In the past, James Bond films have featured iconic henchmen like 'Jaws' (Richard Kiel) from The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker, and 'Oddjob' (Harold Sakata) from Goldfinger. According to two sites, mi6-hq.com and jamesbondradio.com, the twenty-fourth Bond film wants to bring back that element to the long-running franchise. Below, is the character's name and a description of what type of actor Sam Mendes would like for the role.
Hinx (Male, 30 – 45) - Ideally over 6′ 2″. Hinx is the main henchman/assassin. We are looking for an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background.

BOND 24 will be directed by Sam Mendes ("Skyfall"), from a screenplay written by John Logan. The cast will include: Daniel Craig as James Bond (007), Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q. The film will be released in the UK and US on October 23, 2015 and November 6, 2015, respectively.

They should do a bond set in the sixties again.I wonder how do they expect to top that Skyfall opening.

Sounds like a job for The Mountain, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson!

I want to see a young guy as Blofeld. Like Dane Dehaan. TASM gave him a bad lot, he would make a great super villain.
gamecreatorjj - 8/23/2014, 1:00 AM
Or maybe an ace actor like Joquain Pheonix, he might be to uppity for it though.

@Dudeguyman

They're not looking for hokey, they're looking for iconic. Jaws and Oddjob were iconic, I see no reason an iconic villain wouldn't fit in these new Bond flicks.

Finally, it's what I've been sayin' all along.

I guess I'm in the minority if those who actually enjoyed Skyfall. QoS was pretty shit, and I didn't love CR like everyone else did, so Skyfall is my favorite of the Craig batch. Really looking forward to "Bond 24" too, and if they bring back an old henchman I'd be ecstatic. I'm already stoked on the new MI6 with Moneypenny, Q and M (love Fiennes, so he's mainly the reason I'm looking forward to the next one) seemingly going back to the old formant setup. Adding a villain like Jaws would be the icing on the cake.

They should bring back Blofeld. I would also like to see more gadgets this time around.
Bl00dwerK - 8/23/2014, 3:00 AM
I thought they were getting away from that stuff?
MrNiklander - 8/23/2014, 3:02 AM
Ian Whyte perhaps?

Skyfall...when it tumbles...we will stand taaaaaaalllllll, and face it all, together!

Love that song :D

Javier Bardem's Silva is one of the most memorable villains, along side Koba The Ape, in recent years.

All this...running around...it exhausting :D
orin1966 - 8/23/2014, 3:54 AM
I'm all for iconic henchmen. They haven't really even attempted that since Stamper and Dr. Kaufman in Tomorrow Never Dies but what really makes a Bond film is Sharks...fricking Sharks...

Loved Oddjob, hated Jaws.
AstonishingArachnid - 8/23/2014, 5:02 AM
When you force something to be iconic it's not going to be iconic, it's just going to feel forced.
mgeoff88 - 8/23/2014, 5:05 AM
Hinx? That sounds like a cover name. I don't see them naming a character with a name that is so similar to one of the worst Bond girls, Jinx.

I actually don't mind seeing iconic henchmen being brought back into the franchise. Jaws was campier than Oddjob, because the James Bond movies were more campy and tongue-in-cheek during Roger Moore's run.

This henchman won't be campy at all. He'll fit with the more serious tone of the new movies.
LoudLon - 8/23/2014, 5:07 AM
They should defy expectations and go the opposite route of "big and imposing." We've seen Bond (not Craig's Bond, but Bond in general) go up against big, intimidating guys many times before. I'd like to see someone who's a cross between Mike from Breaking Bad and Jet Li -- so low key you wonder if he even has a pulse, then BAM, he whips out all kind of whoop-ass on you.
maxleresistant - 8/23/2014, 5:30 AM
Hafþór Júlíus The mountain Björnsson :)

Skyfall was good, but Casino Royale was iconic and is my favourite!.

Hard to think of an Iconic villain without thinking what their novelty 'evil' is - eg); Jaw's metal jaws... Rosa Klebb with her venom-laced blade hidden in her shoe.... OddJob with his deadly blade-rimmed throwing hat...

Hard to think of a 21st century one as the new Bond films have dialled back the self-parody and cheese - but I don't know.... maybe some kind of bionic hand that can crush throats or something?..... *shrugs*
Arrowhead77 - 8/23/2014, 6:04 AM
Didn't like Skyfall. Hate old man Bond. Casino Royals and Quantum were better.
BoneSawIsReady - 8/23/2014, 6:50 AM
Shaq or that Russian guy from the last Kick Ass movie. Oh, that was a woman? Then just Shaq.

i said it before and i said it again.. remember when John Travolta said he loved the bond films and wanted to be a villain and said he was talking to the producers and they said they love the idea! this was a while ago right after sky fall but man.. id actually like to see him for a main villain!... also... main villain id love to see michael shannon too! he'd be a badass bond villain! but yeah. for this Minx guy.. i dont know lol

How does one hate Skyfall? It literally is the best bond film of all time, and this is coming from a fan of the old ones.

We all do

Too bad Mike Awesome from the ECW killed himself. He would fit the part. Seen him live and the dude was huge.

@TheAmbassador you're not the minority everyone loves Skyfall
TankD - 8/23/2014, 9:20 AM
More gadgets more futuristic like. iconic villains. thats what I want to see and huge weapons. Thats what I loved about the pierce brosnan films they always had some kind of super weapon. they need to bring that element back to the bond films. mix the new films with golden eyes tone.

Get a big guy, make him a mute, file his teeth to points and have him be a cannibal. Have them keep him in a box like the Gimp from Pulp Fiction. Show him eating the first person near by the first time he's let out of the box. Show the main bad guy be horrified but also fascinated by him.

Problem solved.
TheAmazingSlade - 8/23/2014, 12:04 PM
They should make a classic bond movie, for example Bond spying on a military base or something like the old movies.
JediPhilosopher - 8/23/2014, 12:06 PM
I may never fully understand the amount of attraction some people have to James Bond. Or, at least, as he's been done up to now.
HorrorPilot - 8/23/2014, 12:06 PM
Kevin Nash...if he could act.
