interest from both parties. In fact, their sources went as far as saying Feig is Sony's "first choice."

Dan Ackroyd is a [frick]face, assclown
FordEl - 8/2/2014, 12:27 PM
Bridesmaids and The Heat were hilarious. Paul Feig could be a good pick.
Reasonnnn - 8/2/2014, 12:34 PM
Paul Feig also has a action comedy "spy" film called SPY, starring Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne, etc

Enough with GB3 Rumors!! this movie is not to get made ever, there's no point in making one if they don't reboot the franchise!
Jollem - 8/2/2014, 12:48 PM
"Dan Ackroyd is a [frick]face, assclown"

grif - 8/2/2014, 12:48 PM
what do you want to bet the world is gonna end again in this one....
DarthGeoffPeterson - 8/2/2014, 12:48 PM
God, as big of a fan as I am of Ghostbusters, I don't know if I'd even want this anymore. Harold Ramos is gone, Murray ' not involved. I'd much rather a series or something. Something done well kinda like the comics, using the first two movies as a jumping off point and continuing with the characters recast with ppl around the age the were then.
McGee - 8/2/2014, 12:51 PM
Melissa McCarthy as a Ghostbuster, eh?

...Well...if she's Ray's daughter, I'm fine. I guess.
DarthGeoffPeterson - 8/2/2014, 12:53 PM
Man, its my all time favorite franchise, but I just think GB3 is not something that should be done anymore. It just saddens me that such an awesome concept has been squandered for so long and now they wanna half ass a sequel with God knows what kind of atrocious modern "comedians" cast as the new blood.
JillyMcBeam - 8/2/2014, 12:53 PM
@nailbiter11

Where's my cosplay article at today? I need something to fap to. McGee's girlfriend is starting to get old.

Flop? Hardly. This movie will make a buttload of money. I hoping for something along the lines of Seth Rogen, Craig Robinson, James Franco, and Jonah Hill for the new Ghostbusters, I have no idea if any or all of them would be interested, and there are a lot of other actors I would enjoy as well, but that would essentially be my dream cast. Just bring back the originals to train them and I would be so happy. I also wouldn't mind seeing a new fifth female Ghostbuster.

I never get tired of my baby.

Sigourney Weaver's character Dana Barrett her son Oscar Barrett definitely needs to be in the 3rd film and Oscar needs to be all grown up but also have Oscar join the Ghostbusters team of course but who should play Oscar Barrett?
Danbojohnj - 8/2/2014, 1:53 PM
Who you gonna call?

Not these f=*ks.
TexasTwoFace - 8/2/2014, 1:54 PM
A team full of female Ghostbusters? A noble idea perhaps, but way to make a movie that would make a third of the money it would otherwise.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 8/2/2014, 1:55 PM
I had something clever to say but then I noticed that holy shit somebody's calling himself Darth Geoff Peterson.
Jollem - 8/2/2014, 1:56 PM
@Reasonnnn - apologize to dan and i'll take it back
MrCBM56 - 8/2/2014, 1:58 PM
Really?
SuperDude001 - 8/2/2014, 2:03 PM
Paul Feig - good director, bad for Ghostbusters.
Female cast reboot - brilliant to have female Ghostbusters, [frick]ing terrible idea to reboot it.
Pasto - 8/2/2014, 2:04 PM
Female Ghostbusters, starring:

Cobie Smulders as Dr. Petra Venkman

Maisie Williams as Raymond "Ray" Stantz

Alexandra Daddario as Egon Spengler

And Alice Eve as Winston Zeddemore
CherryBomb - 8/2/2014, 2:05 PM

Female ghostbusters?

RexDartEskimoSpy - 8/2/2014, 2:10 PM
Wow, Pasto found the worst picture of Colby Smulders ever. Nice job.
DarthGeoffPeterson - 8/2/2014, 2:11 PM
@rexdart thx. I suppose that makes Craig Ferguson Emperor, lol
DarthGeoffPeterson - 8/2/2014, 2:14 PM
@TTT, no please. I don't want Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonas Hill or any of those jack[frick]s anywhere near Ghostbusters.
ManCalledSting - 8/2/2014, 2:16 PM
Please no. Just keep Melissa Mcarthy anywhere near it.
MatTaylorX - 8/2/2014, 2:20 PM
No. Just no.
MrCummings - 8/2/2014, 2:25 PM
I rarely rant on this site...

The idea of a future Ghostbusters film or franchise meaning anything to me died the day we lost Harold Ramis. No Ramis, no Reitman, no Murray... No Ghostbusters. This might be appealing to some, but not me (and I love women).

As far as I am concerned, Aykroyd is a great talent and fully entitled to his creative vision... and if this is his vision, then so be it. I can't be sold on it... which sucks, because I would have really enjoyed some of the ideas I have heard kicked around.

I am sure I will see this at some point on Netflix in 2-3 years, but I don't know that I can get on board with a film that is seemingly limping along with without a finite direction. Ghostbusters 3 (from everything I have collectively read over the last three years) seems more like an intensive effort to herd cats and make a quick buck... and I just don't feel like this franchise deserves to be treated like a rental car. But what would I know and why does it matter.

Good luck with this one - I don't think it is going to be an easy sell, but I am sure people will see it.

ManCalledSting - 8/2/2014, 2:26 PM
DarthGeoff: I agree, none of those guys are the right comedic style for it.
DarthGeoffPeterson - 8/2/2014, 2:26 PM
@pasto don't forget Emma Stone as Walleena Peck
