"I'd love to do a version of 'The Punisher,' but it would have
to be directed by Michael Mann. Like a hardcore,
rated-R version of 'The Punisher.'"

And a decisive victory for the yes votes! A whopping 74% percent of the CBM community want Joe as your next Frank Castle. Hopefully Marvel is listening and makes sure this promising actor gets a shot.

OK, random slightly gay outburst aside: I wouldnt mind Joe in the role, but I'm sure there are better out there. I'd prefer to see Jon Hamm as Jigsaw, have him as a gentleman mobster who becomes a brutal disfigured killing machine.

The same situation applies to Isaiah Mustafa and Luke Cage, he fits the role perfectly and I feel like he would be perfect for the role in a Jessica Jones TV Show.

He has the look and he's hardknock when he needs to be. Dummy-fans and dummies in hollywood always want to put action before plot. That's why a Punisher movie will never work. Unless they get their minds from out their asses and draft someone with a GREAT script, not what's going to sell more. It'll sell big no matter what. Plot... Plot! PLOT!!

People will say Joe Manganiello should play Hawkman because he has a slightly pointed nose that stands out. I think Punisher is pretty much screwed to begin with. The best actor suited to play Frank just doesn't want to do it anymore. What does that tell you?

	Tainted87 - 9/10/2011, 6:24 PM Login to report abuse I like Stevenson and Jane, but let's face it... Tom Jane loves the Punisher. I don't. I don't even know what the attraction is to the character. The only reason I went and saw the 2004 Punisher was because it was filmed all over Tampa and Palm Harbor, the former being where I live. This is a stoic psychotic vigilante whose motivation is just like any other superhero... to go beyond what normal people can do. Except then he goes beyond what is deemed actually enjoyable to watch (unless you're really into that kind of thing) in order to bring those to "justice". And if you want to compare the two actors, Tom Jane can hold his own and lead a movie, Ray Stevenson can't. But such is wasted on a character who could be played by a stunt double.

For Joe I would say no he is too young and good looking The Punisher is supposed to be tough and mean looking and an older man at least in the 40s.
