According to Variety, early tracking of Christopher Nolan's sci-fi epic, Interstellar, puts the film on course for a $50M debut when it opens in theaters next month. Though, it will face some stiff competition from Disney's Big Hero 6, which opens during the same weekend. Interstellar cost $165M to create, coming in $10M under budget. A $50M opening would make Interstellar the fourth best opening for a Christopher Nolan-directed film. The Dark Knight Rises opened with $160M in 2012, The Dark Knight opened with $158M in 2008, Inception had a $68M debut and 2005's Batman Begins pulled in $48M in its opening frame.

Update! The Hollywood Reporter says both, Interstellar and Big Hero 6, could open closer to $60M. How much do you think Nolan's film will make in its opening weekend?

Below is the new "The Science Of Interstellar" Featurette
