From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. James Gunn is the director and the story is by Nicole Perlman and James Gunn, with screenplay by James Gunn. It releases in U.S. theaters on August 1, 2014.

Is that golden thing a reference to the Collector's appearance in the comics? =D

Awesome movie!
Pheezmatic - 8/24/2014, 8:23 PM
I nearly love this movie as much as I love boobies.

...There I said it.

God the concept art for this film was (for the most part) tragic. At least whatever made it into the film was spectacular.
gamecreatorjj - 8/24/2014, 8:24 PM
not a great nova design but a lot better than what we got
AgentDrew - 8/24/2014, 8:27 PM
The Nova Corp looking like Judge Dredd
Spideysense44 - 8/24/2014, 8:35 PM
I don't like any of these...lol
MexicanSuperman - 8/24/2014, 8:39 PM
Haha that Collector art.
shangho - 8/24/2014, 8:46 PM
I think it's funny that every piece of concept art for the Novas has been better than what we ended up with.It was literally the only qualm I had with the movie
Superior - 8/24/2014, 9:26 PM
I think the Nova Corps. design we got on film was a better design.
ComicsBornAndBred - 8/24/2014, 9:54 PM
Gunn admitted he hates Nova and wouldn't want him in a Guardians sequel...maybe that's why he made te core look like shit, he dsimes Nova lol
Pheezmatic - 8/24/2014, 10:05 PM
I remember the audio to that convo...he said he's not the biggest fan of Nova but said he loved the Nova Corps
superotherside - 8/24/2014, 10:17 PM
I do like the Nova design kinda. At least some elements of it.

Minor gripe but I do kinda wish the aliens were different colors etc. I get it that they have "human" looking aliens even in Marvel comics (most notably the Asgardians) but seriously there were a few too many I thought that looked too human...

They should have made Korath blue IMO. I would have like Collector to look like he looked in the film but more goldish color on his face...
Havensent - 8/24/2014, 10:21 PM
Is it just me or does that blue alien look like a Skrull?

Like, if they had the rights to the Skrulls, he'd be Super Skrull.
hehemata - 8/24/2014, 10:50 PM
@havensent, nope

his jaw is totally reminiscent of kree

skrulls look orcish with ribbed chins. super skrulls in particular have jay leno chins

also, skrulls are green
loki668 - 8/25/2014, 12:21 AM
Skrulls are green
Kree are blue
No more "Hail Hydra"
Or Thanos kill you

You're welcome

Dont disrespect boobies.
koolaidbag - 8/25/2014, 4:12 AM
Those novas look way too much like dredd.
Doopie - 8/25/2014, 5:40 AM
boobies will always win out for me. Great concepts but I think they made the right choice for the movie
xXkryptoniteXx - 8/25/2014, 5:49 AM
The nova Corp officer looks like judge dress inspired.
slickrickdesigns - 8/25/2014, 6:13 AM
Definitely a Judge Dredd ripoff.
vtopa - 8/25/2014, 1:00 PM
I have to say that I did not like the Nova Corpsmen look in GOTG. Too much like retro iron man soldiers. It does not bode well for Rich Rider's eventual appearance as Nova Prime in the future. Also did not like that they cast John C Riley as Rhomann Dey. A fat out of shape middle aged guy? Really? This is the character who passes his powers on to Rich Rider eventually. Bad casting.

The one cool thing was the Nova space ships. Especially when they created that shield over Xandar.
Havensent - 8/25/2014, 6:13 PM
I should've elaborated. What I mean, hehemata, is that it looks like a Skrull in the sense of it's ears and brow. The nose as well. I know they're green and have ribbed chins.
