From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. James Gunn is the director and the story is by Nicole Perlman and James Gunn, with screenplay by James Gunn. It releases in U.S. theaters on August 1, 2014.

How many movies do you know of where an actual main character dies? Not many...
MrBlackjack - 8/27/2014, 8:02 PM
@Gandhi LMAO!

Gandhi - 8/27/2014, 8:08 PM
@Ineedrevelation as long as there is ignorance, hatred and Miley in this world I'll be here.
DodgerNYC - 8/27/2014, 8:10 PM
@Gandhi

Amazing Spider-Man 2: Gwen dies, really :)
NolanMarek - 8/27/2014, 8:12 PM
@MrBlackjack that had to have been the one part that gave me that scared the poop out of me
GuardianAngel - 8/27/2014, 8:12 PM
@Gandhi

Holy shit I never thought of that. That still doesn't take away from the quakity of the films, but its's very interesting.
Gandhi - 8/27/2014, 8:13 PM
@DodgerNYC Peter's father is dead for years without giving a sign, but not really.

We'll call it a tie.
BlacktinAmerica - 8/27/2014, 8:14 PM
@Gandhi TDK Gordan dies, but not really,TDKR Batman dies, but not really,MOS Jor-El dies, but not really.This is just how comics are ,and always will be.
batz11 - 8/27/2014, 8:14 PM
Wise one you are Gandhi...

DaVinci31 - 8/27/2014, 8:14 PM
@Gandhi

Rulk - 8/27/2014, 8:16 PM
@Gandhi - Gandhi died in the 1940's... yet here YOU are...

You would think you never read a comic book. Everyone dies, but not really. Sheesh... DC trolls are really scraping the bottom of the tank trying to find complaints with the MCU while they wait another year and a half for BvS.
Gandhi - 8/27/2014, 8:16 PM
@BlacktinAdam Jor El was not really alive, Ras in Batman Begins would have been a better example.

I will blow everybody's minds here but the Fantastic Four were the only ones who never tried to fool us with the same trick.
Rulk - 8/27/2014, 8:20 PM
MCU haters after Guardians of the Galaxy was a success...

Gandhi - 8/27/2014, 8:21 PM
Comics are not the same as Movies, here is my humble monk opinion... what if... we were ready for real deaths in some of these movies.

I mean if the studios are afraid of we not being able to handle it then they need to think again. Kids handled Mufasa and Bambi's mom, we will be fine.
BlacktinAmerica - 8/27/2014, 8:24 PM
@Gandhi yeah because a dead character can have full conversations with his son and help lois lane escape a ship though he was only programmed to give information about krypton.also Ra's/Liam Neeson doesn't die on screen until the end and is never brought back.
Gandhi - 8/27/2014, 8:25 PM
@BlacktinAmerica I personally couldn't care less if that counts as "dead but not dead". Still if you are going that way then lets say that Jarvis the butler was dead, but not really. You know because he can have full conversations with Tony.

TheAstoundingMan - 8/27/2014, 8:29 PM
I know it's only concept art, but the gem Star-Lord is holding appears to be red. Did they change it during filming because of the Aether?
DamianWayne - 8/27/2014, 8:30 PM
the ships in this were gorgeous. like hot rods in space
MrBlackjack - 8/27/2014, 8:30 PM

Dat helmet...
JohnWilkesBooth - 8/27/2014, 8:30 PM
Avengers sucks. No plot.

Guardians, Iron Man 1 and Winter Soldier are brilliant. Everything else is sub-par
Gandhi - 8/27/2014, 8:31 PM
See you suckers... it's Sex O'clock here for Gandhi.
MrBlackjack - 8/27/2014, 8:31 PM
@TheAstoundingMan

Yeah, I think Gunn explained that in a FB post or something. They just wanted to differentiate the two.
MrBlackjack - 8/27/2014, 8:31 PM
Damn, paranoid much or what, Rulk?
DeusExSponge - 8/27/2014, 8:33 PM
That Star Lord concept art! Wish they had went with it. I liked the movie costume, but the one in the concept art, IMO, is a hundred times better than the one in the movie.
MrBlackjack - 8/27/2014, 8:36 PM

Rulk - 8/27/2014, 8:36 PM
@Gandhi - "Comics are not the same as Movies"

That's it? That's your intellectual argument against the way Marvel CBM's handle death wise old Gandhi?? Time to change your username to Miley Cyrus!

BlacktinAmerica - 8/27/2014, 8:36 PM
@Gandhi you're just gonna leave but I haven't explained why your still wrong.
Luminus - 8/27/2014, 8:51 PM
@Gandhi: I was recently thinking about this. Marvel needs to stop with the fake deaths. It's tiresome.
HAILHYDRA - 8/27/2014, 8:56 PM
Marvel haters are getting really creative with ways to discount what Marvel has done. DC fanboys were really counting on GOTG to fail but needless to say that kind of back fired. I get the feeling a few of them will be on suicide watch one it out grosses Man of Steel
antoineflemming - 8/27/2014, 8:56 PM
@BlacktinAmerica, Jor-El DID die. Watch the movie next time.
DatGuy - 8/27/2014, 8:56 PM
So they were going to incorporate a more classic look for Starlord.
HAILHYDRA - 8/27/2014, 9:02 PM
@Gandhi I'll take a fake death to the way Jonathan Kent died any day. He sacrificed himself for a frickin dog
