In
Prometheus, Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) became "pregnant" with an alien creature. She had it removed with the do-it-yourself surgery pod. That's when we see it's a slimy creature with tentacles. Later on when the Engineer attacks Shaw, her alien infant leaps upon the Engineer, rescuing her. During the alien-on-alien battle Shaw's alien smothers the Engineer's face. When the camera pulls back we see Shaw's alien is actually a large Face Hugger. The final shot in the film is of the Engineer's chest bursting open and a Xenomorph-like creature emerging.

The Australian that the final creature is “
awfully close to the alien” from 1979's
Alien.
